Hi Everybody, Wow. These were so uncomfortable. Sadly I wore them on a walk so couldn't return them but now I look and them with snake eyes on my shelf. I need to give them away but I feel bad for the poor sucker that finds them in the freebox. I am a repeat Merrell buyer but these babies were bad news. Flat, hard, mean little suckers. The only redeeming quality is that they are cute mean little suckers. But, hey, we all know the truth: looks ain't everything. At least not for this middle-aged walker. Love and feet, HB

I am looking for hiking shoes for a walking intensive trip to France. I ordered these in an 8 1/2 and a 9, because usually I wear one of these 2 sizes. I didn't even bother to try on the 9, because my feet were swimming in the 8 1/2. There was also a huge amount of space between the top of my foot and the show. The shoes just felt extra "puffy," like they had a huge amount of extra space. The colors are great but I also worried whether they too much and would take over every outfit I wore. I'm sending both pairs back.

This is a pretty wide shoe (which was perfect for me). I have flat wide feet and bunions. Usually need wide width but needed waterproof shoes for a hiking trip. Took a chance on these and they worked out great! A little pressure on my bunions the first day but relaxed by the second. Kept me dry but never tried them in a downpour.

At first I thought I made a size mistake and thought they were too big. I considered sending them back and exchanging. I wanted them to big enough to wear hiking but there seemed to be too much heel room. After wearing them for about a week I am happier with them. I love the colors!

I wear a size 7.5 My feet are a B width but my ankles are somewhat narrow. This shoe fit my feet perfectly. The design and style is just as pictured. I have had these shoes now about 2 months. I could not ask for a better fitting shoe or more stylish. My one con about this shoe and something no one else seems to be describing is that with every step for some unknown reason to me these shoes "squeak". For that reason...I have to take away one star. I did not return them because they fit my feet so well and I love the fruit punch style and colors.

I have wide feet with a high arch and a high instep. I was worried about these shoes, since they don't come in a wide. But I found them comfortable right out of the box - and have since hiked (and run) many miles of trails in these shoes. Worth every penny!

My foot is a size 8 wide with a narrow b heel; obviously shoe fit can be challenging. These fit perfectly, the laces allow the adjustments for the fit and the shoe box is roomy. There is no slip, or binding. I wore them for 12 hours straight out of the box in the house, fearing the worst. Didn't happen. Went for a hike in the cold wet slush, feet remained dry, and surprisely warm. Definitely would buy these again.

I loved everything about the shoe except that it rubbed on my left foot arch. The right foot shoe felt perfect. Sometimes I think it could be my feet. I decided to return them and go back to old faithful-Keen.

I was trying to replace a Merrell High top, water resistant sneaker that felt as comfortable as slippers and was fantastic for day hiking. Of course, Merrell no longer made that shoe and this seemed the closest I could find. Total disappointment. The shoe felt hard and stiff, and the toe box was huge. Returned and have switched to another brand.

Great shoe I did a lot of hiking in them and they were very comfortable.

I love the utility of this shoe! I have walked through wet grass and a lot of mud without getting my feet wet. I use them for golfing and hiking. They are holding up very well.

This is my first pair of Merrells. I needed a comfy, all terrain, waterproof pair of hiking shoes for a planned trip to to Macchu Picchu ruins in Peru next month. These shoes fit the bill precisely. They feel a quarter size too big, but my inserts help and it's not a deal breaker.

I bought the Merrill MQM Flex GTX because I need a shoe with a firm sole (for walking on cobblestones), and also needed a shoe to keep my feet dry if walking out in the rain or muddy trails. I anticipated those conditions for an upcoming 6 week European vacation that included Ireland as well as Florence, Italy. I just returned from my vacation and I am happy to report that the shoe lived up to my expectations. My foot is borderline-wide, so I just made adjustments in the shoelace. I stepped in puddles, walked in rain, and throughout my feet remained dry. Last year I had problems with my achilles tendon, so I needed a shoe with stable, firm support. I used insoles in the shoe, walked on more cobblestoned sidewalks and streets, and had no problems with my feet. And that was walking a minimum of 10,000 steps a day; often more. The shoe is a hiking shoe, so it doesn't have the most cushioned or soft interior, like my Clark's, but my feet were happy.

For some reason, the GTX fits larger in the toe box than the non-GTX. I tried the same size multiple times and all the same. Unfortunate.

little bit big in the toe area for me, but i have small size 5 feet and a little narrow. but it'll be good for when i do long hikes in these when my feet might swell a bit. definitely can where thicker socks in these no problem. Would like to feel more cushion in the ball of the foot. I am going to see if i can add another insole or switch it out for a thicker more memory foam one. Super cute shoe though.

Fit very strange. Toe box huge, way too big even for a wide foot.

Ordered 7 different Merrell low walker/hiker shoes, and these were the ones I kept. I was looking for a shoe which didn't look like a hiking boot, which could serve as a walking, low-stress hiking, and travel shoe.

This shoe seems very comfortable right outside of the box. Most waterproof shoes are stiff, but these are flexible. I have wide feet, so the toe box is comfortable on me as well as the width, but may be a bit wide for those with average width-sized feet.

Sit perfect. Foot & heel support super reliable and comfortable. Flat lace untied. Lightweight and really breathable. These run a little wide but its normal for this type of shoes. In the morning, the leg rested, in the evening after 6–9 hours hiking by the mountains, the foot swells, broken... and increases in size. The most important thing is to sit in length and the foot does not swim. and a little loose in width is normal. Overall, my impression can be expressed in one word - wow! I have 25,8 cm - fit perfect 9 US with light free space. Live looks better than in the picture. Ideal for hiking!

Oh how I love these shoes!! I have been looking for a waterproof shoe with a wide toe box, and if I was lucky, a stiff sole that would help stabilize my toes which have an arthritic condition called Hallux Limitus. Hadnt even planned on hiking in these, they were just one of many pairs ordered trying to fit the bill. So far I have only worn these to the gym and for work (I stand on my feet and have to squat and bend a lot) and they are perfect. I can easily wiggle my toes around and have no heel slippage, a hard combo to find these days. I found them true to my size. I am on the verge of buying another pair even with the price, yikes. Worth it though, theyre a keeper!!

I love these shoes so much I'm actually thinking about buying a 2nd backup pair. I'm on my feet all day so I like to have comfy, properly fitting shoes. These are great for around town, at the gym, and light hiking. And the colors are FUN! No boring days in these shoes.

This shoe is so cute. I got it in fruit punch for an upcoming trip to Canyon Ranch where I hope to hike every day. I didn't feel I needed the GTX because of weather, but picked it because my size (9.5) wasn't available in the other (non-waterproof) one and I really wanted these. I wore them all day straight out of the box with no-show socks and they were completely comfortable. No pressure points or irritation. I have a relatively wide foot and these work great with nice support (I have normal arches, not high or flat). They were not too big or too small. I am a bit worried about my feet being hot when I hike in the desert. The day I wore these it was hot and muggy and I wished I were in sandals. But I liked that I could walk fast and my foot and ankle felt stable. I sometimes get shin pain when I walk fast in the city, and I didn't have any of that with these. Overall -- great purchase if what you want is hiking shoes that aren't overly "hiking" looking.

I wear an 11M and the fit is good, maybe even a little roomy in the toe box - in a good way. Like some of the other reviewers, I am also flat footed with bunions, but my heel is a touch on the narrow side. I've worn these a couple of times and had no issues - they were comfortable right out of the box. Haven't gotten them wet yet but I've had other shoes with Gore-Tex that were great so I'm not anticipating any issues there. Overall, very pleased with these shoes!

I love the fit. Haven’t had a chance to wear them on a hike. Bought them for our Ireland trip so expect to do lots of hiking and just walking around Ballyvaughn , and other places we are visiting. Waterproof was essential because it does rain quite a bit. But that doesn’t deter us. Oh, I love the colors!!

I bought these shoes for a trip to Ireland in September when it rains a lot. They arrived today and I love they way they look, but they're a tad short. I've ordered the next size up in hopes that none of my toes will make contact with the end of the shoe - if that works, I'm going to be a happy camper because I can tell they are super comfortable with some good arch support, and as mentioned above, they're pretty cute too. I got the gray and black.
