I have an 11.5 narrow foot. I wear a 42 in Birkenstocks that are this style and a 42 in Mephisto booties but the 42 in these was too small. The snake skin pattern looks great in person but was really rough next to my toes... not sure if that would get more comfortable with wear.

When it comes to comfort shoes, Mephisto Helen Mix stands out by far. Comfort and cuteness is typically an oxymoron in shoes, but these are both! The contrast strap, with a pop of gold makes this comfortable shoe perfect for both casual days and dressier casual nights. My first Mephistos... likely not my last.

I've worn Helen's for 10+ years and the mixing of the materials, is visually appealing, however, the wear ability is not there for me. When you slip your foot into a pair of sandals you want to feel comfortable nothing else, I didn't get that feeling from this particular pair of shoes, so I returned them. I also thought the color was ....not at all complimentary.

As a long time Birk Arizona fan I was hoping to find a “cute” yet supportive sandal — something along the lines of the Birk Gizehs (which I love for looks but caused me nerve damage from the toe post). These Mephistos fit and were incredibly comfy! The toe wrap didn’t bother me at all and the cross strap kept the shoes firmly in place. Unfortunately they made my narrow feet look even bigger than Arizonas do. I was sad to have to return them and will definitely look at Mephistos’ other styles.

Looks nice with blue jeans. Leather a little stiffer than waxed leather styles but still comfortable. Helen is my go to walking sandal.

Love this sandal as I did my first Mephisto, however, I thought the design was black and white not gold and white!! They are going back.

I really wanted to keep these, because they're so pretty (white with silver); however, the leather pinches on the outer right side of the foot in the middle. This is the only part that made them unbearable to wear, so I had to return them.

I really wanted to be able to keep these, because they're so pretty (white with silver); however, the fit is way off from other brands of the same type. The sandals are plenty long as far as size is concerned. I sized up, and they were too long. Unlike other footbed sandals, the leather curves very high on the right side in the middle of the foot, which pinches and makes them uncomfortable to wear. I did notice that someone else commented about this in another review.

Shoe was cute but European sized and runs small.

This sandal doesn't work well with my foot. The toe bed is too narrow for my foot which is pretty unusal given I have a pretty narrow foot. I've worn them too long to return them but they are not my favorite sandal. They look good but are uncomfortable on the toes.

I don't feel that I should review a shoe I couldn't wear. My feet are a wretched mess. The left shoe toe area crossed my bunion so that I could not put the shoe on with out great pain. So, basically what may be a great shoe was unwearable for me.

My feet are on the narrow side of medium and I always order medium. These are way too narrow for me at the ball of my feet. Although I have had Mephistos in the past, these mediums are much narrower than they used to be.

WHY, WHY, WHY can’t this come in a wide?!? This was my first time purchasing Mephistos. I was afraid they were going to be too clunky and old-lady-ish. But these are actually really cute (blue mix). And comfy! However, my foot tends to be normal-to-wide across the ball of my foot, and these are definitely made for narrow-to-normal feet. If they were slightly wider, or came in a wide, I would absolutely keep them. Also, I would say they run about a half size small.

This was an attractive sandal, but uncomfortable. The leather between the toes is too thick.

This is a very cute shoe, but the hard stiff leather between my toes was uncomfortable and so they are going back. From the photo on the Zappos website, I thought the part between my toes would be nubuck. I will look for a nubuck version of this shoe

I wear a size 12 shoe and have thin feet so I was excited that the sandal had a buckle to tighten the strap across the top of it. Unfortunately the sandal was a tad too small so I'm sending back. I was bummed because they're very cute. LOVE ZAPPOS!

I really loved the feel of the footbed. However the toe leather was very stiff and I could tell it would rub my second toe raw if I wore them. I would have liked a little higher arch support as well—but I have pretty high arches. I usually wear a 9 and the 39 was a good length.

The leather is really stiff in this particular style (Black/Cuba). I've worn Helen for years. The suede styles are usually much softer.

Size ran small. Got same size in Birekenstock and fit perfect. Disappointed that the white was patent leather. Would lover if the white was regular leather. The patent leather tends to flake.

These fit fine. The leather that is next to the toes was stiff and very uncomfortable. I was afraid that it would cause the skin on my toes to be rubbed raw. I've never had to return Mephistos before.

Ouch! Great fit but the straps around the toe are stiff and sharp! Cut into my toe with every step. Walked around the house a bit to see if they would soften but, nope. Returned, sadly, because they look nice and fit otherwise.
