The only problem I had was when I wore the sandal on the beach. It is perfect all other times.

These used to be better-made. The footbed is now too soft and mushy, with not enough arch support, leading to foot fatigue. The footbeds used to be sturdier and more comfortable. The straps aren't long enough for wide feet, so there's that awful velcro exposed, catching on everything. They need to make matching belts and possibly other matching accessories. There's virtually no way to get a belt to match these shoes. The nylon webbing designs are pretty much all lame, and make you look like a left-wing-nut. For the obscene price, these are disappointing.

I love the color and it was comfortable to wear once the straps were tightened correctly. It is cushy and gave a bit of a bounce to my step.
Despite the sole being the right size for my foot, the straps for the heel were too long. I'm using less than 50% of the Velcro, the rest of the strap hanging off into the air. Also, the triangle strap connector located at the little toes ribs against the toes, causing blisters over time. Since I've only had them for a few weeks and have only gone on a few hikes with them, I don't know if it takes an adjustment (or callousing) period to prevent the pain and rubbing of the triangle piece against the little toes. I'll continue to wear these hiking for now, but they may be relegated to short hikes or walking around town.
Also, they can be a bit slippery when wet.

This style just isn't for me. I have to tighten all the straps a lot in order to keep my foot from sliding forward and that makes them uncomfortable especially around the toes.

I loved the multi colors, but unfortunately they no longer have the color I wanted. I have chosen another as I want to see if these offer more support than the original Tevas. Am very disappointed that my color choice is no longer available. .

The shoe looks great and fits great all except for the crease that goes across the ball of the foot area. The line on that part of the sole hurt my foot every time I walked on it, to the point that I just had to return them. Super sad about it. If you can stand to deal with the crease then its an awesome shoe!

I count on my old Hurricanes for balance and grip when working on our hilly 1/2 acre. The new Hurricane XLT2 doesn't even come close. It's too wide to tighten the front without the velcro hanging over the edge of the shoe...Not the look I was going for...And, I don't have wide feet.

I really wanted these to work, but as someone has has chronic back issues and current foot pain, these sandals just didn't offer enough support to justify the cost. I also worried that they wouldn't hold up well/be well suited to the outdoor activities I do regularly.

Either there's too much room in front before strap or sole is thin enough that it separates a little from my foot and can cause me to stumble if not careful. Had this problem with my first super cheap Tevas. My last pair had more support and lasted well but choices were limited this time.

I really wanted to love these Tevas. I've been trying to replace an old pair from years ago, which I absolutely love. Unfortunately, Teva keeps making changes to its sandals and these changes are not always for the better. These Hurricane XLT2's would have been perfect for me except for one problem: on the footbed, right at the ball of the foot, there are two grooves. These grooves pinch the sole of my foot when walking, making these shoes very uncomfortable for me. I wish that Teva would bring back some of the older footbed styles, or at least get rid of these grooves at the ball of the foot. I'm going to try the leather Terra Fi Lites, since that footbed appears to not have those horrible grooves....fingers crossed!

Suggest you go back to original Teva sandals for a look at construction. Padded toe connection, soft straps. And rubber, not synthetic soles.

I was really hoping to love the Teva Hurricane XLT2...but it was not to be. I don't understand why Teva keeps changing the design of sandals that worked for ones that are nowhere near as comfortable. I did like that the Hurricane XLT2 was not as wide in the toe area as a lot of the newer Teva sandals -- most of them are now ridiculously wide and stupid-looking. Who needs an extra half inch of footbed around your toes??? Unfortunately, the footbed of the Hurricane XLT2's has this funny little "line" cutout that is right under the ball of the foot and pinches like crazy when you walk. UGH. If it wasn't for that, I would have kept these since the Hurricane XLT2 has come the closest to the fit and comfort of my beloved original Tevas.

I own 2 pair of Tirras and 2 pair of Original Universals and I love them all! Despite the fact that these share the same strap design as the Universal, I could not find a way to adjust these that didn't blister my right foot terribly. I don't have any special requirements, -no bunions or the like. I'm not sure why these straps blister when my universals don't. I'm guessing that the wider base is the cause as the blisters were on the side of my foot. ? The cushioning on these is fantastic and even with the additional cushioning in back, they did not aggravate my Achilles. I'm super disappointed to return them but look forward to a new pair of Tirras, my all time favorite sandals!

Some reviews have remarked about how the tevas seem to run wide and yes they are true. I have narrow feet so these shoes dwarfed my feet at the front.

I like the look for this kind of sandal, and the size was fine, though there was only a little arch support. My problem was they are very stiff so I felt they were not comfortable to walk around in and one of the straps was kind of rubbing my toe. I thought that might lead to a blister, so I went with a different style of Teva.

The front strap is positioned so far back on the foot that my foot was sliding forward, off the front edge of the sandal, even with the ankle strap reasonably snug. Sadly, I had to return them.

The shoe is really great. But the color, Bright White, is yellowing right from the factory.

If you look at the photo on the website of this sandal, as if you are looking down on them, and also the 3/4 view, you will see 2 lines that cut across the forefoot. These lines cut into your forefoot as you walk. It gives an odd sensation; like the sandal is bending or breaking at that point, or your skin is getting pinched. It was not uncomfortable, just very annoying. It tried wearing them inside for a few hours and the sensation did not disappear, so I had to return them. It might not bother other people like it did me. Other than that weird design, these sandals were very comfortable.

The soul of this sandal is quite large. There is generous border beyond your foot, especially around the front half of the foot. So even though the sandal was very comfortable, I didn’t like the look at all and thought it might make me more likely to stumble.

I love my old Teva's, but after many years of use I needed to replace. Couldn't find same style in stores so I went to the website. Ordered same size as old ones. Come to find out there is a significant difference in the new size 8. Much smaller then the old size 8. I could not wear. Keep in mind when ordering. Still love Teva's but must make the adjustment next time.

I have previous versions of the Hurricane. I wore them for years, mostly at our house on a lake, whenever on the beach, in the water, or on a boat, and ordered these to replace a pair that was worn out with the sole separating from the base after years of gallant performance. The shape changed dramatically in this version. The ball of my foot is fairly wide, although not wide enough to order "wide" sizes, and these sandals were wide on my foot. The outside curve of the previous version was tapered from the maximum width at the base of the toes to above the first toe, while this version is very rounded to remind me, as a previous reviewer noted, of clown shoes and make me concerned about tripping. The front strapping also does not cross my foot in a location to be as secure. I returned these and purchased the Teva Tirra, which is a much better fit, with more secure strapping, better arch, trimmer profile around the toes, and better looking so I can also wear them out to more places. The Tirra also seems to have a more contoured foot bed and better roll when walking. One thing the Tirra is lacking compared to the Hurricane is an adjustable back heel strap, but that hasn't been a problem in feeling secure on my foot. Depending on your individual foot shape, though, the Hurricane XLT2 may work for you.
