Large Fit my 10 year old perfectly.

A bit small/tight, but still great.

I bought these for my 5 year old granddaughter - she wears a size 12 and they fit her perfectly. Try to find a pair of real wool socks for a kid in the stores - Impossible! Thank you for having them Zappos! She loved the bright colors (pink & purple) and the first thing she said when I put them on her was "Oh, so comfy!" they are nice and soft and great quality. Love them!

So, if your kid is between sizes then I’d say size up. I was surprised as when I bought the adult Smartwool socks, they ran large. Kids ones seem to run a bit small. My kid wears a size 13 and these just fit.

These socks run very small. I would say that the size large range is only up to a size 2 or 3, certainly not a size 6 as they are labeled. I cannot really comment on the comfort or style, but Zappos forces me to enter something.

Smartwool Light Hikes are the only socks we buy our children. They fit well, are comfortable, and are durable.

We love these socks for a very picky kiddo particular about comfortable socks.

My kiddos attend outdoor school. We like these socks better than other brands because they are slightly thinner, which makes them easier for younger children to get boots on and off. They are warm enough for winter but light enough for daily use.

I wear a womans 4.5-5 and these socks (in size L) fit beautifully. They are perfect for the colder weather when my usual running ankle height socks are a bit cold. Love them and ordered 2 more pair.

Great for hiking in mud and creek crossings!

Bought these to try on my 4yo son's super sweaty feet. So far so good. Will be buying more pairs.

These were exactly what I wanted and the quality is wonderful!

My daughter struggles with cold feet and during the winter months in Minnesota it is an even bigger problem. Smartwool keeps her feet warm but are not too bulking! They are soft and comfortable!

My son wears these around our house in the cold New England winters. They are cushy and soft and keep feet cool better than slippers. They also go great in outdoor play!

But I wish they also made these in a plain white or a plain navy that could be worn with a school uniform. Kids feet would stay warm and dry at school :(

My 11 year old son loves these socks. Going to buy more. Not itchy, and they keep his feet warm and dry even during our very wet NE spring. He even wore a pair to bed -- something he never does.

Wish they came in more colors

I agree, I went to purchase more as the M I bought last year are too small for a 5 year old now. They were small to begin with, not thrilled there are not more sizes. No way my 5 year old can wear any of these nice socks anymore. The size chart is way off, or something else? Not excited. These are great socks. I have like 20 pairs I wear to work in a COLD lab and wanted my kids to wear Smartwool also. Not sure what size I actually need now. XS and Small got a lot of use, Med lasted a few wears before we decided they were just too small. Scared to order Large.

I bought two pairs of these socks for my 5yo last winter. Each pair was maybe worn 1x a week for the winter season. The quality must be very poor because each pair quickly got holes in them! The holes were in odd places tooi.e. on top of the foot. So by Spring, I threw both pairs away. Just feels like way too much money to spend on kids socks that hardly last one season. Really disappointed.

Wow, we have been fans of the medium and light-weight hiking socks since my son was a tiny boy. We've gone through all three sizes now: small, med and now large. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!! The size large is exactly like the medium size he wears, not much bigger actually than a small! What are you guys doing? We are a Smartwool family! We have invested $100s over the years in sox alone. We almost exclusively buy your socks. Age a young age my son LOVED your hiking socks. I was so excited to spend money to buy 6 pair this week (three light crew, three medium crew). Both of us were so sad to see how small your LARGE is! What the heck is going on with quality control??!! And please don't write back here and tell me (like you did to another reviewer) that you have a great return policy. I don't want to return them. I want the great Smartwool quality I am accustomed to. My son squeezed a pair of these socks on, but honestly, they are exactly the same as his medium size socks, if not smaller. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!! We both thought you sent the wrong size. Imagine how we felt when we saw the size was indeed LARGE.
