The heel is more narrow then in the past. It makes for a better fit. The leather is study and the soles are thick. These are a great shoe for waking in and it looks like it will last a very long time. They don't seem to breath as well as I'd like but they still are funtional.

I've been buying this shoe for years and find it excellent when worn with one of the NB orthotics (which does make it pricey). I like to use the "runner's loop" at the top for a snug fit and I agree with others who have remarked that the tongue us too short now. Even 1/4 inch longer would make it much easier to avoid the lace missing the tongue at the top and digging into your skin. In addition it seems my latest pair lasted a bit less than a year and started separating between the sole and the body of the shoe. Still will buy again!!

The shoes are "stability control' that helps with side motion. They are comfortable but are $25 overpriced.

All in all, the shoes feel great. The toe box could be a smidge taller, most noticeable with a thicker sock and a longer walk ... it's just a thing I look for in my old age

It's been difficult to find shoes wide enough to fit and supportive enough to wear all day. These shoes excel at both.

I have a long narrow pronated foot (13B). Needless to say, finding a pair of shoes that fit and are comfortable is difficult. I have repeatedly gone to NB to find a shoe that meets my needs. The only drawback is that I cannot find a pair of replacement shoelaces when the woven laces that come with the shoe wear thin or tend to stretch out.

Wish these shoes were more classy looking instead of old people looking.

I have been using New Balance almost exclusively for athletic and "casual" shoes since 1978,as they offer my NARROW sizes in many models. Most of my "Casual Dress" shoes are from New Balance's Dunham division, which also offers NARROW sizes. NB's fit well & hold up well.
I'd also recommend:

This is a pretty good quality pair of Men's walking shoes. But I'm very disappointed to look at the label and see that they are made in Vietnam! For the price I paid for these shoes and from previous pairs of the same model # they used to be made in the United States!

The shoe is just what I expected, but the sole tends to collect dirt and pine straw in its treads. These track into the house. To be fair, this shoe is better than most New Balance Shoes - and - other brands have the same weakness.

I read some old reviews about the tongue being short. Like a NB believer, I figured you would have fixed it by now. NO, why do that when people still buy them. Why? That is how you keep and maintain longtime customers. Get it fixed.

Very, very nice shoe. A good walking shoe, lots of stability. On the flip side, the suede makes it dressy enough to wear with jeans or even khakis and you could stretch it with a sport coat. One down side-New Balance can run narrow in the tow box, even version 3, so be aware before you take them out on the street and may not be able to return them.

I love the shoes but still haven't heard anything about the 10% that I was supposed to get but it would not let me apply it. I could've gotten them cheaper here at home. Not happy that I paid more for them then I needed to!

I love how this shoe looks and it's incredibly comfortable. I do a lot of walking around at work and the shoe is a delight, particularly because it's made in wide sizes. That said, I wear a 10.5 2E in New Balance running shoes, but with this shoe it is just a tad too long. I'd probably order a 10 2E when it's time to replace this one. Also, it's to be expected with a leather shoe, but it scuffs very easily.

Very well made shoe. I wear a 10 1/2 NB running shoe. A size 10 in "walking shoe" was a better fit.

The shoe has a large volume which I can use. I have several size 14, 5/6 E wide and I use my own orthotics along with those inserts provided. Do lots of hiking and backpacking. Several trips involve stream crossings by the dozens and I have used New Balance in the past, so I tried these........they have a stabilizer(?) I guess that is the very hard wedge shaped plate under the heel and forward. Most uncomfortable for me as the shoe will not bend smoothly when walking. Thank you Zappos for the chance to try them. I wish I could find a trail runner like the discontinued NB Leadville.....It has done 4 of the river wading trips.(any ideas)

I usually purchase leather tops but they were not available so I went with a cloth top. It is harder to keep clean. Stick with the leather. Other than that the shoe is very comfortable and worth the cost.

Have been wearing 928s for years. Best shoe I’ve found to help with neuropathy. Didn’t notice a change from 928 to 928V2, but the 928V3 has a tongue that is a half inch shorter - so short that it slips out from under the upper laces after only a few minutes of wear. Wish they had left it longer and charged a bit more rather than trying to cut costs by trimming it. Hope they fix that in V4!
