These are so cool BUT, even if I ordered a size down (I am 39/8.5 normally), they were still too big, and a bit large, so that they don’t grab my heels properly. Had to return.

Dr. Marten boots overall seem to run about a size too large. Ordered a size down and they are perfect. Comfortable right out of the box. Living in MN, these are the best boots for dealing with harsh winters. Non-slip, comfy with thick socks and still cute enough to wear to the office, no more changing snow boots for appropriate foot-wear!

I had to order one full size down to get a good fit, but otherwise these are great! Good all purpose boot for fall and cute with skinny jeans. Footbed has a nice cushion, too.

I love Docs. I own a lace-up pair without a safety toe that I wear outside of work. I know with Docs there is usually a break in period, but these are something else. I hate that these do not come in half sizes, a half size in these would be much better. I originally ordered a 7 and they felt HUGE in the toe and my ankle started slipping up, so I sized down to a 6. The 6 was way too tight, my toes all cramped and pressed against the steel toe. I went back to the 7, and I wear with a very thick sock. Only issue with the thick sock is that the middle of my foot feels squeezed, I'm holding onto hope that with enough wear the leather will stretch out. I only wear about 1x/ week to work, these will have to stay on rotation.

Very stylish but I do not recommend for 10hr shifts. Not comfortable like other boots.

I am a size 7 and went with a 6 as recommend by reviews. Length wise it was good but it's really narrow and the steel toe doesn't fit well, it squishes my little toe a lot. I would recommend for narrow feet folks.

Not the most comfortable boots on earth but it’s better than most other boots I’ve tried. Very stylish boots for work ;)

Metal toe area pinched my toes on flex

These are very nice boots with very nice leather but they definitely run large. I usually wear a US 7.5 and tried the UK 5 / US 7. They're slightly too long (width is fine) and feel okay for the first 10-15 minutes of walking, but after a while they start to rub my heels raw. If you wear US 8s at least some of the time (if not more) then I'd recommend trying and sizing down to the UK 5 / US 7. I can't return them because I've worn them outside a few times, but I'll try buying some shoe inserts because I really want these boots to work. (Unsure if arch support is good because that's not something I generally notice. Width might be somewhat wide.)

I read other reviews saying to size down from your normal size so that’s what I did but I would not recommend sizing down because that’s what I did and I ended up having to return the size 7 and buy a size 8. I am a true size 8 and the 8s fit me perfectly, I have a little bit of room at the end but not to where my foot is really sliding or anything. The 7s would have been okay if they didn’t crush my pinky toes. I think if Dr. martens offered half sizes a 7.5 would be the perfect fit for me but other than that I would say choose your normal size.

I ordered a size down than I normally get from the reviews but I actually think ordering my regular size would of been better. They fit but being a steel toe they are cramped for space in the toe. This is why I usually get my steel toes bigger. I would just suggest getting your normal size.

Was looking for a work shoe that had a little more style than your typical steel toe. Haven't owned Docs since middle school, was pleasantly surprised by the softness and cushion of the insole and outer sole. The green leather is nice and understated, although the matte/oiled finish is prone to scratches. Rubs a bit in the back of the heel, but that's something I'm used to as most of my other work shoes have been Danskos or L.L. Bean boots. Wish they had half-sizes, I'm a true 7.5, so these 7s are on the snugger end for me but 8s definitely would have been too big; will have to remove the insole during colder months to accommodate thicker socks. Easy to get on and off; some chelsea boot styles have very stiff, narrow ankles but these are a good width and very stretchy. Not 5 stars, but I'm pretty happy with them! Comfortable and stylish.

I’m usually a 10.5 in women’s and these fit perfectly, so I think they run a little big. The style is great for a safety shoe! Just what I was looking for. I have a really narrow foot, so I swim a little bit in them without a thick sock. Folks with average width feet should be great. Still keeping them!

I ordered a full size smaller than normal. It was still too long in the toe and way too narrow. Maybe it would have loosened up over time but I didn't feel like being in pain while working long days waiting for them to break in.

Feels well made, looks good and true to size. Minimal cushion/support for arch and ball of feet but great at heel. Cuff of the shoe does dig into my ankles so wear thick socks till broken in.

Great material and style! I ordered a size 8W but since they are steel toe, I felt my toes a bit uncomfortable due to them being a bit narrow towards the tip. I’d recommend you get 1/2 size or 1 full size higher. Other than that, great shoe! ?

I don’t generally need to buy wide shoes, these would be the exception. They pinch to the point they make my toes numb.

Not as feminine of a look as I was expecting. Also, I recommend getting a whole size up. Not only are these smaller, but when wearing a socks, it made them even tighter.

I wanted to love these but they were just a bit too narrow and a little long. I bought usual size. I never have trouble with width. Also they cut into my leg a little. I have bigger calves /ankles and they were uncomfortable.

I usually wear a 11 in flat boots but since all reviews say go down a size, i bought a 10 and they fit great. Not tight around the ankle & not narrow. However, the boot itself is too big. The gop of the toe is very big. It kinda looked like clown shoes when i tried them on. Unfortunately i returned them

Unfortunately i'm a solid 9.5 women's. I ordered the UK7 and it was massive. I was hopeful that these would work but because of the weight with the steel toe they really won't be comfortable unless they fit perfectly.

Wanted these for work at a construction site but they are too big so returning them. I need to explore my sizing more and may try on local then will order again. Love Zappos!

The shoes definitely require a day or so to be broken in. The shoe fits great on my right foot. The shoe fits a little awkward on my left foot, I definitely can feel the steel but would not have known without wearing them. They look great with skinny jeans and I like the padded foot bed. This is my first pair of doc martens and i think they would have been great minus the steel issue.
