The mat is totally slippery! I already have a Manduka mat and have now ordered a larger one, but my hands just slip on the new mat! :(

Dense material means my knees and back don't hurt when changing positions. Great product!

So far, I'm very happy withe Mat ... very sturdy. I just did the Breaking in Process with the Salt and I think, it'll work just fine.

A good sturdy mat. As a thin person, it supports my spine. Will have to break it in as its a little slippery but nothing out of the ordinary. Love the color, great quality.

This was my first Yoga mat, and its great!

Im in love with this mat. I never have to grab any extra padding for my knees. The only thing is that I am 58 and the standard is just a couple inches more than my height. Okay for most Im sure.

I honestly hated this mat when I first got it. It was SO slippery. I followed the instructions for the salt treatment, but it was still so difficult to use because I was sliding all over the place. It was so bad I thought I would hurt myself. I asked others in my class with the same mat and most couldnt recall having that much of an issue with slipping. Considering they have had their mats for 10+ years, it makes sense they couldnt remember! I was determined to love this mat, so I didnt give up hope that it would break in and the slipping would stop. I bought non-slip socks and a non-slip towel for my hands. My yoga instructor said those would just extend the break in period because the mat needs the sweat from your hands and feet. I followed her advice and stopped using the socks. Within a couple of weeks, I no longer slipped! I seriously considered returning it in the beginning, but Im so glad I stuck with it. Its ironic that the thing I hated the most has now turned into my favorite thing. The grippiness has greatly improved to where I no longer feel like Im falling, but there is just enough slide to help with transitions. Its now perfect! My other favorite thing is the thickness. Its only a millimeter thicker than my last mat, but its more dense. It provides just the right amount of cushion for these 61 year old knees and joints, but its not too thick to hinder balance poses. Finally, I love the way it looks. The deep purple color is beautiful!

Unlike with my first Mandukka Pro that I had for over a decade, I followed the breaking-in instructions and wow! The mat was perfectly grippy and dare I say, felt even better than my first one. Thrilled with the limited edition colorway. Manduka forever.

Good grip and resistent material!

The mat is really thick and doesnt move on the floor. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was that my hands slip when Im in downward dog or plank.

this is my second manduka mat. not that the other one wore out, no no no. i just wanted one to be left where I teach and one at home. will never use another mat. Manduka is the best and the cadillac of yoga mats. Thank you Manduka!!!

I have been using the same two Manduka mats for the past 12 years! I bought this one so that I'd have one for my lunch hour practice- no more shuffling mats around. They truly are the Taj Mahal of yoga mats- incredible grip, quality materials, and they last for ever. There is an initial breaking in period, so for those complaining of slip, maybe you're not giving it enough time? There is also an initial odor with the material, but after a few weeks of practice followed by cleaning with a mat spray, mine is perfectly grippy and ready to go for whatever pose come next. Expensive yes, but you'll be doing right by the planet and your wallet in the long run!

I've been through a lot of yoga mats and this is my favorite, currently. I've had mine a week and did not do the salt scrub. The first couple of practices were just a tiny bit slippery, but I haven't had any other issues. I've had cheap mats and I had pricey mats. I would much rather spend more money for better quality and I'm very happy with my purchase.

A very confortable yoga mat! This is my mat for life

I was disappointed by how slippery this mat was. I should have read the reviews first. I don't know why Manduka continues to use whatever chemical makes the mat do this. I never had this problem with other mats that had a "lifetime warranty." I love the color, texture, and everything else about the mat, but the slippage is ridiculous to deal with. It's nearly impossible to hold warrior 2 and downward dog. Never mind trying to do wheel pose! The salt / water wash and other "break-in" methods I read about did not work. :(

I have only used it once so far and have to say that upon my practice the mat was so slippery that i could hardly do the asanas. If you have any idea as to how it can stop from being that slippery I would be happy to know it. Also, I find it to heavy in regards to other mats i have used in the past. other than that, it is a very elegant and good quality mat.

I bought my pro mat about 15 years ago and it is still going strong with regular use! Its worth every penny. Still has great grip for regular glasses. For some of the more sweaty I do need a yoga towel. (But that no different from when I first got the mat). Also the thickness is great for my knees especially as Ive gotten older.

Had a small tear when it arrived

The 6 mm Manduka PRO Yoga Mat is an excellent mat for a yoga studio, but not to be carried to and from Yoga classes. I found this mat way to heavy to carry.

The mat feels like such good quality. It was a big splurge for me to buy this mat but Im really happy with my purchase. I love the Elderberry color. I love the thickness. I have sensitive knees and I feel really comfortable on this mat.

I am really happy I got this mat. I had doubts, asked different friends, read reviews and it came highly recommended, but one never knows... I've absolutely loved it from the first time I step on it. The consistency and the feeling are great. It has some kind of power, if I may. I do hope what they say it's true and it will last for life.

Like the cushion, appearance and overall impression of my PRO mat. Still breaking it in, so not too happy yet with the feel...mat surface sticky but not yet enough to stop some hand & foot slip. Seems like this could be "fixed" after manufacture, sold read to use. It's not optimum if every user must salt, scrub, use to get it best usable.
