These sneakers are garbage or I got a bad pair. This is a follow up review. I purchased 12/22/17, and they are already falling apart. See photo, sole is coming apart. I have NEVER had a sneaker fall apart so quickly (approx 2.5 months) and for $80 I expect better quality. I wear these 2- 3 x’s a week indoors only doing an hour long workout (treadmill, rower, weights). In addition to the sole peeling apart, I had to add an insole for arch support, and the heel area is too big, my foot slips out doing planks, mountain climber, etc...unless I wear very thick socks and tie them so tight I end up with a mark across my foot. It was my first try with Ryka and I can say never again. On the plus side they are very light weight and cushy.

I used these for Crossfit, weightlifting and running. They're a very good shoe except for one thing: the little, triangular rubber pieces on the bottom of the shoe peel off after a while. The sole of the shoe isn't made of one piece of material. It's many pieces of material. The edges catch and then they start to peel off. This has happened with both pairs of Ryka sneakers I've owned. I've tried crazy gluing them back onto the shoe but they start to peel off again. The shoes are very comfortable but that one thing is a major design flaw.

After looking for new Xtraining shoes for over a year, I finally hit the jackpot with the Devotion XT! I workout 5-6 days a week (running, Crossfit, 21 Day Fix) and these shoes have served me well for almost a year. I love them so much I just bought a second pair. I can't recommend them enough!

This was my first pair of Ryka shoes. I tried these for Zumba because my other shoes were too rubbery and I was getting stuck with those quick pivoting steps I'm trying to get the hang of. I wear a 9 but usually order 9.5 in running shoes to account for socks and swelling. I have plenty of room after the toe but not so much that they are too big. Pleasant surprise that the toe box is wide enough because that's usually my gripe with fitness shoes. But these were perfect -nothing rubs so far. They are a bit harder than running shoes of course, but still comfortable and adequate arch support for my high arches. Plus, the black with turquoise and white accents are cute - my feel look small in them. Lucky find on first try!

I've had trouble with aches and pains in my feet and hips in recent years.
These shoes seem to help both problems.
The pivot point in the ball of the shoe seems to make it somewhat less likely that I'll tweak the bursitis in my hip (which doesn't like it when I make certain sudden stop, pivoting, twisting motions). Not a perfect solution, since other things do influence the situation, but the shoes definitely seem to help.
The shoes also cushion my feet so that even though I'm prone to plantar fasciitis, these shoes don't make trouble. (Maintaining strength and flexibility from the tips of my toes to the top of my head seems to help the PF the most, FYI.)
Yes, they're not very elegant, and they do tend to make more noise when I'm walking than some other shoes do (they squeak because they grip the floor), but I can live with that.
The laces in this shoe make for a solid fit to the foot. The Ryka Devotion with Cinch relies on elastic and velcro, which makes for a more relaxed fit to the foot, and has a bit more give. The two styles are apparently identical except for the way they fasten. The ones with the elastic/velcro are fine, most of the time, back and forth to the grocery, etc., but when I truly need to have a solid shoe, the Devotion XT with laces is a better choice.

I have been wearing walking/running shoes to Zumba and decided to give a dance fitness shoe a try. Some of the instructors have been saying that the walking/running shoes are actually dangerous to wear for Zumba because they are not made for pivoting or side to side motion. Makes sense. I have recently returned to exercise after a several year break. Back then, this type of fitness shoe didn't seem to be around or available. I wanted to like these shoes so much! But I don't. First off, it feels like the left shoe is higher up/more cushioned than the right shoe. I have high arches and there doesn't seem to be any arch support whatsoever, it feels very flat inside. And lastly, I feel completely unstable in these, as if I would roll my ankle. I will be returning these shoes.

I'd been hunting for years to find a sneaker to carry me through my days. I've got a history of PF and have learned the hard way not to abuse my feet.
The Devotion XT does what I need it to.
It's my go to for working out and walking for fitness, and for days when I know I'm going to need extra cushioning and support.
I only have these in black because I just can't see the value in having such a good shoe in colors too garish for ordinary wear. Black is versatile.

For athletic shoes I always have had to buy a half size larger, so for me (usually an 8) the 8.5 is true to size. These shoes are very well cushioned. I do a fair amount of combination type classes - cardio, weights, hiit etc. These work very well to provide support during lunges, stepping on/off benches etc. They seem to stay on my foot well. Plenty of room for toes to stretch too. Great shoe.

These shoes are very comfortable because they are made of very soft non-durable materials. The midsole (the light colored material between the black outer sole and the white inner sole) feels as soft as a toddler foot ball. I had so much hope the rotation point would make these my ideal zumba shoes, but that is made of that same cheap soft material. Why do shoe designers sacrifice durability and quality just to make a soft shoe without no break-in time?
I will continue hunting for zumba shoes. These are going back.

Unfortunately I couldn’t love these. I really wanted to. There were so many good recommendations across many websites and instructors. I needed shoes for lots of lateral/dance motions that would support my high arch/high instep. I wore them around the house and it felt like my arch/mid-foot was collapsing. It felt like I was standing on two, parallel poles with nothing under my arch. It was like I was wearing non-flexible skateboard sneakers. I’m so bummed. Off to a brick & mortar store to try on lots of different possibilities.

From the start I could feel where the shoe's pieces came together on the inside. This sensation disappeared with a few days of wear. The big problem with the shoe is that they left the area where my big toe meets my foot on top feeling deeply bruised. These have been worn at least 5 hours at this point and are broken in but still deeply bruise my foot every time I wear them. This purchase was a bust.

Reviewed at Ryka
I have flat feet and overpronate so I was looking to replace my old sneakers for my HIIT workouts. This is my first experience with Rykas so I decided to give them a try after reading the glowing reviews. They're cute and have decent support, but after a month of using them, I've determined I don't like them for HIIT. First, the laces are so thin I had to replace them. Second, my toes slam to the front and get pinched when I do moves like burpees. Third, there's no ankle support/grip so I feel like the shoes are going to slip off even when I have the laces tied really tight. You might be thinking, "Maybe she got the wrong size?" It's possible but I measured my foot and looked at their size chart which said size 8, which is what I usually get with cross-trainers. Trust me, I really tried to make these shoes work for me by adjusting how I land, changing the laces, tying them tighter, and wearing thicker socks. But I realized if I have to do all these things to make myself like these shoes, then they're not the shoes for me.

Size and width were good. How disappointing that there is absolutely no arch support. I would have figured there would be some? Very disappointed and returned these for Vida RZX which has fantastic arch support

Great for zumba!
I have been searching for a while and took a chance on these.
I'm glad I did. A little heavier than my previous ones but I'm used to it now.

I have worn Ryka shoes for years for my Zumba and other exercise classes. I was really thrilled to discover Ryka is finally including a WIDE width! Three cheers! These shoes fit fine, but something just wasn't right about the footbed--my foot felt a little sore after wearing them. Now I realize they do not have the anatomical footbed insert. That has been in all my old Rykas. Alas, I kept these and used them, but now for future reference, will only get the shoes with that special insole. Don't like the memory foam ones, either.
Now, if Ryka could make a walking shoe that comes in wide and has the special insole--and doe not have the cooling mesh fabric, wow, that would make my day. For cold weather walking in New England, those mesh shoes are just too cool!
Also, selling replacement insoles would be great, too!

After reading the other reviews, I decided to purchase these shoes. I was looking for a shoe to wear to the gym for Cardio Dance/Zumba classes. So far, I’m pleased with the fit & performance of this shoe! I have other Ryka shoes but these seem to be more appropriate for a dance class.

This style is described as a cross-training shoe. I wear them for walking, but they are not durable at all. After four months, while the uppers and interior padding show normal wear, the treads/soles are completely worn out. The fact that I am on my third pair in a year speaks to the fit and comfort, but I am going to have to look for a more durable shoe specifically designed for walking.
