Customer Reviews Darn Tough Vermont Heady Stripe Micro Light Cushion Socks

These socks feel fine, and the colors are a nice change from usual, boring socks. But maybe the key part of the website description is "These socks are ready to take on all of your active pursuits" -- maybe constantly moving around would help to make up for the lack of warmth that I feel now while sitting in a 55 degree room and wearing warm hiking shoes over the socks. These socks feel as if they are entirely synthetic (and not a warm synthetic); maybe the merino wool (which I do believe is in there) is not for the part of the sock that is in the shoe, which is where I am really feeling the cold. (Well, there and where the socks abruptly end on my poor legs.) The packaging from the Vermont-based manufacturer says "ALL WEATHER COMFORT Cool in the summer, warm in the winter." Hmmm. After I finish writing this review, I'll take the socks off, put them in the wash, and not wear them again until May. (And I would return them, but I believe I would forfeit the $10 gift card that I used to help pay for them.)

First wear was great. After one washing they shrank to an unwearable size. Sad..

I have 3 pair of these socks and love them. However, one pair has already torn on the seam? Disappointed!!

I purchased these this past winter with the plan on using them as hiking socks. When I tried them on, the heel just barely cover the bottom of my foot. I will be sending these back. Too bad, they look and feel like good socks.
