I bought this shoes for hiking in Central America countries in rain season. They are doing great with challenging conditions of rain, mug or slippery ground. They looks even a bit casual. They are very light and comfortable. I hope they will last forever.

I have been looking for a shoe that I can wear with shorts during spring and summer and with a pair of pants during the fall and winter. I really like these shoes they feel very durable and comfortable as well as stylish. I'm on my feet a lot during the day because I own multiple full-service laundromats. I can wear these all day and then hit the gym after work. Great pair of shoes.

Great shoe. It fits and feels very comfortable on my feet. Also the best part is that they are light and not heavy like other hiking shoes.

I like the stylish-casual look, and these shoes shoes served me well during a recent business trip to San Francisco...also got to play for one day. I went to a Michelin Star restaurant in them, as well as an 11 mile bike ride. The Gortex shell in the rain, along with the stable grip on wet pavement, proved more than capable in adverse conditions. Not to mention that they are super comfortable. All makes for the perfect shoe for me; stylish, sporty and comfortable. Thank you North Face!

You will not find a better pair of trail running shoes and they stay dry, for wet grass after rain or early am run/walking. These shoes offer great support both on hard surfaces and off road. Fit true to size.

I always have trouble finding good fit shoes, because my relatively small feet are a bit wide (bony in region below toes). I originally bought the woven version of the Ultra FastPack III Gortex shoes, but found the sneakers very slight tight. This same design pair, but with different (perhaps softer) material or perhaps wider design, feel comfortably wider. I am very happy to have found these light, waterproof hiking sneakers with great traction.

Got these before a trip to Japan. Have to say I'm very happy they came in on time. As far as waterproof footwear goes, these are some of the nicest I've tried. They are lightweight unlike other options and are not bulky by any means. They have good support for your ankles and great grip for slippery surfaces. Definitely recommend for hiking but can be casually out as well.

Im a hiker and after having success shoes from The North Face, I knew I couldnt go wrong. I bought them unseen and couldnt be happier. I immediately went on a 9 mile, rocky hike with 2500 feet of elevation gain in the rain, mud, snow and ice. The grip is incredible on all surfaces, they kept my feet dry and comfortable, and afterwards cleaned up like new. The outsole is firm but breaks in. They fit well and are light weight. I ask alot but I trust these shoes to do everything I need them to. Very happy customer and highly recommend if you like to adventure without worrying about your feet.

I bought these as a gift for my boyfriend. He runs a golf course so he's on his feet all day in the grass, wet and muddy. These shoes have been the best for what he needs. Light and breathable but keep his feet dry and comfortable. They last a while season unlike so many others we have tried.

I bought these because I thought they would be more durable than a running shoe; they looked more like a running shoe to me, than a cut-down hiking boot. So, I gambled a (very) little and bought a pair. I'm glad I did. They may be too heavy to run distance in (don't know... don't run distance), but they're absolutely great for walking and light trail hiking. I suspect they'd provide excellent performance for trail running, but I have not yet done that in them. Personally, I would prefer the hightop version for longer distances or rougher trails, but for around town, travel, and exercising, they are perfect for me. I actually bought another pair in a different color. I appreciate the GTX construction, as well as the durable Vibram outsoles. They were comfortable right out of the box and did not cause any blisters or hot-spots whatsoever. Granted, I was only wearing them for 4-8 miles at a time, but I suspect they would be comfortable beyond that distance as well. Now that they're well broken-in, I have come to appreciate them even more, and the quality/performance is consistent over both pairs.

These fit true to size for me. I normally wear a 10.5 in most shoes and a 10.5 fits me well in these shoes. Width is adequate, but they do not have a super wide toe box. I have not had a chance to try them on the trail, but just wearing them around town to get used to them. The soles are VERY sticky. When walking on a smooth surface, such as tile, they make a noise like you have walked through a sticky liquid and your feet are sticking to the floor. I have never had any shoes like this before. I am excited to try them on some wet rocks on the trail!

Use when raining and are great. Little stiff but know that with gortex so breakin required. Need a notch wider

Normally I wear a US size 12 or 13, depending on the brand. At the North Face store I tried both 12 and 13. The 12 felt too small, the 13 too big. Fortunately North Face makes a the shoe in a 12.5, but the store did not stock that size. Zappos delivered the 12.5 a day earlier than promised. The shoe was comfortable as soon as I put it on, no break-in. I normally take a daily 1.5 mile walk. After owning these a week, I am thus far delighted. Laces stay tied and the eyelet design appears to be conducive to lace durability. These shoes are replacing a pair of Merrils I was happy with but which were coming apart. Merril has moved away from using Gore-Tex. These North Face shoes use Gore-Tex which is the only waterproof liner I trust. The North Face shoe is expensive, but I feel worth the price. They come with a limited lifetime warranty. Based on my experience so far, North Face will be the first place I look for my outdoor footwear.

I ordered the shoes online in grey/yellow. The color looked even better when I saw them compared to the photo where they almost look black. It is really a very dark grey. They are very robust and rugged for active wear but also more comfortable than previous shoes.

Took these shoes hiking in Patagonia. Kept my feet comfy the entire 15 miles. Weather was 50F and terrain varied (gravel, dirt, grass, etc). I typically purchase half size up for shoes I will be in for long periods of time (feet expand as you run or trek). I wear nike winflo 5’s, and get them half size up (10.5). For these shoes, I had to downsize to men’s 10 (they seem to run half size bigger), and I had the perfect amount of wiggle and feet expansion space. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic pair of shoes - they are comfortable enough to wear on a daily basis. The waterproof aspect came in handy with the torrential rain we received this weekend. Overall, a well designed shoe!
