I was so excited to order these shoes. I had researched and felt the money was worth it. However, what a disappointment. I normally wear a W but ordered this in a WW just to make sure. After reading numerous positive review I expected this to be the most comfortable walking shoe. (1) Even in a WW my big toe rubbed against the side of the toe. It was like they narrowed the toe part of the shoe too soon. (2) It was like walking on cement. No cushioned feel at all. "Maybe" after it was worn a while it would soften up, but for $155 with tax and the toe rubbing I wasn't willing to bet on that. I wore them for 2 days in the house and they never got comfortable. Very disappointed.

Ordered these for my grandmother, who uses a wheelchair and needs comfy, sturdy shoes for transferring in/out of the chair. These WW928v3 (shoebox says WW928HW3) New Balance shoes had adequate width (double wide) and were the easiest of the various brands and styles we tried for putting on and taking off the shoes. She also likes the style. :) I noticed some of the other shoes we tried had some stiff, rough edges at the base of the tongue inside the shoe. These are all nice and smooth inside.

As a dancer, I change shoes numerous times a day and hate tying laces. The velcro closures allow me to make quick shoe changes without the frustration. I love these shoes so have purchased them at least twice before. They are comfortable and the size is consistent so I just reorder the same shoe as needed.

I am 78 years old and find the firm, wider platform more secure feeling that the new running shoes I just bought for their cushion in the heel. The were so cushiony that it felt very unstable. This is my second pair and the old ones will be my dog walking shoe. Still good but the new ones,of course, look better.

My mom needs the stability and cushioning of this shoe, just wishes it wasn't so bulky and ugly looking. The leather shoes from New Balance always look like geriatric shoes which is the only reason that I won't buy their leather shoes. Can't we have more style and colors and less huge looking shoes in the leather walking shoes??

Amazing! The most comfortable walking shoes I've owned. I wear a narrow, very hard to find, and these fit perfectly. Great support - not only the arch support but the all around support. I feel very secure in them. I've worn another expensive brand for years and when they stopped making my favorite style, I started looking around for a replacement. I tried different styles of New Balance and actually own another style that I like but I really wanted the hook and loop closing and more support. Love these and highly recommend.

These shoes felt great and they were true to size. They were easy to put on and take off
I liked them, but my daughter asked me to return them. She said they looked like an old lady on me and made me promise never to wear them!

So uncomfortable. The leather is hard as a rock, more like hard plastic than quality leather. The heel is huge and my foot slips. Tightening the velcro straps does not help. I needed a supportive shoe. It's got a good, motion control sole and construction. But that does me no good if the shoe only causes more pain because of the horrible fit and the stiff, cheap leather. For $160 I expect quality leather and comfort. This shoe has neither. New Balance quality has really gone down, along with their reputation for good, supportive shoes and concern for foot health.

I have used the lace up version of this shoe for years, and it was always perfect; just the right amount of support and cushioning. However, since about a year ago, a change was made to the shoe, and now the soles are hard as rocks. It's like walking on a slab of granite. With every step, the impact can be felt clear up my spine. I spoke to my orthotist and podiatrist about the problem; both say they no longer recommend NB Walking Shoes, for that very reason, especially for people with spine issues. In addition, the independent shoe store I sometimes patronize has stopped carrying NB walking shoes altogether; the owner says he got tired of people bringing them back. Please, please; go back to making them like you used to!

The only sneakers I buy..per podiatrist, have to wear shoes all the time, so they're my daily shoe and nightly slipper. Only drawback, come in white only for woman

Oh my gosh!! My favorite shoes. So comfortable and now shoelaces!!! This is my dream come true. Shute they are mom shoes well my mom won't even wear them to be honest but that's because she has not tried them. Because if she had game over!

I have been wearing New Balance walking shoes for 17 plus years. I was told by my orthopedic surgeon to wear New Balance because their toe box was more than most shoe products of same type. He also advised that the shoe was built to support the flex of the foot. You couldn't get me out of these shoes if you tried.C.B.

This is my 3rd pair of New Balance 928 shoes over a period of several years. They are always a perfect fit, and totally comfortable from the first day I put them on my feet. I would buy any other Walking shoe. I just wish I could get black in my size: 8 . 2A narrow.
Thank you so much for these shoes!

This is the 4th pair of 928's that I have purchased. The first with the Hook and Loop feature. I had doubts about whether or not the hook and loop would hold the shoe tight. It does. This shoe accommodates orthotics. It has a generous toe box. For me, New Balance shoes run about a half size smaller that other brands. As long as you know that and can make the adjustment all is well. If not, you are in for the return process.

I love the look of the shoes and the Velcro strap make them easy to get in and out of and I can comfortably adjust the width fit. That said, after walking in them for a mile or so my toes became uncomfortable. There is room in the toe, they are not too small but when I walk with these, the stride causes the toe to push against the top of the shoe.

Size and fit were fine. However, I felt like an elderly person with foot problems (which I am). I just don’t want to wear shoes that announce it to the world. Not the most attractive look one can get in a tennis shoe. I returned them since the comfort did not outweigh the ugly.

These shoes were recommended by my physical therapist because I need Velcro, I can't tie shoes. Unfortunately they only come in white. There are fabric side panels. I live indoors in a rehab facility. I only wear them for PT sessions indoors, and the fabric is FILTHY after a few months. Nothing I try to clean it with works. I tried cleaning w/ a toothbrush but it is ruining the fabric. Otherwise ok but they just look BAD.

Right shoe has a missing grommet at the opening for the hook-and-loop strap. The shoe should not have left the factory in that condition. I had ordered shoes in this size and style previously, received this particular pair, and reported them defective when I sent them back. I re-ordered, and the exact same defective pair arrived, complete with my little note about the problem. Please notify inspector or quality control.
I tried them on again to see if it would be worthwhile to order this size and style (again!), but decided the collar/ankle area was too stiff, and the tongue was a bit rough at the attachment point.

Very uncomfortable. Leather quality is cheap, more like hard plastic. Heel is wide and foot slips. Padding around ankle is hard and presses on tendon.

I read all the reviews, thought this might work out and it did! I have very narrow, flat feet and have always had to purchase tennis shoes that tie. Usually the ties are so long, I replace with shorter ones, but have never bought narrow tennis shoes before. Having shoulder surgery in a month and will not be able to use my right arm for 6 to 8 weeks. Had to find a pair of tennis shoes that I could put on with one hand and obviously ties would not work. These are really comfortable shoes, right out of the box! I purchased an 8 Narrow, and my toes do not touch the end. I usually wear a 7.5 so going longer was appropriate as was suggested by other reviewers. I had read that the Velcro wasn't quite long enough. That is true. There should have been more on the shoe itself since the strap is left hanging. I will cut off some of the extra strap and hem the ends. I also appreciate the roominess in the toe box too. Would still recommend,

Been buying this same model shoe for at at least 15 years for wearing every day, all day. This is the first time buying the strap version. Fit perfectly, as usual.
