My daughter is now 12 and has worn an AFO since she was almost 2. For years we have jammed that brace into Mary Jane's and sneakers but they were always somewhat ill-fitting or we had to buy two pairs because the foot with the AFO on it always needs a bigger size to get it into the shoe. Boots and high tops were out of the question because the AFO can't round the corner from the tall part of the shoe into the foot part. After spending months searching for boots that would fit, her orthotist suggested Billy Footwear and our lives changed! Now she has cute options other than low sneakers. These high tops are adorable. My only suggestion would be for the company to allow ordering two different sizes for right and left. The non-AFO foot has some extra room in it so we'll be ordering a second pair. But at these prices I don't mind too much.

I purchased these shoe for my toddler son who had been fitted with an AFO. These shoes make it possible to have an almost true size as there is no worries for the instep. However not long after he started wearing the the seam/ zipper came undone. I wrote a quick email just to see if there was somewhere here in Canada we could have them repaired. The agent I was dealing with was quick to return messages and very quick with a solution. Billy sent us a new pair of shoes with the gel on them so they would hold up to a toddler in a brace. I am beyond pleased with the shoes, the company and most importantly the agent that helped us out. Wouldn't hesitate to purchase another pair in the future. Thank you Billy for helping this mom make life a little easier for her boys.

My son has Left side weakness because of hemiplegic cerebral palsy. These shoes have helped him to become more independent because it is way easier to put them on then other shoes. He also loves the style, color and comfort that the shoes provide. These are great!

These shoes are absolutely amazing for my son who has Cerebral Palsy as they are so easy to slip on over AFO's and the zippers also allow him to be more independent with taking his shoes on/off as he is unable to do up laces. They also look fantastic!

Brought these for my 5yr old. Putting shoes on him is difficult. Being that he's special needs and non mobile. These sneakers are super easy to put on &; comfortable on his feet. He loves them and so do I.

These lace high shoes are outstanding. My granddaughter wears a brace on her left foot, and being able to zip these shoes on with great ease has helped tremendously. This is the third pair we have bought, and we will continue to buy them as she grows. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend these shoes to anyone who has a little one with AFO/other braces! They are so convenient and easy for them to zip or help at least! Also very stylish. :blush:

These shoes are a God Sent to us or anyone that wears AFOs. We were excited when they made the smaller shoes and will always purchase them. Only thing with some of the threads right below the tongue are coming loose but still love these shoes.

Bought these for my 9 y/o son with autism. Super pickey with sensory issues. He absolutely loves these shoes! Super comfortable and super easy to get on and off. Superb design! Very stylish-get lots of people asking where I bought these! Will buy again! Would highly recommend Billy shoes!

My son has foot braces and these shoes have made our lives so much easier every morning when getting him dressed! His physical therapist and school PT have all seen these and recommended them to other families. They fit perfectly, hold his feet securely and we will definitely be buying more.

I finally don't have to spend 30 mins trying to get shoes over my sons smos it's made life so much easier and one less thing to stress up. They are very sturdy and durable

These are the best shoes we have got for orthotics. We loved them so much that we bought a second pair. The customer service was wonderful too!

Easy to zip off and on. Had to return the first pair and buy larger size. Followed the measuring instructions, still too small. Am using on non weight bearing person, so maybe that's why the measurement guide was 2 sizes too small? Fast return! Really like these shoes

Received the shoes super fast and when I had to return them because I ordered the wrong size it was super easy to do and received my refund in a few days.

I ordered a mismatch pair for my son because one of his feet is smaller than the other. They both fit perfectly thanks to the measurements. My son wears AFO braces on both legs and the shoes really helps with that. I would recommend these shoes to any child that wears braces.

We love our Billy shoes, and my son thinks they are so cool! They go over his braces with ease and are stylish at the same time!

We purchased these shoes, for our grandson, who wears the hi-tops, &; has braces, for his ankles. They fit him so well, provide ease with putting on his shoes, fit nicely even with the braces, and look so stylish! Compliments have been given each time he wears them, and questions on where we got them! Also needed to exchange, for a different size, on one pair, and Billy &; his company were very helpful, expedient, and gracious during the process. Would recommend these shoes &; this company for sure!

I bought these shoes for my 11 year old son with Down Syndrome. He can now put on and take off his own shoes. Good support for his ankles also. Highly recommend

Our son, Tom, is 19 years old and has dystonic athetoid cerebral palsy. Tom does not bear any weight on his feet as he is in a wheelchair. Over the years we have tried many types of shoes, including orthotic ones but because of his on/off high tone it has always been a struggle for him to wear shoes and sometimes even put them on with "scrunched" up toes. When we does wear shoes there have been many times that he blisters the ends and tops of his toes. Tom has been wearing Billy Lace High boots for 10 weeks and loves them and so do we. He has hung up his sandals and insists on wearing them every day. The zip system allows him to place his foot into the shoe, even with curled up toes and because of the soft material the shoes zip up and he doesn't experience the rubbing and chafing. They look great as well.We live in the UK and ordered from the States and they took two weeks to arrive. Even with postage/courier the price is way less than special orthotic shoes that have never been that suitable. Thanks
