I heard about these a few years ago, but forgot about them. I normally don't buy expensive sneakers, because my son who has CP drags his feet and tears through shoes monthly. I happened upon these Flyease sneakers again recently and decided to spend the $60 on a pair. They're awesome. My 11 year old can now get his shoes on himself. He has too much difficulty getting regular sneakers over his braces, especially the heel part. The zipper on these gets snagged in the very back where the shoe seam is; however, he still manages. I didn't think that was worth returning/exchanging. I bought the wide and they fit perfectly. I can't speak for the comfort, but my son hasn't complained so it looks like they fit him fine. The style is perfect because they're Nike. He's 11 and in 5th grade. He already stands out wearing leg braces, at least the Nike swoosh makes him feel more "in" with his peers.

They run on the larger size - I ordered a 6 for my son who is a 7 in other brands. Another reviewer questioned the purpose of the zipper saying it was weird. This design is life changing for kids and adults who have physical difficulty typing their own shoes. Not saying they are solely for that purpose - anyone who think shoes that zipper are cool will love these. But my son who is 11 and has Cerebral Palsy is now able to wear fun shoes and take them on and off independently - critical at birthday parties and school. Additionally, he wears an AFO on his right ankle and the wide version accommodates nicely. They are a great looking sporty sneaker! Thank you Nike and Zappos.

Nike Flyease WIDE is designed for children and adults that wear orthotics and may have difficulty tying their shoes. My daughter has worn these for two years now with huge success - the zipper has held up well and the material is light which helps with the weight of the brace.

These shoes are EXCELLENT. Our son has cerebral palsy and is quite active, and needs shoes that he can put on himself, that support his braces, and that allow him to do everything he wants to do. We are so thankful that Nike created these shoes, and that Zappos provides them.

We have used the FlyEase shoes for the past 2 years, and these are NOT the same quality. I purchased this shoe in 2 sizes, and both of them were difficult to zip because of some kind of sticky adhesive that was near the zipper and shouldn't have been. I also ordered "wide" and do not consider them to truly be a wide width. Many reviewers do not understand the purpose of these shoes...the FlyEase was designed for people who have trouble tying shoes for a variety of reasons or who have varying disabilities and/or may wear some type of braces. The zipper design gives those individuals more independence when dressing. These shoes seemed cheap, and we are disappointed because my boys love the idea of wearing Nikes.

My son loves these shoes. He has right sided weakness due to a previous stroke and is so happy to be able to put his shoes on himself. These are our second pair due to defect in first pair. After emailing Zappos regarding the issue, Zappos overnighted a new pair with no questions asked. Amazing customer service!!!!!

Bought these for my son who has right sided weakness from a previous stroke. He is unable to tie laces. It’s hard to find shoes with Velcro at his age. He absolutely loves these. The zipper was a little stiff but considering their “job” they are fantastic.

These are wonderful for my son who wears orthotics. They stylish and the design is great. We had to order a bigger size than his previous shoes (Tsukihoshi) even though he's still in the same AFOs but that's why we shop with Zappos since they have the BEST return policy and free shipping.

It was great until it fell apart.

My eleven year old son wore these shoes for less than three months, while alternating with other sneakers. The shoes did not hold their shape and the sole of one of the shoes has detached. He also has the same pair in red, and the soles of those are detaching from the toe. These are not at all worth the money!

My son needed a shoe to fit his orthotics (EFO). These shoes worked great for that because they unzip in the back for ease of getting on and off. I wish I could have found a different brand other than Nike. I won't be buying anything Nike again!

These shoes were ordered for my son who wears bulky foot braces. He is able to put them on independently and they provide the support that he needs. We recommend them!

Was perfect fit for 8 year old and he loves them.

Third pair of these for the 11 year old. He thinks they’re cool and easy to get in and out of. They wear well and keep mostly clean—for an 11 year old. He wears a size 6 wide and these are his go to shoes.

My 10 year old son has wide feet and his shoe choice is limited. These shoes fit perfect and he loves the zipper feature. Shoes with laces continually untie throughout his day, so a wide, non lace up shoe is perfect for him. Plus, he thinks they look cool. We just got them so I don’t know how well they will hold up, but for now they’re great!

My daughter just recently started wearing SMOs and these shoes were recommended by the therapist that did her fitting. While I did like the concept and they seem like a very comfortable shoe, the Velcro strap was just WAY too short. Once her foot was inserted with her smo on and the shoe zipped, the strap would only reach to the tongue of the shoe. Super annoyed that they wouldn’t have thought to make the strap a little longer. Oh well! Zappos is great and has a great return policy. So we returned and are still on the hunt for the perfect shoe.

My son has been wearing Nike’s for years and for some reason these were a full size too big. I am returning, bought a similar style at the Nike store and they fit him great, in the same size as I’m returning. He loved the zipper on the shoe, but I felt like they would be easily broken If this feature were to be used regularly.
