I've been wearing Mizuno's for years and am SO disappointed with Wave Inspire 14. The top of the shoe does not offer much support and I'm in pain when doing long runs. I never thought I'd have to switch brands but now may have to.

My feet are on the narrow side, but I still order the regular B width in running shoes. These shoes are EXTREMELY NARROW, as in there is 2.75" between the eyelets at the mid-foot, whereas on my Inspire 13 there was only 2.25". These are so narrow it looks like my feet are all swollen and are trying to bust out of them! When I loosen the laces even more, there is barely enough to tie a bow! I also cannot find any indication, on either the shoe or the box, as to what width these are. My guess is Mizuno cheaped out like other shoe companies and really only makes one width, then just sells them as all three to save on production costs. It's very disappointing. I was thinking of trying a wide, but as another reviewer mentioned, even the wide are narrow and there is not enough fabric up the sides of the foot to provide adequate support. These are going back.

I wore my Wave Inspire 13's a little too long until there was no support left and it was time for a new pair. Unable to find another pair of 13's in my size I ordered the Wave Inspire 14's in the same size as my prior shoes. I ordered a size 8.5 W and while my 13's were a little large on my feet and gave me plenty of room for running distances, the 14's felt extremely small and narrow in the exact same size...my toes literally were hitting the end of the shoe. I tried wearing them on several occasions and they seemed like they might work, but once I actually ran in the shoes my right foot was becoming numb from being compressed after just 4 miles and I was starting to get blisters. If I ordered a larger size, my heels would have lifted out of the shoe. I had to order a pair of Brooks instead which fit like a dream and had significantly better arch support. It's a shame, but I guess I'm done with Mizuno at this point since their sizing has changed and their arch support isn't as good as it has been in the past.

The toes are significantly closer to the ground than the heel on these shoes. It feels like running in the world's nicest high heels. After running a few times in them, I experienced a significant knee injury that forced me to stop running. I'm still going to physical therapy 3 months later. Maybe the shoes weren't the problem, but buy at your own risk!
