I bought the brown leather version of these Nunn Bush chukkas, and the brown pictured above is much lighter than the pair I received, more of a dark brown. Also, the memory foam STINKS. I placed the shoes outside for a day, but whenever I wear them, I can smell that chemical smell notorious with memory foam. Having said all of that, the shoes are really comfortable and handsome as all get out. So, I'm torn. If the smell doesn't go away soon, I'll be forced to stop wearing them, but I'm hoping, hoping, hoping that it will.

They smell terrible. Like they were dipped in chemicals of some sort. They were stinking up my closet. Had to return them.

The black ones look more like a very dark grey, not a true black. On the back of the black version, there's a brown patch at the top of the shoe. Its the same patch as on the brown suede ones. It's hard to see in the black boot pictures. I didn't like the patch at all, but no one sees it as it's normally hidden under the pant leg. The memory foam in these shoes smells awful. I let it sit for 2 and a half days before wearing it and it still smelled (while I was wearing them) nearly a week later. Even with the memory foam, the boots don't feel incredibly comfortable. I wouldn't want to wear these on a day where I expected to walk a whole lot. They're fine to wear to work (in an office) but that's about it.

Color darker than photo

The brown color is 3-4 shades darker than it appears on the website. It also has a fairly strong chemical smell right out of the box. I returned them so am not sure how soon that goes away.
