The shoes have great balance control and plenty of toe space. I can wear them with spring and summer outfits. Plus I can hiike in them.

I usually wear an 8.5 wide, which is what I bought, and they fit well. They feel sturdy and have good support too. They are not the most gorgeous shoes on the planet, but I walk about 5 miles a day and got them for that, so they don't need to be gorgeous. I got the 9 wide at the same time knowing I'd return one pair. The 9 wide was too long for my foot.

Well crafted with SL2 -- great for nerve damaged foot with generous toe box and narrow in heel. Support for flat feet.
I'd also recommend:
Clark with velcro closure to help with low-instep and narrow foot; Keene sandals with velcro

My first NB in many years. I got fitted and was totally floored (excuse the pun); my foot has changed dramatically in that I went from 6 wide to a 71/2 medium shoe (sneaker). I had to try the 928v3 on several times, they felt tight in the shoe box. So, all sneakers are supposed to be soft and cushy and comfortable, right? Well, I learned a lot about the many shoes I picked out and of those shoes I asked for the best support, med. arch, and a shoe that prevents overpronating. I can’t begin to count how many shoes I tried on, and none of them met any of my requirements (podiatrist requirements). So, I asked the shoe person to pick some for me. It was then that I realized that a good supportive shoe means the bottoms don’t flex like a running shoe, the sides of the shoe are firm and doesn’t allow the foot and heel to slosh around in the shoe. I thought the toe box was tight and could possibly make my pinky toe go numb and cause the top of my instep to become really painful. I had doubts so I decided to trust the young man helping me; I tried this 928v3 again, and again (longer each time) I couldn’t get past the firmness. 10 minutes past closing I tried them on again (and tried some others on in between). I paid close attention to how I walk in them. I wasn’t walking to fit my shoes, I was walking for my shoes to fit me! My entire stride had changed and in that short of time I could feel my ankle supported and my knees and hips that hurt so badly felt less pain… seriously? Yes, most seriously!!! This shoe wasn’t my idea of comfortable but it checked all the boxes for my shoe requirements. I tried them on again (yes again). It was then that I also realized that they were comfortable… toes fit in toe box misunderstanding tight for supported and my need for a heel that fit properly but still had a tiny bit of slide(I always wore clog type shoes).
This shoe is what I wanted but sincerely didn’t know what a well fitted shoe was or felt like. A supportive shoe doesn’t mean just the size of the arch (so I used to think). Don’t misunderstand me, a proper arch completes the support of the shoe. The arches in this shoe I would say are minimal and I plan to swap them out for an insert with a higher arch and padding for the balls of my skin and bone feet.
I can’t compare any of the previous models of this 928v3, I but I have a supportive shoe that helps reduce pain and fatigue from the bottom up. The leather is firm but buttery; and I find all of this intriguing. I am diabetic and need shoes that won’t cause blisters or chafing. I have found a diamond in the rough (30 shoes later). This shoe is well made, I think they will last a very long time!

This motion control shoe made a huge difference in my pain level and my life. After more than a year of suffering lateral foot pain so bad I could hardly walk (collapsed arches, achilles tendonitis, peroneal tendonitis) -- and getting no help from podiatrists, no help from wearing good stability shoes (New Balance 990v5) with good arch supports, my pain continued, getting worse as the day went on each day. I thought I was on my way to being disabled. Finally, I decided to try a motion control shoe (New Balance 928v3) with my Powerstep insoles. The FIRST day, as the day progressed I kept waiting for the pain to start. IT NEVER DID. To test this I put on my former New Balance stability shoes (990v5) for a few hours and ran some errands. The pain returned. Got home, took them off and put the 928 Motion Control shoes back on. NO PAIN. For me, after a year of intense daily suffering, this is a MIRACLE. The only reason I gave this a 4-Star for Comfort is that the tongue is too short and narrow. If the tongue were longer and wider I'd give it a 5. Hopefully when a new version of the 928 comes out, which is overdue, New Balance will fix this tongue issue.

I have worn this kind of shoe for at least the last twenty years. They have the rollover bar in them which my Dr. says it helps keep your balance. I am now 83 years old and would not change for anything. I recommend them to everyone.

I've worn nothing but New Balance for the last 10 years. I hope NB goes back to making 4E width shoes in the sizes and styles they used to - some of us have NO CHOICE as 'wide' usually isn't really wide enough.

They run really narrow, so I had to order wide.

I am flat-footed & a pronator. (I do wear orthotics) These shoes were recommended to me by a PR - stabilizer bar for pronation & I can easily insert my orthotics. I've worn them for over 2 decades! Work ( nurse) play, everyday! I like this color as it's somewhat neutral, but have ordered in white & black as well. Excellent shoe!

I love the support the New Balance 928v3 gives me. This shoe was suggested by my podiatrist. I ordered black but sure wish the navy suede was still available.

Recommend by my podiatrist for my foot drop and neuropathy. No break in time needed. Very comfortable. Only drawback is the cost.

I have bad feet. I've had surgery on both of them. My right foot had major reconstructive surgery. I cannot walk around the house barefoot for long periods of time. I use this shoe for my "indoor" shoe. I wear it like a house slipper with my orthotics in place of the insole. It's extremely comfortable and gives me the support that I require. I have nothing bad or negative to say about this shoe. It also is made of a material that isn't porous like some of the more modern nylon covered shoe. I live in the midwest and the winters are cold. This shoe keeps my foot warm and cozy as well.

Great work shoe. I work retail on concrete floors 10 hours a day. This kind of shoe with roll bar was recommended by my podiatrist. This is the shoe I get over and over.

This shoe is the only shoe that is comfortable for me. I have a special orthotic that goes into the shoe perfectly. The shoe is not heavy and allows me to walk comfortably daily.

I have an unusual shoe size (5-1/2 wide) and New Balance is my go-to brand because of the availability in wide sizes. A couple years ago I found these very comfortable and supportive walking shoes in the gray color. I wore them out! When I tried to reorder, I couldn't find them in my size, so I switched to the dark blue suede. As others have mentioned, that color shoe has a cutout for the ankle that is way too high. The dark blue ones are very painful at first, and with wear become painful by the end of the day, plus the tongue is short and thinly padded. Gray shoes work for winter and summer. I switched to a Saucony gray shoe which was squeakingly disastrous in quiet places. I was thrilled to find New Balance again had the gray in my size (6 pairs left), and the next day I ordered a pair when only 2 pairs were left. New Balance makes great shoes, and I've never had a squeaky pair. I wear custom orthotics that work great with NB since the factory insole is removeable, and the type of sole on this shoe is exactly what my podiatrist recommended. I hope NB continues to stock them!

I have persistent tendinitis and plantar faceitis and podiatrist has ordered these for me. I cannot wear any other shoe at all because the support is not there. I replace insoles with PowerStep insoles and I feel ok. I have worn this everyday for at least 4 years now. I only wish that there were more colors to choose from. I wear narrow but I definitely cannot wear any other style.

This shoe has become a Unicorn for me. I look high and low for these shoes often but they never exist until one day, after all that looking, "poof" one turns up. I have a torn tibial tendon and a replaced tibial tendon in the other foot. These shoes make it possible to walk every day. I love my white ones and the tan ones are very nice as well. Both are great don't scream "GERIATRIC!!" I love how they hold up and they wash nicely. I don't know that I'll ever find a shoe as supportive as this. But I don't know I'll ever find this shoe again.

Same shoe I have worn for many years. Does not require breaking-in. I use an orthodox to help ease the width of my foot and add to the arch support. Mine are 'old' feet and need the tremendous amount of support this shoe provides.

I've worn these over 10 years, though purchase new ones every two years. Mayo Clinic recommended these for my Plantar Fasciitis, and I haven't had a problem since. I wear these every day, and they do last quite a long time.

The best shoe, including other New balance shoes, for preventing pain below my toes. I can actually take really long walks and basically be on my feet for hours without pain when I'm wearing these shoes. The toebox is perfect for me. I just wish they weren't so expensive!
