At 6'2, 220 #, I go through shoes pretty fast. As for my hikers, I'm as picky and careful with them as I am my cycling and running shoes. With age, my faves get to go to work with me each day and become old friends until final retirement. These are the best shoes I've owned to date. EVER. I tried retiring them from the trail twice, but new insoles kept them going on day hikes and a solid multi-day this past winter. Newer, techier shoes stayed at home. These shoes have been with me for 4 years and are FINALLY retired from the trail and are my daily work shoe. I have a new pair in the shopping cart now and look forward to many years to come with the X ULTRA MID 3 GORE-TEX. Oh! Laces. Laces have always been an issue. I typically switch to treated fireman's laces and always wonder why I didn't do it sooner. Bombproof.

I am in law enforcement and in rugged terrain or woods on a daily basis. These Gore Tex boots are light but keep your feet warm and dry. They are ventilated well, no issues with sweat so far. These are my good to winter/ colder weather boot. I typically wear the Salomon Speedcross low top shoes in the spring and summer.

About 2 months in it is everything you would want in winter boot, and with a great grip

These hiking boots were a great purchase. Looking forward to putting many more miles on them. Walked through a creek today, through near waist deep snow, and a good amount of mud. Feet stayed dry, and they were very comfortable. Highly recommended!

I have a unique fit, 12.5 wide. These boots are very comfortable with a nice footbed. I added Superfeet to them and can go all day without discomfort. Lightweight yet supportive!

...wet feet are trash! So wear some X ULTRA 3 GTX's and your feet will be dry and happy. Fits my foot great, materials are premium.

I work outdoors in rough terrain daily, this boot has been amazing. It's lightweight which makes running easier and extremely more comfortable than my normal work boots. I can't speak to how well they hold up yet, only been using for a little over a month, but so I happy I bought these boots. I highly recommend them, you won't be disappointed.

Love these boots! Super waterproof and ultralight with good grip and ankle protection and a sweet and simple lacing system.

Now, that colder weather is here, I will be using these more frequently. My goal is to work and hike in them full time. Slowly working my way into wearing them all winter. Bill E

I purchased these for a late fall backpacking trip. They kept my feet dry through snow, mud and standing water. They also provided excellent traction on a variety of surfaces including inclines, rock, and improvised water crossings. Highly recommended.

This is my second pair of Salomon hikers, most comfortable and great support. I cannot imagine buying another brand ever!

I've been a Salomon wearer for years, but this pair is one of my favorites. Excellent in wet weather conditions. Kept my feet dry in pouring conditions for a few hours. Comfortable and extremely durable. Will definitely be buying another pair

I am currently on my second pair of the X Ultra Mid GTX boot. It fits my foot very well and has an almost non-existent break-in time. The Gore-Tex on my last pair lasted about 3 years until failure. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this boot/sneaker hybrid.

I have to confess, I bought these shoes with no intention of hiking in them. My job has me on my feet on concrete sometimes twelve hours a day. I'm not a small person, and every shoe and boot I had worn left me limping and in pain at day's end. These haven't. I had to put in a good insole, since the standard one isn't enough for my daily demands, but otherwise they've been great. Not bulky, lightweight, good foot position, waterproof (in limited exposure, anyway), solid eye-hooks, good lace grip... I really am pretty impressed. I wish it was just a little taller and wider in the toe box, and had a little better insole/cushioning, but otherwise these boots are spot on. I will definitely buy again, and recommend them to anyone who'll listen.

i bought these shoes a month ago and owned a pair similar pair before. very comfortable shoe, with good heal support and cushion for comfort. i have hiked with these shoes from the himalayas to cascade mountains and have found them to be amazingly good.

Being vegan I googled for some good hiking boots; Peta usually endorses the products I buy. I am environmentally conscious these are made with upcycled plastics, gortex for warmth and waterproof, and just the most comfortable boot or shoe I have ever owned, I wear them indoors they are so comfy. I bought another pair they are so nice. My mate then bought one. We bought my Dad for Fathers day 2 of the lower cut hikers so he could slip them one easily. I had bought an Adidas hiker at same time and barely use that pair... too stiff. I'm a fan for life!

This my second pair of Salomon hiking boots. I like them mostly because they are so light and streamlined. Maybe because I'm a bit on the older side, I prefer, or need, boots that don't tire me out after 10 miles of high country hiking. Ounces matter. And boots without big clunky soles tend to be a tripping hazard go for me. Beyond that, I put a lot of miles on my others and they remained comfortable. The did start to tear open at the bending point outboard of my toes. Wear and "tear". I these boots will be better and the burnt orange color is snazzy.

Used these boots right out of the box to climb Mt Baker. Comfy right away and kept my feet dry. I appreciate that they're not as heavy as any of my mounatineering boots. A great shoulder season boot.
