First of all, I was surprised by how lightweight these shoes are! I normally get a pair of the regular Birks but decided to try these this summer instead and I have to say they are more comfortable than the regular ones. Very happy with this purchase.

Feels good!

This is my first pair of essentials, but I own several pairs of the cork footbed ones in Gizeh and recently I purchased a pair of the Mayari. I measure a size 8, and I wear a 38 in all the cork footbed ones. But they didn't have the 38 in the color I wanted, so I tried a 39, and they fit great! I have tried 39's in cork foorbeds but the arch was too long for me and they were super painful. But these footbeds 1)don't feel like they have the same aggressive arch height so they work for me and 2)they are so much softer than traditional corks and I feel like that is why the 39 in these work for me. I was a little hesitant to get these because I was worried about the farting noise other reviewers mentioned, but it isn't any worse than my traditional cork ones. I notice it more when my feet are wet, but if they are dry they don't do it. I was going to just get one pair, but now that I know how awesomely comfortable they are I think I will get another pair in another color!

These shoes are great! I have them with the cork bottom, but wanted an option I could take to the beach and lake. They're just as comfortable, and will be easy to wash. Even better, I won't worry about them getting wet! I've been wearing them around the house for arch support while cleaning, etc and they keep my low back from hurting from standing on the hard wood floors for long periods of time.

These shoes are better than I expected. I originally bought them for pool/lake/muddy summer activities, since you can just hose them off. But they are so comfortable that I wear them as my house shoes as well. I work from home and have a standing desk, so I stand in these quite a lot during the day and my feet feel great! I got the same size as my other Birkenstock’s and they fit great.

These fit true to all Birkenstock shoes which tend to run a size big. These are very comfortable and light weight. They have been perfect for the beach and to be worn around the water. I would defiantly order these again.

Love these! They are great for around the water so you don’t ruin your regular birks and I love the pop of color! I normally wear a 7-7.5 in other shoes but I prefer my birks smaller so the 6-6.5 was perfect for me!

These shoes are perfect for the beach or lake! I wore mine in the water. Then got out and walked around. No blisters. They are so lite you forget you’re wearing shoes!!!!

Amazing and perfect!

Similar to other reviewers, I felt these ran big. My EU size is typically 37 (Dansko, Sanita), sometimes 37.5. My US size is typically a 7 (Chaco flip flops, Merrell boots). I ordered both a 37 and a 36 in the Birkenstock Gizeh Essentials and am keeping the 36. I've been using these as indoor summer house shoes for 3 weeks. I'm 1.5 months post partum and my feet are sensitive and easily tired/sore walking barefoot around the house (never bothered me before). These Birkenstocks seem to help ease the discomfort. It took me a couple days to be OK with the toe piece. The price was right and I like that they are easy to slip on/off and they can be rinsed clean.

Love the look of these! They have actually gotten more comfortable after a few wears.

I love my Birken-Crocks! Despite wearing Birks for decades, I've never gone for a Gizeh before, so I can't say if this is unique to the material or if it's true if all Gizeh, but these are just barely wide enough for me. Still, I've been living in them this summer -- everything from sloppy in the garden to slightly dressed up in jeans to go for a casual dinner. A big win

I LOVE my Gizeh's and own 3 pairs these are the 4th. Generally when I purchase Birk's I buy 1 size smaller b/c once you break them in they will stretch out especially with the cork soles so I was a little apprehensive doing that for a plastic pair but they fit just right. And the lilac color is stunning.

More comfortable than I had even anticipated! I am a long time Birk wearer/lover and was excited when they came out with this plastic sandal as they are perfect for all things summer. I avoided wearing my other pairs at the lake and so forth because I didn't want them to get wet, and this sandal totally fits the bill! I will say however I am a size 38 in my other Birks, so I ordered a 38 in this one as well. Unfortunately they fit a bit smaller so I had to return/exchange them for a 39. Otherwise I am happy with my purchase!

Perfect

Perfect! Just what I was expecting.

I really wanted to be able to use these shoes. I have dreamed about Birkenstocks for many years and have tried them several times. Unfortunately, they do not work for my feet and ankles. I wear custom orthotics and the Birkenstock footbed just doesn't give the correct support to meet my needs. I do think people will like these sandals. I think ordering one size smaller is better as the pair I ordered, according to the size chart, was too long in the heel.

I wear a 10 or 10.5 medium normally, but the 41s were too big. The 40s fit perfectly.

I am very pleased with the Birkenstock Gizeh. These are my first pair of Birkenstock Essentials. They fit similarly to my other Birkenstock sandals but have more of a Croc feel underfoot. I wear an 8 1/2 mostly but sometimes a 9 in running shoes and ordered these in a 39. The coral color is super cute and the toe post is not bothersome at all.

Were as pictured on the foot of other people. But the knob at and flange on the thong post could be felt while walking around the house. So would become an issue if worn for a while outside. Also does that trapped air thing that plastic shoes sometimes do. So returned.

Great fit; just as comfortable as traditional Birkenstock’s, but water resistant - bonus!

I am a size 7 and had to go down a size in this style.
