I should've ordered my true 8 like my beloved, old, original Molokinis, but I tried on a pair of Columbia flip flops at a store and had to size down. I'm returning these and getting the 8s instead. They are definitely not as good as the originals but they are better than anything else I've tried, such as Reef, Olukai, Oofos, and Hoka One One. Hopefully they will reconsider going back ti the old styling but at least make one that's all black. Awesome shipping and returbs from Zappos as usual.

If I could only keep one pair of shoes in my closet, I would have always chosen these .... until now! I have worn and loved these sandals since they were exclusively a Montrail product. They travel with me everywhere and have logged more miles than my sneakers. However, I recently ordered another pair. The design and feel have completely changed. After reading the other negative reviews, I decided to add my voice in the hope that the Columbia shoe design will notice. Sometimes it is best not to mess with perfection! Please hear us and go back to the winning design that we PURCHASED, wore happily and RECOMMENDED to all our friends!

I have been wearing Montrail Molokini III Recovery Sandals for years, so was very sad when they were discontinued. Then I saw that Columbia recreated them. They are just not the same. I wish Columbia would go back to the original form. I would have kept these, but my usual size is a 6, which were too small and then the 7s were too big.

Though I have only worn these around the house while trying them out, I can say the footbed is uber comfy with excellent arch support. I can see why they are recovery sandals. I wear a size 6.5. I first ordered a 7, assuming after a long hike my feet would swell. They might swell but they don't lengthen - the arch was simply in the wrong place and the sandals were too long. I returned them and ordered a 6. The arch is now in the right place, but my little toe hangs over the edge a bit and my heel is right at the very back of the sandal. They even look too small. My "yes" recommendation is for folks who wear a whole size. If you wear a half size, you might be out of luck. It's too bad, because the sandal is well cushioned, has good arch support, and holds your foot nicely. Quality seems good. It might take a bit to break in the piece between the toes and the strap that comes down the inside is stiff and rubs a bit but I think with time is would soften or you would get used to it.

I started wearing these back when Montrail owned them because my podiatrist recommended them for my foot problems. The older models were IMMEDIATELY comfortable on my feet, there was no "breaking in" period. Columbia has made changes to them with the III, and they aren't as comfortable anymore. The strap over my foot has rubbed a blister on my big toe, which never happened before. The strap is not as soft as it used to be. They also seem to run smaller. The 8 just barely fits. The internal tread is not as comfortable as the old smooth interior was. The one improvement is the tread on the bottom of the shoe, which seems to be less "slippery." I wish they'd go back to the old strap and internal top, and keep the new tread! I'm going to have to wear a bandage on the blister until these are broken in.

I have back trouble and thought these would help but they were so squishy, my back started hurting right away. Wish they had worked out but they are not firm.

My daughter loved hers, even using them or house shoes because she said the arch support is so good. They run the tops of my feet, which are quite thin, so I'm not loving wearing them.

Along with everyone else who owned the original Molokinis, I was so disappointed to learn of the structural and style changes made to the Molokini III. The original and Molokini II flip flops were bomb. I had a pair for 11 years before they blew out a couple weeks ago. I didn't like the new styling, so I opted to try out Oofos, Hoka One One, Olukai, Reef, and Rainbow flip flops before I finally backtracked & settled on the Molokini III. I did bake them in the oven as suggested but still got some redness around the big toe and top of my foot, but I am hoping that will go away quickly. They are not as good as the old ones and they are definitely ugly. But for me, they are the best thing available and I'm keeping them since I literally tried on almost everything else. The UPS guy finally asked me what was up since he was coming to my house every day with a Zappos box, LOL! Hopefully Columbia/Montrail will come out with an ALL BLACK VERSION. I don't understand why that isn't available.

As a Floridian, I wear flip flops year round and have been wearing the Molikini style since before Columbia bought out Montrail. I have owned probably 20 pair of these over the years but, sadly, will need to find a new "go to" flip flop. The older ones produced by Montrail and even the first versions created by Columbia were perfect!!! The new style is just not comfortable on my feet. The straps rub. The heel cup doesn't feel as deep or maybe it's the insole (not sure). I can wear them around the house for short periods but definitely no longer comfortable to wear to the Theme Parks or all day at a flea market. Very disappointed!!!

This sandal has changed, not the quality it used to be, mainly the strap will dig in and rub the top and inner side of your foot.

I rarely write product reviews, but I just purchased the new version of this sandal (which I am returning), and the old version of this sandal (which I am keeping). Both sandals (different colors) are the same exact size and look the same, but the newest version is slightly shorter in length and smaller in the foot-bed (almost a 1/4 inch smaller- I measured to make sure I wasn't imagining things). This makes the sandal uncomfortably tight on your foot, and causes the sandal/strap to rub against the inner part of foot as well. I'm not sure if this change is for cost cutting purposes, but like other reviewers before me, this is very disappointing. Please let us all know when you bring back the old version of this sandal!
Please Note: I have been wearing different versions of the Montrail women's sandals for 5+ years- I wear a size 9 and have a normal width foot.

I have very high arch which leads to plantar fasciitis and metatarsal pain when not supported. The original Molokini is the ONLY sandal I can wear for recovery. I was hoping these would work, but the footbed is smaller and more contrived and the piece between the toes rubbed a sore. PLEASE PLEASE bring back the original Molokai!

I have loved the Montrail version of these for years - probably have had 10-15 pairs of them. I wore them year-round, and in all conditions - they were perfection and went with me everywhere. The new 'hybrid' Columbia version is inferior - the only reason I'm leaving a review is so that Columbia may read this and go back to the original Molokini.

So sad that Columbia has ruined the original Montreals. I'm sending them back because they were so uncomfortable. Very little arch support and they felt much smaller. Please, please make this like they use to be.

I have worn this sandal for years as it is the only one that works on my feet. I even wear to the Disney parks all day without my feet hurting. This new design is horrible. The strap does not fit across the foot in the same location which hurts. The two tone sole is ugly and no where near and comfy as the previous sandal. I have worn out about 30 pair of the previous design. Not sure what I am going to do for a flip flop now because I wear them year around.

These are nothing like the original Montrail Molokini flip flops...they shouldn't be sold under the same name. Nothing about them is as comfortable as the original design. I should know I've purchased over 20 pair over the last 10 years. They are the only flip flops I can wear without pain and my last 5 pair are now so worn out I'm no longer getting pain relief. Sure wish you would bring back the heat molded foam style.
