I really like the feel of the fabric and the bag held up fine. The lining was beautiful. Thr color matches a number of items in my collection. However, I missed quilting. For me the quilting says Vera. To just look at it, it could be a bag from any manufacturer.

This was my first campus backpack - the straps are not at all comfortable. They are very stiff and inflexible. The rest of the backpack is well organized, but the strap issue will keep me from reaching for this bag often. The laptop compartment is problematic to open and close - there is a roll of padding that catches in the zipper when opening and closing. It requires two hands to open and close. As for the cotton reimagined fabric, it's not as soft as the original signature cotton. The backpack also lost its structure within an hour of use. I'm not sure if that's typical for this style or a characteristic of the

I was really excited to try the recycled cotton Campus Backpack in yellow but after a few strap adjustments, I still felt like it did not sit right on my shoulders or back. (I will try again...) What I do love is the many compartments in this backpack, including a side pocket for your water bottle or beverage, and a (2) large mesh pockets on the inside for your pens pencils or even cosmetics. There are two very large zippered areas on the front which are specifically for your writing utensils, notebooks, cell phone and other items. Plenty of room for your books or for a weekend away since this slips over a luggage handle. I am impressed with the care taken to design this bag but I would have preferred another color or print.

BACKPACKI also have a Commuter backpack, which I'll be comparing the Campus backpack to. The Commuter has more organizational pockets in each compartment, and I like the zipper compartments on the left and right. The Campus backpack has open water bottle holders on either side that my water bottle kept falling out of. While the Commuter seems taller on my back, the Campus has the ability to expand outward, so you could fit quite a few textbooks in there! The Campus was definitely designed for college students in mind, and I think it's perfect for that application. I use a backpack to bring my laptop back and forth to work, and didn't need the extra expandability of the Campus. I much prefer the additional pockets and pouches of my Commuter. FABRICFirst, I ADORE the bright hues of the Recycled Cotton colors. My backpack is in the yellow shade (Citronella Glow? ), and it made me smile as soon as I opened the package. The interior is a complimentary floral pattern that I also adore. Comparing Recycled Cotton to Classic Cotton, the Recycled is actually softer. However, I noticed it sticks to threads, hair, fur, dust, and dirt way more easily, which I am not a fan of. The Recycled fabric does feel durable, but because it's brushed, I'm wondering how it will wear compared to Classic Cotton. I would love to see another iteration of Recycled Cotton that doesn't stick to particles in the air, and has the durability of Classic Cotton.

Would like just slightly bigger and prefer zippers to start at both sides end with closure on the top of the compartment

I love the looks of this backpack and its features are just as advertised. I was, however, a bit disappointed that the fabric is rather rough and scratchy, and not the soft, pleasing fabric on purses and bags I've purchased in the past. I'm a very tactile person, so this was a big disappointment for me. Also, if I had my druthers, I'd prefer the laptop compartment to be a bit more roomy to accommodate my cord and charger without being such a tight fit. Aside from those two issues, I'm very happy with the purchase.

I have owned 2 of these now, the most recent just today. They are awesome backpacks except for the laptop zippers. On both of my bags the laptop zipper has either become separated or today the zipper piece just came all the way off. So, another backpack wasted. They last maybe a little over a year, tops.

Very well constructed with well thought out pockets and compartments. All the pockets and internal compartments are great. My child loves this and thinks it is perfect. However, I have some concerns. I am really hoping this backpack will not get dirt stained, abraded/snagged, let the contents get wet, or dig into the shoulders to much when loaded. I'm concerned at the durability and water resistance of the fabric. The fabric is soft like a tee shirt, unlike a typical backpack's synthetic material. This backpack looks like it will absorb water and that dirt will adhere much more than a typical backpack. The bottom is the same soft fabric as the rest of the backpack. In this price range, there really should be a weatherized bottom. Something like the laminated cotton lining from the pencil pouches would be prefect. The straps seem to be under padded, especially considering the premium price range.

I use this product for college, and it is good and has never done me wrong. but I havent even had it for even a year, and the bottom of it on the back has started to wear thin the fabric and rip and I promise when I say I don't use it for a lot of stuff but I am really sad that it started to do that because I actually love these bags. I still would recommend it to a friend, but not for very heavy lifting and dont fill it all the way full.

I use it to carry my IPad, laptop, purse and accessories to work. The product does not have double zippers on all pockets. This makes it not handy and I've lost a pen because I let zipper partially open.

I bought this bag a few months ago from my local Paper Store and was so happy with it originally. A friend of mine had one and I needed a new bag so I finally splurged thinking if I took care of the bag it would last me the next three years of high school. Unfortunately after now 8 months it's still in semi good condition but the fabric sewn around the main pocket zipper has begun to fray continuously. It started only at the top middle but now it's getting caught in the zipper by the side pockets and everything. I'm so worried that as this continues the bag will fall apart completely. Especially since the butterfly flutter is a retired pattern. Really didn't expect fraying around the zipper. Honestly I expected more that the straps would fall off from the weight of my books but this is really disappointing. Especially for so much money and such a well known brand.

I love the pattern, but the stitching is so poorly that I could see the white spots under the stitching I'm not sure what it is maybe the cushion from the backpack but the straps barely have any cushion and I've had plenty of vera backpacks before and this one wasn't worth the price.

I bought the iconic Vera Bradley Campus Backpack in December of 2018. I loved this backpack and used it everyday for the remaining of my Senior year in high school. Then in August 2019 I started Community College. I quickely found the campus backpack to be the best backpack for carring to college everyday. It held the folders, notebooks and laptop I used on a daily basic just perfectly. Unforntaly a month into Community College the left side strap started to detach from the bottom of the bag. I was very disappointed and a bit upset. This was my favorite backpack to carry everday. As a side note I have been using Vera Bradley bags for several years now and noticed that in the last couple of years the quality in Vera Bradley bags has massively gone down. I really would not recommend you buy a Vera Bradley bag weather it be for yourself for a gift unless you just want your bag to fall apart within only a couple of months of daily use. I am very disappointed. I will no longer be purchsing VB bags any more.

I purchased a slightly different styled version of this backpack in Indigo Pop (Fall 2012 color) and loved it. I finally wore it out and went looking for a replacement. The new version has a slightly smaller area for a laptop and my current laptop doesn't fit. :-( I am so disappointed and now need to go searching elsewhere for a replacement. Overall, though, the quality of my previous backpack was great and I'd recommend these for others even though the current style won't fit my needs.
