Very lightweight, I almost forget I'm wearing shoes. Maybe a little tight and stiff but it might break in with time???
Great service from Zappos as always.

great fitting shoes, I bought for our upcoming trip to Iceland , Sweden and Norway. Only problem is zero water resistance. A walk with the dog in the grass in the morning gets you soaking wet forefoot and socks. Anyone have anything that will help shed some water and make these shoes awesome? I have tried Graingers footwear repel, but it was useless.

quite active 54 yo male w 11 yo boy, love these shoes for all outdoor activities, short of sports. I've found that the stiff ball of foot area of this approach shoe has saved my feet several times. yeah, they pucker at the toe, but peeling rubber? The uppers wrap my feet nicely. I have two and haven't been able screw up either pair, yet. Materials and build quality are what separates these fro other approach shoes.

I bought a pair of these shoes last fall and used them several times while climbing at the new river gorge. They are hands down one of the best approach shoes I have tried. The grip that the shoe has on the sandstone rocks while hiking in to the crag is unreal. I never had an issue. The are also quite supportive and comfortable .

I have found this shoe to do what it is meant to do, and not what it not meant to do. Super light and breathable. Not water proof though, which i would like to upgrade to the GTX for that added comfort. Early morning hikes with dew and these let the water through. GTX would keep my feet dry in these conditions.
Nice and comfortable straight out of the box, no break in period for me. Loving them for everyday use, craging and mellow hiking.
Fun all round shoe that lets my feet breathe really well.

I love how light this show is! When I clip them to my harness or stuff them in my pack I really appreciate how light they are.
And thus far, after about 8 months of use, it's proving to be one of the most durable approach shoes I've worn in 18 years! I work as a full time professional mountain guide and I expect to get at least 2 years out of them, more than most other approachers I've had in the past.
It's not quite as stable on long approaches with bigger packs as the Konseal AR but it does well in all other categories. I've frequently climbed up to 5.6 in them in many ranges and they due well- they are sticky, the toe box in slim and they edge well. Due to the fact that they are a 1/2 size too big for me, they don't front point as well as I'd hoped.

Just right after the purchase I went to the hiking on Sent Hellen trail. 5 miles for the first time and felt very comfortable. It's easy to clean.
Going to wear it on a hiking and also for everyday walking.
Satisfied completely.

Comfortable right out of the box. On day one they managed a stream crossing, scree, wet roots and slabs. The non-goretex version breathes easily and dries quickly. While they aren't steezy enough to pair with a suit, one can still be seen in them in public.

Purchased as an all around mountain shoe (minus heavy backpacking) and wasn't disappointed. I've taken these on big scrambles, alpine rock up to 5.6, and a bit of trail running. They're much more nimble on technical terrain than a hiking boot when climbing shoes aren't needed yet.

Shoes fit great and true to size. Lots of support and once broken in they fit like a glove. They're very well made.
My only gripe is that the picture shown for the shark color. Looks to be a grey tone in the photo. In really life it's purple in most lighting. If the shoe is purple you should represent it that way. It was extremely disappointing when I opened the box. Had to return for the blue.

I'm very picky about shoes and am very impatient
shopping for them but these shoes really fit the
bill, my work as a cameraman finds me in varied
locations and if I go out socially at night they are
appropriate.

Surprisingly rugged. Good for scrambling around and even low-low-grade climbing. Also good in hiking. Supported a hike with 35-45lb pack (I'm about 130lbs and weight changed because climbing rope and materials were passed off). As I was coming down from mountain and could see car, feet started screaming, but prior to that an elevation gain and descent of 6000' and some scrambling and light climbing worked well in these. They are longer than I am accustomed to, so I dropped a full size, and until I broke them in (and arguably even after), narrow. I prefer wider shoes, but after break-in, these didn't bother me (any tighter and they would have though). For reference, in la sportiva I am a comfy 41 in most models, and for these I ordered a 7, their smallest offering, but that was a fine fit.
