I been practicing yoga for 18 months and decided it was time to upgrade my mat . I am so glad I did what a difference! I bought the Pro series and love the thickness ( it is quite heavy ) and the added length is nice since I am tall . The grip is great and I can see this mat lasting a long time . The mat does need to be seasoned with sea salt a couple of times to break it in .

Great mat but not for heated yoga. It was recommended by the quiz even though I stated that I needed a hot yoga mat. So this was returned and I intend to get a GRP mat which is what I actually need.

Its literally so slippery its unusable. I tried the salt trick and Ive cleaned it multiple times. Its too slippery to practice on. Ill try the salt thing one more time and if its still slippery Ill be returning it. I shouldnt have to do this with a product that costs so much.

Im hoping that it will improve with time.The only downside is that it doesnt have good grip especially when my hands are sweaty I actually slide.

The best yoga mat in terms of grip, quality and support. Ive had it for more than 10 years and it got stolen so I just bought again.

It is extremely slippery, even in plank, not to mention down dog. I have dry palms and feet, so that is not the reason.

Im loving this mat! I know many reviews say its quite slippery at first but I havent had any issues. I feel like its breaking in quite nicely with my normal daily use. Im sure Ill enjoy it for many years to come!

It was so slippery at the beginning. I was frustrated while my first practice on it. Then I googled and found out that there is this break in process with the sea salt. I watched a tutorial and did it. The second practice on it worked way better but still the grip could have been better. Third practice was again a little bit better but I still dont trust the mat fully. Why cant that break in process been done by manduka? Lets see how it develops from practice to practice. Not fully convinced yet, to be honest.

Absolutely worth the extra expense! This is THE best yoga mat there is.

I use my mat for both bikram yoga & hot pilates. My feet have lots of issues. I have the 6mm & the impact absorption is outstanding during the cardio portion of pilates which has lots of jumps & burpees. While Im in yoga that grip keeps me in the pose better than any mat Ive tried!

I have had this mat for over a decade and it is still holding up. I love how clean it has stayed and how durable the cushioning has been. Highly recommend.

Generally a good yoga mat but unfortunately not grippy enough for hot yoga or hot fitness classes. I slipped the other day on mine so its time for a new mat.

It just feels amazing. Highly recommend it for all levels.

Love my Manduka Pro Mat! Once I broke it in had plenty of grip! Love the thickness! Can use on a tile or hardwood floor and it provides plenty of cushion for my joints while still being firm enough for balance poses!! I decided to invest in a quality mat after I finished my Yoga Teacher Training!! Soo happy I did! Im sure you will be too!

Very thick mat, feels great. It is bigger than my old mat, which is nice. I just wish it would be a bit less slippery

High quality, for sure. I look forward to using it for many years. I also have two suggestions for improvements. For the price, I would appreciate the inclusion of a simple strap carrier or a Velcro strap to keep the mat rolled. It is very heavy and unwieldy. In addition, could Manduka use its preferred break in method (salting and sunning) so the mat is ready to use. Im still slipping a lot after two saltings and several sweaty yoga sessions.

This mat is slippery even though I did the salt treatment. There is no way to survive a hot yoga class without a towel. I love the EKO mats and never that that issue with those and I have 2. I wish the EKO would come thicker!
