My firtst pair of Ahnu Montara's I hiked all through Patagonia and loved them! They were so comfortable, waterproof and supportive. I've had several pairs since I wear through them. I am HIGHLY disappointed since Teva bought them as others have mentioned. I did one hike in them and they hurt so bad across the top of my one foot I was sore for days. You might say it's because they needed to be broken in better but I did break them in on short hikes and thought the same thing...they will get better and they never did! I'm so sad because like others these were my go to boot :(

Stiff and uncomfortable fit. Pushes me on my shin, and there are a few pressure points on the top front of my feet.
It's a solid construction though, and good style.

I have been a huge fan of Ahnu boots since buying my first pair around 5 years ago: no blisters, extremely lightweight and very durable. Completely changed my relationship with hiking. My first pair lasted nearly four years of decently frequent use and pretty heavy mileage at times. However, since Teva and Ahnu have partnered, the quality has declined immensely and I no longer recommend this product. My second pair (this pair) lasted barely 4 months of moderate use before holes, ripped seams, and leather damage occurred that were so extensive that my local shoe repairman said there was nothing he could do. While I still found them comfortable and lightweight, I simply can't afford to replace them every few months because the company is cutting corners on quality. I have since been buying used pairs of the original high-quality Ahnu version of this boot online and will continue to do so unless Teva ups the durability of this boot. Overall, very disappointed and frustrated with this new model. I think the previous version was one of the best outdoor products out there, my favorite pair of shoes, and I'm sad to see them go.

I have been a trusted Ahnu wearer and supporter since 2014. I have had three of the original pairs of the Montara. I bought one immediately when I saw that Teva had bought out Ahnu, fearing this would happen. I work outdoors and these get heavy use, I have also worked in NP's previously and hiked hundreds of miles in the old boots each year. These new boots are a tragedy. I used to never have to "break-in" my old boots. These new ones are still uncomfortable after months. The toe box is too narrow. I've never had that issue before. They also don't offer the same comfortable support that my old pairs did. I used to tell everyone about how amazing Ahnu's were. Truly disappointed. Bring back the old ahnu's. :(
