This shoe is super fast with an amazing spring effect. Stability is really good too. Unfortunately as a lot of the other review say, it is not really a plushy sole. I actually feel it really stiff. I ran in this one and Clifton 4. The Clifton have a lot of plushy, these ones they just don't have it. The good think is, compared to he Clifton, you feel like there is no waste of power, all is really stiff and responsive. Speed is what they give you.

For me, being a heel striker, this new Elevon is the best Hoka I've had since the Bondi 4. The Bondi 4 had a great heel stack and the best early rocker I've ever experienced! Wow! But then the Bondi 5 did not continue that great heel technology. It felt like a completely different shoe than the Bondi 4. But... good news... the Elevon recaputures most of what the Bondi 4 offered, except that it could use a little better early rocker and more cushioning in the sole--feels a little like bare foot running. But it gives great support! I will VERY LIKELY buy more pairs of the Elevon! Also, please offer more colors and styles in the men's shoes. The women's shoes have so much more variety in colors! I like hot pink, too!

Loved the Vanquish and this one is even better. Seems though like the shoe is a tad long. Not sure going to a smaller size will work as the Vanquish was also a bit long - but - with that said this shoe has great cushioning - is super light and feels like its been broken in right out of the box.

I read the reviews for the Clifton 4s and decided that the Elevon shoe would be a better fit for my running needs and wants. I ran the first 5 miles on a PFitness treadmill and loved the feel and stability of this new shoe. Nothing to complain about; nothing to see here. But the next day, my thrice-repaired ACL right knee was aching and swollen. Of course being a runner regardless of age or knee issues, I mentally sucked it up and attributed it to a break-in period. I took off a day and was back on the treadmill, putting in another 5-miler, this time at a faster pace (8.10ish), which is my personal favorite pace. No pain. See? I was right about the break-in period. Next morning, the right knee let me know it was not happy three steps into my first thing in the morning walk to the closet. Two days of rest later, the knee and I are still having words. This never happened with the Cliftons of which I own four pair that have each given me at least 800 miles before becoming my daily walkers. So, it is with a heavy heart that I am exchanging these fine shoes with these comments/observations: I am now 64 years old, a survivor of three right knee ACL repairs and two rotator cuff surgeries, the second one just to let me know that the cuff was torn too much to repair, which is in part why I turned back to running after a 15-year career in the weight room that took me on an adventure from a 150lb English teacher to a 200lb far more buff English teacher. The Clifton's have been the reason I have enjoyed my indoor and outdoor 28-34 mile weekly totals since the shoulder turned on me, a huge improvement over the various Nikes and NB shoes that did nothing for me as I dropped that 50 pounds of weight training bulk (200 back to the current 150). My clothes from my pre-weight training days now fit again. I have recommended your shoes to anyone who will listen. Your Elevon is obviously a good running shoe that just does not work for me, just me. Clifton replacements, please.

So as the title states this shoe is quite different from the vanquish. More forgiving toebox, nicer upper better overall fit. The heel is more responsive and not quite as forgiving as the Vanquish. on the down side the shoe runs HOT even though it is mesh it is a hot shoe. All in all I find it to be an upgrade over The Vanquish in almost every way.

The piece that the laces run through is in a different location and lays right on top of a bone spur I have in my big toe. I bought these because I thought they would be like my other pair but they weren't.

I wish they were more comfortable. I wore out the heels on the last two pots of Bondi so I tried these. They are narrow and don't quite fit right. They work For short distances but start to bug my feet rather quickly.

Bought for fitness/gym use. Wish instead I'd purchased second pair of Cliftons instead. Upper and sole does not seem as durable and overall lateral support not as steady for my gait.

I was a Hoka One Vanquish 3 user. Hoka One informed me the Elevon "replaced" the Vanquish 3. The Vanquish 3 was a neutral shoe with a lot of cushion (plush). The Elevon did not feel plush as compared to the Vanquish 3. If you want a harder feel with less cushion go with the Elevon. It seems odd to me that Hoka One made their name with the plush feel but there is no longer a neutral arch support shoe that is plush. I returned the product.

Not quite sold. Description had them as plush and very soft insoles. Not the case at all. I do like the slight bounce you feel from bottoms. Still for as much as I paid for them, I was expecting much more from them.

My Bondi 6 shoes are very comfortable and the plush cushioning is truly a foot-saver for me. The Elevon is described as "plush" just like my Bondi 6's, but it really is not close. The Bondi 6 feels much more cushioned than the Elevon.

Bought it for long runs, thought it was more like Bondi, but it's not. Fits tighter and sole is firmer than Bondi. Upper fits similarly right in the toe box like my Clifton 5's. I think design would work better with the upper of the Rincon.

I bought them for my next marathon. I think they too heavy for long distances. There are some sewings at the top of the shoes that are very uncomfortable and they produce blisters in my feet.

I really really wanted to love this shoe. First, the upper is perfect. Easily the best upper I've ever had on my feet. If only the shoe was plush, as advertised. For me and my feet, this was a stiffer sole, throughout my gait cycle, than any other Hoka I've owned. If they could transport this upper to a slightly more responsive Bondi, then my foot Utopia would be complete

So this shoe is suppose to be the replacement for the Vanquish. The Vanqish was a very plush and comfortable shoe to run in, and after my long runs, my feet would be tired but not sore. With the Elevon, I found the fit to be great, but the shoe is nowhere as plush as the the Vanquish. My feet begin hurting around mile 12-13 and are killing me by mile 17-19. I have my marathon in a month and most likely going back to the store to find a new shoe, which is really disappointing considering I have been a Hoka loyalist for four years now.

Three stars for not causing blisters like the clifton 5, mach, and arahi 2. But these are most definitely NOT plush. They're like running with bricks on your feet. Light-weight bricks, but bricks non-the-less.

I find this shoe comfortable for fast walking and going to the gym. I'm not a runner so can't speak to that. I would move the cushion bar, however, to balanced. This shoe does not feel 'plush'. The Bondi is plush.

I do miss the old Stinson ATRs as they were PLUSH. First Hoka I had and I loved from the first step. I would agree with other comments that the definition of plush has changed. The Elevon is a fine shoe once it starts to break in. I went up half a size and have plenty of toe room. The uppers are nice and airy and generally comfortable as I don't notice them when I run. The soles are stiffer than I'd like and my knee was a little sore after the first run. Unusual for Hoka. Nearly returned them but tried again and felt better. I've probably got 25 miles on them now and they are OK. Not plush but comfortable. I'm 180 lbs so would go with the Bondi or Stinson ATR if I was heavier.

I have a well-used pair of arahi 2s that I love. I wear them all day at work. These are supposed to be more plush feeling even than them, however they feel stiffer even after being broken in over a few dozen miles. They also run a little narrow on me and make my feet feel pinched. Which is weird because I have narrower feet.
