My husband had a very difficult time getting his foot to enter the shoe. The opening is very tight. We are waiting for a return label to return the shoe. He always has on Merrill shoes but this pair is too difficult to get on even with a long metal shoe horn.

The lacing was not good enough to keep my heals from slipping

I miss the older version of this shoe. This remake redesign is not as ecstatically appealing as the older model and doesn't carry the molded-in ridges on the side banding as the previous model. I loved the look, character and toe shape of my older shoe.

After bartending for about 6 months in these shoes have fall apart on the bottom, plastic is coming off left and right. They were comfy and awesome for a bit but degraded rather quickly.

I have been wearing Merrells for 20 years. This style is a little bit different from the previous. This shoe is very Bulky, I don't like as much as the last style

The Chameleon 7 stretch has a comfortable fit, balanced weight and is a good shoe for hiking. All that said, the black fades fast and they look old after little use. If I had a chance to go back in time I would purchase an alternative color.

The shoe was too narrow to accommodate my orthotic insert.

I bought the Chameleon 7 stretch boulder color. Fantastic looking and very good hiking in terms of grip and being tough, yet lightweight. I wore them on one hike and liked traction but felt my feet moved around way too much. They felt good out of the box but now feel entirely too big after one use. I take a nine in most shoes but these feel too big now. Quite disappointing! I like the look of them. In hindsight I would go down a half size or get a lace up pair instead . Not sure I can wear these now, I really want to like them:(

Bought this shoe due to having chameleons in the past. The insole squawk's when walking. The quality of the shoe keeps getting worse since the Chameleon 4's. This is the last pair of Merrells that I will buy.

These are my third pair of chameleons, I anticipated Merrell would have worked out the kinks by now, but I've experienced a decrease in quality after my first paid which were the 2's. My 2's have taken a beating and are still more comfortable than my newer pairs. Merrell, quit trying to improve something that's awesome. The M select grip sucks; it's all about vibram. Wise up and come back with the 2's.

I love the feel, look, versatility and hiking confort. This is the 2nd pair that I have owned. However, after a period of use, something seems to come apart inside the heel which causes a fairly loud sound that I can best describe as plastic rubbing together. It's not quite a squeaky sound but lower pitched. It's rather annoying and a bit embarrassing.
I suspect the inside cushion device is perhaps comi g loose from the remainder of the shoe.
When this happened on my first pair, I thought it was a fluke and I had worn them a lot at that point. Yet the same thing has happened to this pair, which I've only worn a few hours since purchasing about 3.5 months ago. Of course I'm about 6 weeks outside of the warranty period, naturally. I'm a huge Merrell fan but this is very disappointing.

lace eyelet design makes you unable to tighten shoe and my feet floated around in them. Sole not pliable and felt like herman munster shoes.

I have worn Merrell Chameleon 4 Stretch and Chameleon Prime for many years and loved them. I recently purchased a pair of the Chameleon 7 Stretch to replace an old worn out Chameleon Prime Stretch pair. The Chameleon 7 fit well and felt great, but there is an irritating squeak with each step. I had hoped the noise would go away with time and wear, however, it continues after 3 months of daily wear. I am at the point where I am looking for an alternative. I cannot continue with these shoes any longer. I have been wearing Merrell Chameleon Stretch for over 10 years, but these may be my last pair.

I wanted to love these shoes, they felt so comfortable when I tried them at the store. After a little over one month of use though, the internal stitching has started coming apart in the heel region, one shoe has lost most support in the heel and squeaks loudly with every step, and the vibram sole has started coming off.
All in all, I'm not impressed with quality of the shoe construction and would not recommend them.

The most uncomfortable Merrell I've owned. I owned 8 pairs of the previous model at a point that I didn't used any other shoe and I wasn't able to finish one day with this shoe. Is my number and it can not be smaller and it will slide out during normal walking around the house, imagine during a hike. Can't trust the shoe. I return them. Most people that like this shoe never owned the previous one.

Used to love merrell shoes. Been wearing nothing but for 25 years until now. Their stiching and soles are now junk. Still very comfortable but just don't hold up. Have two pair of these, one pair the stitching is coming undone, and both pairs the soles have delaminated. After only months of owning them. Thought maybe the first pair was a fluke but should have known better since the last two pairs of Merrell's didn't fare any better. Moab mids that the soles completely fell off and a pair of Phaserbounds that the seems blew out on after 4 month of use.

Used to love my Chameleons, all the way back to II's. With a couple of exceptions (notably the 4's), these were the best, but quality keeps degenerating and this latest version is enough to send me to another brand/shoe. Too bad Merrell wouldn't listen to their customers and kept making bad decisions, both in style and quality. Won't be back.
