Bought this for a recent trip to Nashville. The weather was rainy and cloudy and didn’t want to have to carry an umbrella. I am normally a small but sized up to a medium based on other reviews. (I am 5’4 125 lbs) I was able to wear a sweater comfortably underneath. It kept me dry and I was warm enough in 50 degree temps. The black and slick material make it appear a bit dressier too. I do not wear a raincoat often but was so thankful to have purchased this for the trip. I stayed dry!

I'm a size small, 5'3", 120#, 34" bust. This was too tight across the chest and back. I'm afraid a M might look too big in other places. Looking for another style.

I feel like a million bucks in this jacket/coat. It is feminine without being tight. Generous pockets. Perfect hood. Warm without suffocating. Built to last (it seems - we'll see.) Very happy with this. I usually wear a large in shirts. I ordered an XL to allow room for wearing a sweater under the coat, and that seemed to be a good choice. I have a little extra room but would not want to go down a size.

Great item, the fabric made it look dressier. I have broad shoulders and long arms so it felt just too snug for me. I'll be returning and getting a different coat.

I really like this jacket. I originally sized up because so many reviews said it ran small. It ended up being too big so I re-ordered in my regular size and it fits perfect. For me, it's true to size. I ordered the mid-grey and it is darker than I expected.

I've been looking for a cute and functional trench rain jacket for awhile now. This fits perfectly and doesn't look dumpy. Love the color too!

Great looking jacket. Tailored and flattering. I find that all North Face is cut on the small side, so instead of my usual medium I ordered a large and it is perfect. Great lightweight jacket for rain and traveling.

Love this jacket. I found it ran a bit narrow through the midsection, but I like that it looks fitted and not frumpy.

The City Midi trench is stylish and looks good. Like other reviewers have said it runs small. I ordered a L and it was still a little on the tight side but I needed it for a trip and decided to go with it.

Very pleased with this trench by North Face. I like the snap cuffs (gives you a better fit, especially if you have short arms) and all around fit. Not as boxy as pictured. This is a perfect spring/fall trench.

After a a few trips to cold rainy weather and a Florida winter I can say I love this rain coat. I ordered a size up so I could layer jackets under it, which makes the sleeves a bit too long but keeps my hands warm. Has top and bottom zipper in case you need to sit down. The only thing I wish it had was a way to roll up the hood when not in use.

I sized up so I could fit a jacket underneath comfortably. It was the perfect travel rain coat.

I always size up with North Face and did this time as well. The rain jacket is comfortable and a nice length, providing me with the rain protection I needed in Ireland recently - and you can't go wrong with black!

This is a nice jacket with a silky lining, and snaps instead of velcro on the storm flap over the zipper which is a big plus . The medium was a nice trim fit on my 40 inch chest and hips but would not accommodate any bulky clothes underneath. The length dips down in the rear- I'd prefer a longer length overall.

I sized up because every reviewer claimed that North Face always runs small and in particular, this style was narrow and tight. That was not the case with me.....the large City Midi Trench fit just as I would expect a Large to fit. Sending back and waiting for the Medium and hoping it will fit. The sizing does not appear to be off as others claim; the fabric is soft but sturdy to repel water; the inner lining is soft and silky so the coat glides on and off nicely; the color is a true dark navy. If/when the size Med fits well and I can give it a good try, I can then comment on the features such as the sturdiness of the zipper, the hood, the sleeves at the wrist. I do like the length.....rain jackets that stop at the waist don't make much sense to me. Why be dry only from the waist up? I like that it covers you from top to at least mid-thigh.

I am 5'2" and 100 lb. so most clothing items are huge on me. I ordered this jacket in XS, and it was so tight in the shoulders that there was no chance I could layer under it, which I would need to do because this is not a warm jacket. I didn't want to order up, because then it would be too big everywhere else. Also, the hood was not adjustable despite the description saying that it was. Cute styling and nice color, but had to send it back.

This coat runs very small. I always wear a L in NorthFace and this would not even zip!

I finally decided to give in and get a rain coat after years of struggling with my umbrella. I knew I would have some pretty specific demands of this coat. It needed to be lightweight, have a tailored look to it, be breathable (I get hot easily), and have a hood that stood up a little so as to not completely ruin my attempts at a decent 'do. This jacket fits that bill perfectly! I also love the material which looks sleek and fashionable which is a challenge to find in raincoats. So thrilled with this purchase!

Fits to size and is perfect for those in between seasons in the Midwest! A lot less frumpy than a regular raincoat, and can pass for a nice casual coat even when there’s no rain.

Bought this jacket for its longer length and water proof qualities and it does not disappoint. Fit is a little small on the chest area, I bought a size up and it is a little restrictive for my more active use but would be perfect for casual rain wear. Very water and wind proof, keeps me dry and warm.

Could add another layer, price a little too high

I was surprised when this coat came and it was more of a teal than the brighter green that was online. Plus, the coat and hood lining was plum and I'm not a fan of purple. This is just my personal taste. The coat itself looked great, but not for me.
