I bought these because I needed sneakers that wouldn’t crowd my bunionettes and little toes, and this is the first pair I’ve found that filled the bill. Finally, I can return to walking and expertise without pain from tightness and rubbing. I wish more sneakers were made so that there isn’t anything that could rub or impinge on the periphery of feet. Zappos got these to me in one day, which I so appreciated because We are leaving on a 10 day trip and I didn’t have a single pair of closed toe shoes to wear that weren’t uncomfortable. Great service, as always.

The shoes are cute and stylish. The tow box is not roomy enough and the length seems to be shorter than shoes of the same size.

My feet are full of arthritis, bone spurs, hammertoes. It's very difficult to find shoes that fit and are comfortable. (I'd be shoeless if it weren't for Zappos and their generous return policy!) These shoes were absolutely perfect right out of the box - no breaking in time needed. I love them and I'm sure I'll be back for more! Thanks Zappos :)

I just placed an order for my 3rd pair of the New Balance model 420 shoes. I love them. My only slight criticism is that the sole tends to wear a slight bit faster than normal, hence I have gone through 2 pairs in the past 9 months.

Can't beat the price of this basic New Balance shoe. I need something wide after multiple foot surgeries and this fit perfectly. The shoes have taken a beating the last few months and still look nice. I'm normally a 9 wide and this 9 wide fit perfectly.

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn for walking. I did order 1/2 size larger than I normally wear. Have worn these for a couple of weeks now and they are still very comfortable to wear. Have experience no break in period. Will probably order another pair soon.

I really love these--the color is so soft, and they are very comfortable overall! I so want to keep them, but I have a problem ankle, and these just won't work. Have to return.

Really comfortable because the top of the forefoot is mostly mesh - except the shoe is slightly too short and slightly too narrow (for a wide size) so I'm about to order the next size up which I'm pretty sure will fit well. Really like the color combo. Lightweight too.

You will definitely need to order up a half size compared to what you would normally order in NB. I thought the color was black but they are more a charcoal gray but a nice looking shoe.

I typically wear a size 8.5 W in my New Balance shoes. These shoes were okay in terms of length but they were far narrower than they should have been for a wide. What really makes me frustrated is that I spent literally hours looking at the bottom photos of shoes on the Zappos site, looking for a more rounded toe and a wider toe box. The bottom of the shoe I received bears NO resemblance to the picture that is posted along with the other photos of the 420 v4. The toe is quite pointed, not rounded and the toe box was more narrow than some of the medium sizes that I've tried recently. Either they took a picture of a different shoe, or they placed the shoe in such a position that the pointed shape was not visible (farther away from the camera lens). I wish I didn't need a wide toe box, because it is a real pain (no pun intended) to find shoes that work for me. I usually have been able to rely on those pictures, but not this time. (BTW. Amazon has also started showing pictures where they turn the shoe at an angle where you can't tell whether the toe is pointed or rounded.)The first two pictures show what the toe of the shoe actually looks like and the third shows the way it appears in the Zappos photo.

Weird. This must be my 3rd pair of New Balance. I’ve always worn 7 1/2, but these felt too small in the toe. Should have listened to other reviewers

I normally wear an 81/2 W in Asics and got the same in this NB. The length was a bit short, the width was plenty wide. The heel is nearly a negative heel, it tends to make you feel like you are rocking thru your step. I don't care for that aspect in a running shoe, however, some people may really like this feature.

I thought these were really cute but unfortunately they were short in the toe box. Also, the soles felt really lumpy. It felt like there was a ridge in the foam of the heel under both feet, so if it was a defect in the design, it was on both sides. I did like the color and weight of the shoes but I couldn't keep them because there was no way those soles were going to be good for my workouts.

I liked the style of this shoe very much and had expectations of a good fit. Unfortunately, I've had problems with the width and toe box of New Balance shoes in recent years. I tried two sizes: 10.5 wide and 11 wide. The 11 was too big, and the 10.5 wide felt too narrow and a little short. I keep trying NB because they have a large selection shoes in wide. It's pretty hard to get a good fit anymore. I wish they would adjust the sizing.

Really like these sneakers for walking in! I do a lot of walking and there very comfortable!

This style was comfortable from the first time I put them on, no break in period needed. It feels secure and cushioned while walking my dog. This quality is NB shoes that I had come to expect. Recently NB consistency of sizing has been a bit erratic. But this style is true to size.

Shoes look better than the picture. They are very light weight and comfortable. I found the size right on point. Ordered them yesterday and got them today. Great customer service!!

This is my second pair because I really like these shoes. I forgot that I prefer to order a half size larger so they are the comfort level I need. If you are a size 8 and like a little more room at the toe, order this 8.5.

These in wide width were a good fit on me, and I have very wide smallish feet with high instep, and often have trouble with even wide width shoes fitting because how they're often made to scale more narrowly the smaller your feet are.

Purchased these for my mom and she loves them! She says they are like walking on air. Very lightweight and durable. Super comfy! She has a really bad bone spur and the width is perfect to accommodate for that.

They are beautiful shoes and very comfortable. They do feel slightly larger than other New Balance sneakers fo the same size.
