I ordered this coat in a size according to TNF's size chart. Unfortunately, it was entirely too big. I had to send it back.

The coat was a great fit in the shoulders, hips, and length. Unfortunately the sleeves were way too long, coming well past my fingertips. I tried rolling them up, but they were so long that it looked ridiculous. Sadly I had to return it. For reference I am 5'1" and 105 lbs.

I have several The North Face jackets and they are all x small and fit great. I am 5’6” 115 lbs. After reading reviews of this jacket I decided to order both x small and small as reviewers said the fit was small. The x small was definitely too tight around the chest to fit a sweater underneath comfortably. The small fit much better and still looked nice but the sleeves were too long and looked sloppy.

This trench coat is very stylish and this is exactly what I was looking for in term of design and colour (I got Grey). However, the fitting is very disappointing. Is this trench designed for only skinny upper body with long arm person? The chest and arm area is too tight for an outer jacket, and the sleeves are way too long for a person like me (I am 5 feet and 108lb), so I can't even size up because the sleeves will be even longer. After long debate, I decided to keep this trench by tucking in the sleeves by the cuff strap. It's not ideal but I couldn't find any othe trench I like.

I'm sure this fits someone out there! But it also seems like The North Face used different fit models for the City Midi than its other womens' coats & jacketsmeaning if you normally have good luck with North Face outerwear, all bets are off on this one. Specifically, the proportions seem out of alignment. Quality is nice, but the fit is awkward, even after trying a couple sizes. Also, note that the "Mid Gray" color is a flat graynot the medium heather gray that's pictured in the alternate views of the item (photos 3, 4, 5, and 6 as of Jan 2019).

I love this rain jacket and how it looks! Unfortunately, despite measuring myself a few times (and having a friend measure as well), the coat didn't fit true to size. Specifically the arms were incredibly tight, severely restricting movement. Hopefully a larger size will fit...if they ever get any more in stock...

I really like this jacket. It's pretty and comfy. But I hate the length of the sleeves which run really long. I am a 5"2 lady and size XS fits me perfectly except for the sleeves. I don't know why Noth Face always makes sleeves that way, and it's really impossible to adjust the length by yourself because of that fabric and design. What a pity.

The hoodie is the problem. It does not cover your face so you really get wet. You need to pull the hoodie to the front and hold it. They could have extended a little bit the fabric to cover the face. Bought this to keep walking in Seattle in the rainy season but it is not so good.

Too small for me in a large. I do NOT wear an XL. Quality poor: afraid to unsnap snaps for fear of tearing material. Returning! Overpriced as well.

This was such a disappointment! I ordered the North Face City Midi Trench in Med in Navy. I received a Columbia trench in black. The tag on the Columbia was a North Face tag. If the good people at Zappos don't catch this mistake when I return it, then some other disappointed customer will be receiving a Columbia trench with a North Face tag on it. Can't explain how it was black instead of navy.......that should have been the first tip off when order fulfillment was processing. Sending back and re-ordering NF City Midi Trench in Med in Navy and hoping to get the right one this time. And then hoping it fits well.

Had to return - bad fit although I chose recommended size. Returns are easy though
