Very comfortable sandals. I wanted something that was comfy but also dressy enough that I could wear to work and these fit the bill nicely!

I LOVE these sandals. They are dressy enough for my business casual office but casual enough for every day use. I can wear them with dresses, skirts, shorts, or pants. They were comfortable right out of the box, which isn't usually the case with birkenstocks. I love that my feet don't get sweaty or slide around even in on the hottest, most humid days... I can wear these happily all day and almost every day. In most shoes I wear a 6/6.5 but these are true to birkenstock sizing and I purchased a 36 (5-5.5). I have a wide foot but these are just fine despite the "narrow" designation.

These are great, instantly comfortable sandals. I spend entire days on my feet and do a LOT of walking. I usually wear an 8 1/2, and the 39 was perfect for me. They look cute too.

After reading the previous review, I was hesitant to order this sandal but I didn’t have any problems with size or straps being too short. I ordered my usual Birkenstock size of 39 narrow and the fit was great. These sandals are very supportive and cute. I’ve worn them several times and walked long distances without any issues.

This shoe is a comfortable as my original Arizona sandals, but are much dressier. Love the slight wedge.

Specifically wanted this height of Birks to wear with maxi dresses, but some very rough spots on the inside of the straps. It's not just the leather, which can be softened by filing down a bit, but there's exposed elastic with glue or something. In general the connections of the straps are poorly designed from a feel and comfort perspective, surprisingly so. Or they could have at least covered the leather somehow. So now, though i like the style and the fit is perfect otherwise, i am on the fence choosing between this and the Lola, which does not have the roughness issues, but has one of those ankle wrap straps, which i'm not crazy about because they don't hold your foot unless you buckle them tight and constricting, and in general they are a less delicate look with the wider straps. These seem to be my only two choices in this heel height, so it's a disappointment. i would probably settle on these, but the roughness of the straps are an unfortunate comfort issue. Very strange that this was overlooked by the maker.

I liked these a lot but found the ankle strap to be just a bit too prohibitive. I hope they come out with a similar style shoe with the strapped designed a little different.

Almost as comfy as my regular Birks, but quite a bit cuter. ;-) Great with dresses & skirts.

I am a true size 5 but when I ordered these in a 36 (5-5.5) they were huge. I am so disappointed because I don't have many options for shoes with good arch support and it is especially sad when they don't come in a size that will fit me.

I'm normally a 38 in Birks, but here, the 37 fit properly, lengthwise. Alas, the width in the 37 did not! This is a wonderful sandal; if it fits, wear it! I may try it again in the future to see if adding an extra hole in the two forefoot straps can help.

Pretty cute sandals but I need a lot of arch support and it felt like the arch was off a little at least for my foot. If you don’t have particularly sensitive feet these will probably be fine for you.

I bought one pair in 39 and one in 38. They were as expected, and the 39 felt better. My problem was with the quality of the leather in the Cognac color: first, the color looked more reddish in the photo and was definitely brown in person. Also the Cognac leather was flimsy and I felt the upper strap would most likely break easily. The black leather was more like most of the Birks I've got, and it was okay except for the fact that the straps were too long when buckled where I needed it to fit my narrow foot. I wonder if the Pappillio is made in a different country than the traditional Birks? Somewhat disappointed that these aren't for me, but I'm not finished yet! Just ordered two more pair and am hoping for the best. Love Zappos service and usually get a great fit in what I order!

These Lanas are my first pair of Birkenstocks. I find them very comfortable and think they pair well with many outfits. I will likely purchase more styles soon.

The strap around the ankle was rubbing. They are reasonably cute, but i was buying them for comfort so I'm not willing to put up with that. Have to send them back.

I was willing to overlook the finish of the buckles/elastic at the ankle straps which is sloppy - not "birkenstock" quality. But, while the heel is a perfect fit, the toe area footbed is a bit narrower and little toe is in danger of "spilling out" reducing comfort level considerably. They are really cute though...

I have a wide foot and even though I knew a narrow width wouldn't fit me, I read the reviews and two of the reviewers stated that they had wide feet but that the sandals fit perfectly. I was leery but, since I liked them, I decided to buy them. As to length and width, the soles were the right size. But, the straps across the top were too short and didn't fit. I was very disappointed but had to return them. I guess that "wide" feet come in different widths!!

Way too narrow for my wide foot. I'm sad to be returning these.

I really like the look of these sandals.....a dressier look than regular Birkenstocks. However, the higher heel does affect walking. It is noticeable, and I don't think it would be good for all day walking. For a few hours to be dressier, they are great.

I thought that by going with the narrow width instead of the standard medium, I would be able to wear this, as I have a slim foot with narrow heels and ankles. The footbed fit like a dream but unfortunately the ankle/heel straps were way too large for my foot. I could have made new holes on the closure strap but the heel straps would have still been too long. I wish those had been adjustable as well. If you have a regular heel, you should be fine though.

These were not as comfortable as I hoped. The style was very pretty. I will wear them when I go out to eat, etc when there is more sitting than walking. I work as a teacher and on my feet all day and by the end of the day I switched back to my Vionics.

When I purchased these shoes, I was worried about the width. I don't need wide width shoes, but my feet are on the wide side. I had no problem with the width of these shoes. But they were too long. I wear a 42 in all shoes, and my feet just didn't line up in these. If I go down a size, maybe the width would be a problem. Also, one one shoe, the ankle strap was very loose around my ankle, which, for me, defeats the purpose of having them. Sadly, I had to return these shoes.

I have high arches and recently developed plantar fasciitis. My Birkenstock Granadas feel really good and don't seem to exacerbate my problems. I was hoping these Lanas would be a dressier option for work. They are really cute and I love the way they look. Unfortunately, the arch support isn't the same as my Granadas. (I think the raised heel may impact the arch support--it definitely hits my foot differently.) I'm sending them back, but I wish I didn't have to!

Cute for a Birkenstock. Unfortunately, the thin straps across the ball of the foot are attached a hair too far forward so the backside can pinch. Other models have a wider strap that covers the entire wide part of the foot. The deal breaker is that the heel strap is a separate piece riveted to the rest of the shoe. This leaves a wide, forward-facing flap of stiff leather that rubbed the area below my ankle bone with every step. Sadly returning for something I can wear all day without blisters.

I found these were cute for a day and then they started to show that they’re poorly made. There’s poor support in general

These sandals were very comfortable with the exception of the small ankle buckle, which caused a sharp pain on the ankle. The straps looked a bit space age to me. I returned them.
