This brand is not like it used to be. Hard to find the appropriate size. This is the third pair ordered and totally unsatisfied. The first pair in 8 1/2 was too big. So I ordered another one half size smaller. Right size but different leather than the first pair. So I ordered another model very similar but more expensive in size 8. Now too small. Looks like there is no consistency in the models. Very disappointed. Not more Born brand.

I had an old pair of Tobys that I wore to the ground and wanted a replacement. Unfortunately, I will be returning this pair because it felt tight around the arch of the foot. I think this is because these have a lot more padding than my last pair (bought in 2013), and so my foot is getting pressed against the upper. I waffled if I wanted to keep them or not, but ultimately felt they may not stretch enough to be comfortable. Disappointed to return - did notice that there's also the Born Toby II - maybe that is the one I had before and so will try those!

These are nice looking basic loafers. I’m trying to transition away from Dansko’s due to knee issues and wanted to love these Borns. However, they just didn’t offer the support I need right now. I have flat, low volume feet, size 42/11. I overpronate and am a teacher. I need footwear that helps the strain and maintains my posture. These loafers allowed my feet to slide too much inside the shoe. They were very cushiony, but not supportive. The leather was very soft. It’s a great shoe for someone, but not me.

The heel kept slipping off my foot. I have a narrow foot and these were too wide.

Love BORN! Was really looking forward to these for work, but they are too narrow. Unfortunately, returned.

Wish these worked as I have had Born before. The tops of the clog scrapes the tops of my toes. Ouch! I miss the Born oxford. Haven't seen the oxford style in forever. Anyhow, returning the Toby Duo..

This would have been my third purchase of this shoe by Born, so I obviously have really liked them. I ordered the exact same size (9M) and the shoe was at least 1/2 size too large. I also felt that the workmanship was not nearly as good as in prior years. Very disappointing!

The shoes felt great when I wore them around the house before wearing them outside & to work. However, my first full day at work was a completely different story. By the end of the day, the skin over my Achilles’ tendon was completely raw on my left foot (I wear socks with all my shoes) and I was limping in pain. A week later, I’m still having issues with the skin not healing correctly. I’m afraid I’m not going to be able to wear these shoes at all. Wish they would have worked out, they were super cute!

I really love the quality, leather and arch. However I exchanged size 7 (normal size) and got 6.5. The back of the shoe is too wide and my foot slips out. Not comfortable.

Ouch! I didn’t even need to take one step to realize: these shoes hurt! And when I did walk in them they rubbed my heel immediately. They are very stiff, felt like they were made of wood.

I had the older version of this shoe that was very comfortable. This version unfortunately cut into my heel and caused blisters. I had to return them.

I wore Toby II for YEARS and am terribly disappointed in the new design. I have worn a size 10 in Borns for my entire adult life, but this was so big I was sliding out of the shoe. I ordered a half size down and it was too tight, so it has to be the design. I bought a pair of Earth Origins to get me through the summer, but now that Winter is Coming, I am struggling to find a replacement.

I have worn the Born Toby as my "commuting shoe" for over a decade and these are the first pair that have failed me. I ordered the 10 because that's what size I have worn since I was 13, but they have done something different with this model. The shoe is too big to start with, but even with heavier socks the back moves way too much and the fit is just different than previous Toby models. I think you need to order at LEAST a half size down, if not full, and still be prepared to return them. It's really unfortunate b/c this one of my favorite shoes to repeat order.

9w they feel like a seven

I love these shoes but they were unwearable after a month. The insoles started squeak after a month of wear with every step. You can not remove these insoles. It's so loud I cant wear them to work or anywhere. If u have seen the spongebob squeaky boots episode that's what they are like. I tried baby powder and it did nothing. They are so comfy and stylish. I'm sad and mad and so disappointed. I paid a lot of money for these shoes that were wearable for just over a month!
