I decided to try NB after I discovered they offer wide size sneakers. In the past, I have had to purchase slightly larger sneakers because almost every sneaker company only produces standard width shoes. After wearing these 574s for awhile now, I finally know how it feels to wear a shoe that actually fits my feet! (Incredible!) I made my purchase at a physical New Balance storefront, where they measured my feet's width and length, and the pressure areas and arches when I stand. Turns out I needed 1/2 size length larger than what I anticipated (perhaps the shoes run a tad small). The shoes seem to be very well made, and there is a lot of cushion in the heel area. This cushioning is due to the material between the upper and sole meet, and not due to the insert. What's great about this is if you want/need to replace the inserts, you won't lose any of this cushioning along with it. Further, if you require any custom orthotic inserts, you won't be missing out on this extra cushion. I also love how they preserved the classic/retro look of this style. Needless to say, I'll be buying NB indefinitely from here on out.

I purchased these and I was hesitant because they look kind of funny online. I decided on the burgundy pair instead of the safer navy color at the last second. The shoes came in about a week ago and they were ready to wear right out of the box! Easily my most comfortable pair of NB yet and the burgundy color goes with all of my work clothes! Can't wait to purchase from this site next time I need a new pair of shoes

Pleased to say NB has resolved the previous issues with fit and has started offering these in 4E. Like walking on burgundy clouds.

Order half size up. For whatever reason New Balance can't seem to get the sizing correct. The shoe is comfortable to wear but I'm not to keen on the logo below the shoelaces. But I can live with it.

I got a pair of Red & White 574 to match my Detroit Red Wings gear ! They were on on sale, so I think it was a great deal too.

Everyday walking/jogging 2-3 miles with my dog. Comfy for the arch & heel. Yet I prefer the 997 Classic which are no longer available

I use these in green as business casual with a matching leather belt. So they are stylish enough for office attire. They seem to run a bit small in length, i normally wear a 10, but should have bought 10.5. Very comfortable and breath well.
