I just received my GRP mat and found out it is kind of slippery when dry. I wish my hands wer not slipping away while downward facing dog, but it seems it only grips when my hands are wet.

I bought this mat a few weeks ago, and the first few times I used it I had no issues. Between every class I have cleaned it with the daily use solution and let it dry fully. Despite those efforts, I am now slipping during my hot yoga classes. I would love to find a solution for this. I love the texture and thickness of the mat, just need to not slip! Help please.

I bought this mat specifically because I thought it would be the best mat for daily hot practice. It's not. Grip is not what I expected at this price point. I have a very well worn lululemon mat that is still way better than this one. Very disappointed!!

I bought this mat for my boyfriend before we joined a new hot yoga studio. From the moment we opened the box, it smelled like fish. We tried everything, washing it down with soap and water, spraying essential oils mixed with water, leaving it out in the sun, practicing in it for 3 weeks to 'sweat the smell out'. Nothing has worked and it has been one month. People look over at us in yoga assuming I smell like...fish. It's embarrassing and makes practicing distracting. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

High quality, great padding, great grip. No need for towel in non heated yoga. However not a great option for hot yoga for above average sweaters. The mat has the ability to soak up some sweat but will become waterlogged and puddle like any other mat when full. A mat that is full with sweat is gross and very heavy. The smell is horrendous (like rotten fish) that doesnt seem to come out of the clothes and yoga bag on the first wash. Still not sure how to clean it. So not sure this will ever get much use as I'll stick with my wonderful black mat pro I've had for 10+ years and is better than new

During practice, the mat generally starts off slippery, but as you get sweaty it gets gripper. The major downside is that it barely lasted half a year before started peeling off at the toes area when in planks or down dog.

The marketing and promises made around this mat are great. I really, really wanted this mat to work as advertised. I practice vinyasa yoga many times a week, and I sweat a ton. I *hate* slipping around on my mat and I also dislike putting a towel down because they get bunched up and can be distracting in practice. I purchased this mat based on the promise that it wouldn't slip, and it also comes in XL (I'm 6'3"). Long story short, this mat does slip *badly*. In down dog even with a little bit of sweat, my palms slip. I bought a second one of these for a friend at the same time I purchased mine. She's been slipping too, and we're both ready to return these and switch back to competitor's mats. Sorry, Manduka. This product just doesn't live up to the promises.
