Order up a size, I wear an 8 and a 9 seemed to fit. These are lighter than my other waterproof hiking shoes (Merrell) and have some great features however there's a weird thick piece of padding at my Achilles tendon which dug into both my feet so they have to go back unfortunately.

I walk on concrete floors 8 hrs a day 5 days a week. I use to wear the birkie no body pain at the end of the day. But they don't make them anymore. So I tried these based on reviews. I hurt wear I have never hurt before.

I normally wear a size 8 in athletic shoes and 7.5 in casual or dress shoes, but based on the reviews I ordered a 9. It was about a half size too big. Should have ordered an 8.5. These are sturdy shoes, thick and heavy soles, with moderate arch support. The tongue was too stiff and cut straight across rather indented in the middle so it dug into the top of my foot when I walked.

Sadly, I returned these. I had ordered a full size larger than I wear. They looked small right out of the box but they fit OKAY - but after walking in them on my treadmill, they felt very STIFF. I just didn't trust to keep them, try them on a hike, then be limping. Very nice LOOKING shoe. But just not right on MY feet. Think I'll stick with a good athletic shoe and scotchgard.

Replaced the insert with superfeet. These are not cushioned for long walks on pavement. Stiff hiking shoes only. Have not yet tested water resistance. Trying to replace my beloved Montrails has been a bear, and these don't do it.

Waterproofing did not last. Water from wet grass comes up through the soles after 9 months and about 360 miles walked.

After half a dozen wearings, these shoes still feel like wooden boxes on my feet. My little toes are forced to curl under the other toes and I can hardly wait to get them off. Of course I can’t return them now.

They felt big and clunky, although the fit was correct. -- Reviewers had said to go up a size. Also, they do not roll well -- at least for me and the heel rise is too tall, but I'm used to the flatness of Altras.

I usually wear a 9W in most styles of shoes. These were 9.5W but felt way smaller -- very tight across the instep and a little short in the toe. I really need some waterproof hiking shoes, but these don't work. The search must go on.

Comfortable and good fit.
However, they are sold as "waterproof" but the waterproofing only lasted through a couple of months of walking in dewey grass for a couple of miles half of the mornings. I have similar shoes of another brand that, although less comfortable, have been waterproof with similar-to-more-extensive use for a about a year and a quarter so far.

These shoes gave me so many blisters. so many. I wore them on a short hike to break them in and everything was fine, but on subsequent longer hikes I got deep painful blisters in so many places. They also arent very cushioned or supportive and it sometimes felt like my feet were cramping. I want to give them some credit, though, because the grip on the sole of the shoe is great-- minimal slippage.

Felt good putting them on, they looked good and were advertised 'waterproof' so I wanted to love them. After 3 miles walking, not so much. Something where an overlapping of seams on my left foot had rubbed my toe raw [yes, I wear good socks]. SO, sorry, they had to be returned.
