I have worn this particular Merrell shoe for 20+ years, and I always have at least a couple of colors in rotation. It is my go-to comfort shoe. The current Encore Breeze is very different in size and comfort. The toe box is much narrower. I noticed this the minute I took them out of the box even before I tried them on. I thought maybe mine had just stretched out, but the bottom of the sole is significantly narrower than the shoe I have bought and loved for many years. I guess this is the end of a long run, and I will have to start the expensive, time consuming process of finding another nice looking, supportive comfort shoe for daily wear. Much disappointed, even distressed about this change. (FYI, I doubt if anybody thinks the contrasting color swish along the side of the sole is an improvement. Most women I know wear this Merrell shoe as a comfortable option that doesn't look too out of place with workplace clothes, i.e. nice slacks etc. If I wanted to wear something that looks like a running shoe, I would just wear one.)

Did not work for very high arch. Also felt stiff. Sent back.

I have worn this shoe for many years. I have severe arthritis in my feet and they were the only shoe I could comfortably get on my unbending foot and wear the entire day with no pain. The arch and foot bed was that of highly supportive athletic shoe but the style could be worn for all occasions. UNTIL Merrell changed the foot bed. They now have almost no support and slop on and off like a flip flop. Very uncomfortable. Purchased in April, I have tried numerous times, with socks, without socks, even purchased inserts to try to get more contour and support in this shoe. Back in the box in the closet. Alas, I have today returned them and will not again purchase Merrell. Thank you Zappos for your flexible return policy! I truly did try all I could think of to keep these shoes.

This is my 3rd or 4th Encore. I'm disappointed that the fit is narrower and the shoe much stiffer and right over the instep. I checked to be sure I ordered the same size as in the past. I hope it stretches (not yet though).

I have worn Merrell Encore shoes for about 10 years. A few years ago, when I tried to re-order, I found the shape of the toe had been changed making it narrower in the toe. Ok, I have a couple pair like that. Now...the heel is designed wider. Have become ‘Generic’-fitting shoes. Too bad.

The first one I bought was a W width and was way too big. Next, I bought the same size in M width - the clogs are tight and it seems shorter than it should. My heel sits on the ridge at the back. I bought these because they were recommended for arch support. There isn't any. Others commented that this style has been changed and isn't providing comfort or arch support like the older version. I don't recommend.

Agree with other comments, this is not the same shoe as it was for many years, disappointing.
The heel portion is larger, falling off my heel when walking. I would say there is no arch support or any other kind of support either. Kept them this time but will not purchase again.

I love these shoes—now that I spent an additional $35 for proper arch supports. That is why I had to mark them down. The shoes are cute. They are just what I was looking for to do errands. I have them on now! But, I was looking to save money and bought them on sale. Sure, I could have sent them back but I needed something quickly so opted to keep and pay more $$ for arch help.

Larger than previous model of this shoe. I own 2 pairs of the original and these are very different. They are stiff/hard to walk on and they are extremely wide. Feet swim in the shoe.

I have other Merrell styles that are very comfortable and I can walk all day without discomfort, but I was not able to walk 5 steps in the Merrel Encore. Very disappointing.

When I purchased these shoes I was hoping to replace those I've been wearing for about 10 years. Unfortunately, I had to return them because the back part of the shoe didn't hold my foot and they lack arch support. The shoes were like flip-flops compared to those I still wear, I guess I'll have to continue wearing the old ones until the part that holds my heel completely wears out!

I have been wearing Merrell clogs for many years and each time I order a new pair they have cut back on the materials plus creating and inferior product. I ordered this shoe in both a 9.5 and 10. The heel is lower than previous Shoes and slides off regardless of the size. The tens were too big and 9.53 small. Very disappointing,

I have worn the Primo Breeze shoe for about 6 or 7 years and own 4 pairs in various colors. About a year ago I bought 2 new pair (now called Encore Breeze) and they are NOT the same even though they certainly look alike. They are narrower and have less cushioning. Very disappointed. I returned one pair and kept one, hoping it would "break in", but it has not. Please bring back the original.

I have been wearing the Encore Breeze 3 for years. When I tried to order that item, the Encore Q2 Breeze came up as a substitute(or the newer version) Not only does it cost $15 more, it is not the same shoe. The sole is completely different and the back is different. I did not like the Encore Q2 and I returned it. Would very much like to reorder the shoe I have been wearing for years.

I loved the color. However, these are more narrow than the other encore breeze style that I have. Very disappointed . Please go back to the other style.

I wore my old ones all over the world. The new ones are not comfortable, particularly the band across the top of my foot. I have worn them for quite awhile to break them in with no relief. They are the right size. I have tried other sizes.
My question:
Can you please explain the changes made in making the new ones and also the difference in the materials used? Thank you.

I have purchased at least 3 pairs of the Encore Breeze. The latest version Q2 is just not engineered correctly and they are way too big in the back. I prefer a heeled shoe and the earlier version of the slip ons acted like they had a heel....I need another pair so not sure what to do at this point....please return to the former style.

I have owned breeze shoes for years and always purchase a 9.5 med. The new model breeze q2 is small. My toes on both feet touch the end of the toe box. This never happened in previous models. If I purchased a size 10 they would fall off my feet because they would be too wide. Very disappointed. Won't buy the breeze again until Merrell updates the model again. What a shame.

Desperately looking for a durable walking shoe for summer. I bought these early in the intro and the band across the top is very tight and they lacked support. I have a great cobbler but don't feel it should require alterations - which I paid dearly for so they would fit. Still wearing them and love the Caribbean blue color - which you no longer have. Merrell, please continue with your good features and stop trying to cheapen them up every time you ask for bids!! This shoe would be a great 'go to style' - just stop meddling with it. Nothing out there right now that I can't live without - the brands are really missing it. Too many strappy things for far too much money.

The only problem with these shoes previously was that the fabric on the collar rubbed off and the grayish white material underneath showed and looked odd. It seems Merrill may have fixed this problem only to create a worse one with this new version of these shoes. The sole is significantly narrower than it used to be and the edges of the soles slightly more curved. This may look more streamlined but feels noticeably unbalanced. I returned these shoes. I'd be happy to buy them again as I have for the last 12 years over and over if Merrill would go back to the previous soles.
Unimpressed,

I so wanted to love these. From the start they felt awkward and uncomfortable. I hoped that I would get used to them but I don't think I will. I'm going to buy a different insole for them but I doubt that will help. I definitely feel like the sizing is weird.

I have a few pairs of these shoes. When I ordered new ones, they were at least 1/2 inch shorter, toe to heel. What is THAT about?

My first pair of Merrell’s felt great from the moment I tried them on. I bought 3 more pair over the next couple of years. I replaced two pair of 10 year old Encore Breeze with a new pair. The appearance was the same. They felt tight at first wearing and within an hour my feet were burning. I am very disappointed.
