I just purchased this at the studio for a yoga class. It felt so grippy that I thought it would be perfect. Who knew once your hands and feet get any bit of moisture on them, they start to slide. How absolutely disappointing. Its an expensive mat and I cant even return or exchange it. Garbage. Do not waste your money.

I have had there mat for a couple of months and like it quite a bit! Great traction, not too heavy, and excellent cushioning. I was worried about the texture and cleaning but, it cleans up quite easily. The only negative is that it is difficult to roll up tightly and fit into my mat bag. It is stiff and tends to unroll. I solve the problem by wrapping a strap around it! I use it about 4 times a week and it is an excellent surface on which to practice! Namaste, John

Love the quality of this mat! It's a little thicker and great for my one knee that can be a little sensitive. (When I would do certain exercises on that knee, I would fold other mats over to have a little cushion.) What I don't like, and thought would be the case, is that it's a little slippery. I had to buy one of those yoga towels to keep my grip. I had looked at the texture in the picture, and thought it would be fine (I've used the thinner version in my yoga studio), but it wasn't as grippy as I thought.

The Manduka X mat is good, but since I sweat a lot, I needed to buy a towel to wear it on top of the mat, otherwise it was VERY slippery. I hope it gets better with time. I also did not find information about the salt technique for the Manduka X so I did not try it.

I recently bought a Manduka X Yoga Mat. I really like that it's rubber and pretty thick, so it works well. I was hoping it would hold sweaty hands in one place, but my hands do slip on the mat :(. That is not different that the mat this one replaced. I'll just have to adjust to that.

I bought this last month and ive been using it mostly indoors for working out. Havent tried it for yoga yet, but so far its non slip and sturdy. Its just hard to roll up, but other than that its great! Serves its purpose. :)

I use this mat about 2 hours a day in five different studios throughout the week via car, bike, and subway. It travels well and is dense cushion... If it were just a little bit stickier, I'd give it a total 5!

I was very excited about the look and thickness of the mat and really wanted to love it. But I found my hands sliding in downward dog and it made me uncomfortable. I ended up not using the mat

The cushioning of this may is great - a hugeness improvement over my prior mat. However, one of my major requirements was grip, and this mat does not deliver on that. When I used the mat finder function on the website, entering grip as a requirement, this mat was the top recommendation. I do not do hot yoga, and sweat level is moderate, but I still find it necessary to use a towel.

I've been practicing on this mat about a month. I chose it because the mat finder from the company recommended it. It feels great and is sturdy, but the second my hands begin to sweat I start to slide. Feet also. The website says as you practice on it it breaks in, but it's not any better yet and I might have chosen a different mat if I could go back and get the one with the built in towel.

I like the mat, but the grip isn't great during hot yoga. My hands kept slipping the entire time.

This mat has a nice density and cushion. Unfortunately, I find it very slippery and hard to grip even though the description claimed "superior grip."

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Item is described as super non-slip. I slipped on it a lot, more than my other mat. I wiped it clean with water to remove any manufacturing preservatives, and still, super slippy.

Really disappointed in the amount of money I spent in this mat because my hands and feet slip on the mat throughout my entire practice. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and I thought maybe it just needed broken in a little but I still slide all over the place and it really is not conducive to a good practice.

I just bought this mat after practicing yoga 4 to 5 days a week on a Pro Mat, I was looking for something with a good grip, needless to say I was pretty upset yesterday when I tried the mat and was slipping more than I ever has slipped in my 25 years of practicing yoga. I am bummed I trusted your description on the mat and the girl who sold it to me at my studio. I do not dear to bring this mat to a class again, will go back to my old mat. Very disappointed customer. I have looked all over your website to try to find information on how to break the mat in.

I was debating between the Manduka Pro and this mat and decided on this one because of the price and superior grip. As soon as I started sweating, the mat became extremely slippery. I would not recommend this mat if this is your reason for purchase.
Otherwise, no complaints. Minimal scent out of package, decent shock absorption for weight/thickness, etc.

This is more narrow than standard size mats. I was slipping all over the mat when I started sweating. I am pretty disappointed in my purchase. It seems unfinished, with bits of string(?) Sticking out on all sides.

I bought this mat two months ago because I liked the weight and thickness; however, the mat is very slippery. I slide like crazy in downward facing dog and my wrists are starting to hurt as a result. I've washed it with vinegar and use it at least three times a week, and it hasn't gotten better. Unfortunately, I don't think that I'll be using it anymore.

I have had this mat for about 3 weeks and have used it several times. I bought it because of the 'dry grip', but I have been slipping everywhere. I can hardly hold a downward dog pose because my hands are about to slip out from under me. I do not recommend this product. It also has a very rough texture which hurts my hands and forehead when I have to place them on the mat.

I bought this mat and I unfortunately just really hate it :(
It literally scrapes my knees and when I practice I get brush burns on my legs and feet. It's just way too abrasive. I wish I would have bought something else less abrasive.

I bought this Mat 3 months ago. I'm still having a challenge with it since I practice daily and this mat get very slippery every day. At the first month it was very hard since the mat had oily texture. Now it's a bit better but still once get wet is slippery and hard to practice on. If I don't use a full towel on it I just can't practice. I was disappointed from this purchase and think I should have choose a different mat. But this was recommended by the website for me....
Which mat would be better for a daily yoga practice? Would be glad to get a respond.
Thanks!

Manduka markets a water proof yoga mat at a mildly high cost. I've had my mat for about 9 years. Do not use very often. The mat started to absorb sweat. Not good. I contacted them, jumped through hoops getting pics, proof of purchase, and answering lots of questions.
Only for them to come back and blame me for the issues with the mat. I used ONCE OR TWICE OVER 9 YEARS a solution with 3% vinegar and water to refresh it. It is IMPOSSIBLE to damage the mat with this solution. But to them. It was their way out of warranteing it. They put profits over customers. Sad where society has gotten.
I hope no one buys from them ever again. I will post this everywhere I can find. This is sad. They could have easily solved this with a warranty replacement and said it is a one time courtesy a d don't use that solution to clean it. But no. So now I hope to ruin their business.
No consumer should give their hard earned money to a company that does all they can to NOT warranty their products. When will companies figure out that taking care of a consumer is a small price to pay for their continued success.
At this point I pray for their failure.
