Love the shoe, feels smooth without being too soft. Just right. I do agree with Alex on the sizing. If you had Rider 20's, make sure you try these on first. They appear to run about a half size larger. But, that's no problem, size down 0.5 and you're all good!

Absolutely love these shoes....incredibly comfortable! However, my problem with Mizunos in general is that their shoelaces are freakishly long! So much so, it is almost enough to keep me from buying another pair.
I'd also recommend:

This shoe is fun to run in. I have tried a whole lot of running shoes--this is the best. Shoes described as "max" cushioned or "high" cushioned often do not dissipate shock, they just delay (or perhaps even augment) shock. My family taunts that I have been on a Sisyphean quest to find a shoe which would enable me to run as I ran 30 years ago. Well, I am old and slow, but for me, this is the Goldilocks shoe (just right); it cushions shock on landing and provides a smooth transition to forefoot. I feel that I am actually running, not just jogging, or slogging.

Feels like it will be a comfortable walking shoe. Despite being a men's size is not overly wide, especially in the mid-foot and heal, and I like the action of the shoe....as it does not immediately cause me to pronate. (I have had problems with some shoes being too wide in the mid-foot and actually creating problems with my somewhat cranky knees.) To be fair, even with these I am wearing a Surefeet arch support. Would I prefer a shoe without a white sole....yes....but it will be a good shoe for walking during extended travel and I can get by with black pants for dinners in Europe.

I orderec A 1/2 size bigger than I need but still felt the toe box was narrow. If I hasnt Already worn them for two weeks, I would Have tried the next size up. Otherwise good support and cushion for me. This was the first time I tried Mizunos. I usually Buy ASICS Gel of some variety for cushioning.

Having never used this brand before, I was hesitant at first to try them. When first putting them one I thought it felt like they pushed my feet "outward" but the more I used them the more in line they became. It was a different feel from my normal show for sure, but I did like the lightness of them. The one note I would make is if you wear inserts or orthotics it changes the feel immensely and makes the heel much looser, so beware of that going in.

I have never used Mizuno before and was provided a pair to review for my blog. I have to say I was pleasently surprised. As runners we tend to "stick with what works" and not venture outside of that. I am glad I had this opportunity to try these out. The ride was great, just enough cushioning, and the heel-toe drop of 12mm was perfect for me.

I had to return them because the hard plastic support on the side of the shoe dug into my foot.

My first pair. I was going to use them for running, but they are VERY unstable in the longitudinal roll axis. Not good for running on uneven ground. I twisted my ankle, luckily only slightly, on my very first trail run. I don't even recommend them for street running. They are very good looking though. I like the black/gray/silver with the red accent on the sole. I'll use them at the gym for lifting.

I’m a big Mizuno fan. I ran in older Wave Riders and my favorite (and most underrated shoe, IMO) is the Wave Catalyst 2. These shoes have come so far in terms of being comfortable and not so firm. They are still responsive but now feel nearly perfect to me in terms of firm-to-responsive ratio. Where this shoe fell completely apart for me is the heal collar. Wow did it rub into the sides of my heel. I felt it on both feet and it was so painful I had to give up on the shoes. I haven’t heard of any other people with this problem, so it may just be me.

Very poor quality; I bought shoe for comfort wear, not running. After 1 year (exactly 12 months and 3 weeks from purchase) the mesh tore in one shoe. I contacted Mizuno and provided copy of bank statement (for receipt) and picture of damage. Mizuno refused to do anything because it was after the one year warranty. I understand it was 3 weeks after warranty, but the mesh tearing with super low use is ridiculous low quality. I wore shoe maybe two days per week, with no running. They were comfortable, but now a grub wear pair. Low quality for the price.

Disappointed with the purchase. I have had several pairs of Wave Riders, and they have been great shoes, but the WR21s don't cut it. First, to avoid any confusion, the "Eclipse/Green" color should just be called Purple. Not at all a deal breaker, but these are much more purple than they looked in the pictures. Second, if you liked previous iterations of Wave Riders, I think you will be very disappointed. It appears that manufacturing has changed from China to Vietnam, and along with the switch, cost cutting measures must have been implemented. For instance, I believe everything from the foam to the rubber on the sole of the shoe is of inferior quality compared to previous models. The thicker, heavier duty foam that previously lined the heel and heavy wear areas has been replaced with a much softer, cheaper, and less durable foam. Third, A major deal breaker for me was the width. My previous Wave Riders had a nice wide, roomy construction (regular width purchased on previous pairs and Wave Rider 21s, so I am comparing apples to apples). The 21s unfortunately are about 1/2" narrower, and it's frustratingly noticeable. Additionally, the tongue seems shorter than on previous models, so don't plan on using the last eyelet on the 21s. Save yourself the hassle, and for about $20 more, buy 2 pairs of Wave Rider 20s while they are still available. That should hold you over while you shop for a new brand. Huge disappointment out of Mizuno on these.

The heel backing wore out in 3 months- maybe 100 miles of running. Got a blister on the back of my heel in a race. Will be looking for different shoes next time.
