Bought these for daily use in the foothills of the Rockies where terrain is diverse. Very comfortable fit with efficient transfer of energy from foot to secure traction on ground. Nimble yet provides the security of a sure step.

One of the most comfortable shoes I own! A must have!! I will order another pair soon. Currently using them to stand and walk at work, but will soon hit the trails with them and I'm almost certain that expectations will be met as arcteryx never disappoints!

More striking then the incredibly streamlined and distinctive design and build, are the fitment and the sole. The sole has an EXTREMELY effective tread for a variety of surfaces and terrains, and protects the foot well against interior deformation from hard objects (e.g. bonebruising from smaller rocks with a softer sole). The combination of sole and fitment combines to yield a shoe that works well with my wider feet (previous Arc'Teryx shoes did not) and athletic toe-splay, while not having excess volume remaining for debris to intrude into or for blisters to rise from. The closest shoe I can compare it to is the long-discontinued Patagonia Rover approach shoe. I'm already shopping about for a far-future pair of Konseal FL's, as this is my "terrain unknown" shoe for the forseeable future. Absolutely a good return for the investment.

I wore these, brand new, on a trip to the Big Island of Hawaii where it was worn almost daily. It was rainy for most of my stay there. These shoes performed amazingly on hikes through forest and rocky terrain, especially on the lava fields where it maintained incredible grip on the lava rock wet from the constant drizzle. They did get wet from the rain but dried impressively quickly. I was carrying a ~30lb (13.6kg) pack for most of the hikes and felt perfectly supported and comfortable.

Love these shoes. I had the Acrux a while back and did not like the heel set up. They felt too bulky. I can wear these on the trail, at work or on the streets in pants and shorts of all types and they look sleek. I went with the Shark/Utility color and reminds me of LEAF wolf color almost. Never been a fan of the brighter colors. These are my new favorite shoe and perhaps my new favorite Arc LEAF or civilian piece. I am providing a photo compare how low profile they are compared to a similar shoe that I used for gym use, the Nike Metcon 2.

I've had two pairs of these so far and they are wonderful one pair for about 10 months and the newer one for about 4, I mostly use them for walking / hiking where they are stiffer then a similarly light weight running shoe but don't have the stiffness / weight of a boot. I have one complaint however that is consistent across the two pairs that I have had so far. The loop sown in the back wears through the lining of the heel counter far earlier then the rest of the shoe begins to significantly wear. if the strap slightly longer and were sown down the heal counter instead it would not wear out the liner or your socks. the ripstop upper is far more durable then I would have expected, the rubber rand scuffs lighting but only cosmetically and the adhesive will slowly be exposed around the rand where the upper and the rand are mechanically tensioned while moving, these are pretty superficial wear items as far as overall durability goes.

When Patagonia made shoes, they had a model called the Rover which was built as a scrambling, approach, and minimalist running shoe. I loved that shoe as it was light, comfortable and forgiving. When I saw the Konseal FL, I thought this would be a good try. The build and style are top notch. Where the Rover was a minimalist shoe, this is definitely built for more of a hard core approach. The design of the upper and last reminds me of wearing a Red Wing shoe - it takes a while to break in but once you do, it is bulletproof. For me, I would suggest that the shoe designers back off the ultra support and give a bit more movement so it does not require such a long break in time. If you can come across a pair of the Patagonia Rovers, break them down to study the last and support. If you can combine your build and sole height of the Konseal with the freedom of the Rover, you will, in my mind, have the perfect hiking/scrambling shoe.

I own this in both size 12 and 9.5. The large size is for everyday use, think casual Friday urban wear. I also own a pair that I use for rock climbing. The snug 9.5 conforms to my narrow foot and is fine for climbing into the 5.10s. The shoe has a narrow toe box, good edging, and is surprisingly good as a true climbing shoe. Something to consider: try on a much smaller size and see what you think.

Arc'teryx: Please offer a GoreTex version soon!

Took these shoes on a 9 hour long difficult hike/scramble. They were perfect all the way until I had to descend as the shoe has very tiny lugs on the heel and mid-sole, making it hard to brake when going down steep rubble, dirt, and scree. These were amazing when ascending/descending slabs at a 5.2 grade, and definitely gave me more confidence on the rocky terrain. The low profile toe allowed me to slide my foot into cracks easily. Only blisters caused on the first trek with these were caused by my descent down on the final scree. I had one bloody blister on-top of my toe because of the very steep decline grade pushing my toes into the front of the shoe. Overall the shoe is very comfortable, my heel had zero issues, and the blister I got, could have been avoided if I were to do switchbacks.

I bought this shoe 6 months ago. They fit me pretty snug, but once they were worn in worked well. The toe cap started de laminating after a few months of everyday wear. As usual Arc'teryx came through with exceptional customer service. My shoe laces were extremely long (Not sure if all approach shoes come like that?) but a simple cut and burn fixed the problem. I had to skip my climbing this year because of travel restrictions, but they worked well mountain biking and around town.

Overall a great fitting shoe that you can wear out in the mountains and into down at night. I wish it came in a Gore Tex version as this would make it much better. Head a few other people saying the same thing.

Huge fan of Arc'teryx clothing. Bomb proof. But, these shoes failed me after 5 short months of very moderate wear. I must say, they are very comfortable, and fit great. The negative, the adhesive around the shoe is separating badly and the soles are wearing out. Again, love the brand, but this is not good for the adhesive to be failing this early.

I've bought those on april 2018. I found them very comfortable, but after 1.5 season, they looks like you can see on pictures. And they were used only as every day shooes, I really wonder, how fast they'd be like this if I ever take them for mountain hiking. To be honest, I expected more from Arcteryx

The ties keep loosening, one needs to re-tie 5 times a day. The most ridiculous problem I have ever seen with a shoe. DO NOT BUY!!!!!

Died in One Summer Hard UseThese shoes are stylish and well-fitted. HOWEVER, I use my approach shoes for... you know... approaching mountain objectives. These shoes simply are not durable enough for this application. If you want to wear them around town, they rock. These were my primary approach shoe for the summer of 2020. I completed a number of bigger climbs in Rocky Mountain National Park using these shoes. Alpine approaches involving 5-10 miles of hiking roundtrip, including talus scrambling, Class 3, etc. Sometimes snow. I will climb the occasional pitch in my approach shoes too, why not? Anyways, before the summer was fully up, both shoes had cracked toe caps and one shoe tore at the toe stitching and developed a hole you could stick your big toe through. 100 miles, give or take. Arcteryx refused to warranty the shoe and Rock and Resole said it was beyond them. Bummer.

The rubber on the toe cap started separating from the upper on my second hike. The shoe is good looking, but seems cheaply made.
