I liked the older model better and this was my fourth pair of hoka flip flops. This one seems like the straps are too big and they feel like they are going to fall off.

I have worn my size, for more decades than I care to remember. All brands, no matter. Same size.
These were not even close. Way, way too large.
With that, the return policy and instructions were seamless and my refund was timely.
Bought the next size down.

After reading reviews about how much better these were than Oofos, we decided to give them a try. Although we used the sizing chart, my wife's were too big, though mine were just right. The thing we both experienced was the discomfort of the thong strap. Although it's mostly a neoprene material, the edges appear to have been "sealed" and that made them very sharp and uncomfortable. The area between the toes became very irritated within minutes of wearing them. They are also much firmer than Oofos, so they lack that spongy pillow feeling that makes Oofos so nice.
I'm sure the slide version of the Hoka works better, but I definitely would not recommend the flip.
I'd also recommend:

My husband loves it for it is super comfortable. We had to buy one for my father in law. Next thing you know everyone in my family will buy too. Please make more of these in different colors. For women too.

Great sole so comfy. Sole is exactly like the bondi so for this price, this flip flop would be a great deal. Unfortunately the thong is a little too loose so it would slip off my foot when I walk too fast.

I have Just purchased the sandals. The are very comfortable just like my Hoka Shoes. However I do not recommend wearing outside. The soles have crevices which pick up tiny rocks, in my case lots of tiny rocks. Going in and out of my house I have scratched our hardwood floor. I have never seen anything like it. It Hoka had the option of a flat solid sole without the crevices on the bottom then I would consider buying again.

I am admittedly new to the Hoka brand, but so far, I have really been impressed with their products that I have purchased.
I purchased both these Recovery Flips and the Recovery Slides - and I love them both! - and use them for just enough different purposes to justify owning both. Really like the arch support, which is noticeably different than most other flip flops I have owned through the years, and the cushioning quickly becomes like super-supportive memory foam for the feet. Super comfortable to wear as an all-day/do-everything flip flop. I have read previous reviews about discomfort caused by the thong strap (between the big and second toes), and whereas I did notice a little discomfort when first wearing them, they seemed to break in very quickly and I don't notice it at all anymore.
Last thing: I am probably a proper size 10 1/2 shoe size (Men's), but have worn size 11 of another brand's running shoe for years, and recently purchased and fit perfectly into a pair of size 11 Hoka Rincons (that's a whole separate, wonderful review), so I purchased these in a size 11 as well. The 11s just felt too loose and floppy on my foot, so I purchased the size 10s at a later date and realized immediately that these were the better fit to my foot. No worries, though, as Hoka's awesome Return Policy made it hassle-free and literally free to return the 11s that didn't quite fit for a full refund. Anyway, if your shoe size is a half-size, I would strongly suggest sizing down when purchasing these.
Great purchase - you won't regret it, and your feet will be grateful!

Size ordered fit almost perfectly, however, fit itself has shortcomings. First, its too loose for a real comfortable fit, and suspect would get looser as worn over time. Feels cheaply made, almost a plastic feel, after I first put them on, first noticed the plastic feel, then the lack of snugness for a flip. Walked with them and almost immediately felt that then flips were not made for comfort. I wear Hoka runners, most comfortable shoes for walking and running I have ever owned. But the Flips need to come a long way to compare with the Hoka shoes. Returned them really unsatisfied, thought they would be comparable all the way around with the shoes. Sadly mistaken.

Loved my first set of Flips but the straps on the new model cut the skin on my feet.

I was directed to buy these by my podiatrist for plantar fasciitis pain I was having. He couldn't have been more right because these are phenomenal. Anyone having pain from PF, BUY THESE.

I'm not a runner, but a long time Hoka fan, and these are amazing... So cushy and soft, can definitely be worn all day. My only problem with it is that the thong is super loose fitting, but other than that, they're perfect.

Great flip flops. Since they arrived, I have used them exclusively walking our dog. Superb support. And the Coral is quite fetching, for a 70+ year-old!

Felt great when I put them on but a bit of walking around and I knew it wasn't going to work. The straps attach way back to where the arch ends and heel begins and rubs the inside of my foot. Might have been okay except the strap material is plastic with sharp edges. Seemed like they would have provided great support but the straps are terrible. I like the nice soft wide strap on the FitFlops I kept. But the bottoms of these slippers seem more supportive. Wish someone would make a supportive men's slipper in WIDE WIDTH!

I am a big Hoka fan currently wearing Clifton 5 and Stinson ATR 5. This is a great flip, although the first time its flip flop rubbed my foot skin and slightly hurt, but onwards its turned out to be my regular footwear, which I now use walking around home and outdoors/errands etc. Great product as always and keep up the good work.

As a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, I definitely have aching feet. These flops are the only thing that I wear that hug my feet in total comfort. I use them for house slippers as well. Cannot say enough good things about them

The footbed was a perfect width, however the top of the thong was over 1/4" too high/loose and simply did not work. This is unfortunate. HOKA's have been by orthopedic surgeon's shoe of choice for me, and my personal choice, but this slide-on sandal is made for someone with a thicker (vs wider) foot. I don't have enough bulk to fill the space, but need the width of the footbed. Simply won't stay on and no way to tighten.

The size and fit are spot on. I love the Hoka brand of anything, I have probably purchased at least 10 different pairs over the last few years, as a mid distance runner at 75 yoa , One should change shoes every 6 months to keep knees, ankles , and back from injury. These flip flops, are my second pair, the 1st pair lasted over 2 years before a strap came loose, so I am replacing with a new pair. It looks like perhaps a poor design as the strap looks to be glued into the bottom paltform, and once the adhesive becomes aged it fails. 2 years, not bad in a warm and humid climate, so I rate them a 4 out of 5.

My husband absolutely loves these shoes. He suffered traumatic injuries to his feet and ankles 30 years ago, as a result of a 40 ft fall onto concrete working as a tree trimmer. He has undergone multiple foot surgeries, has bilateral ankle and mid foot fusions, has chronic pain and nerve damage and post traumatic arthritis. His feet hurt him every second of every day. Finding shoes that are comfortable for him has been a struggle, and often he refers to most shoes as feeling like "bear traps" on his feet. These shoes have given him hope for finally being able to spend a little more time on his feet without being in pain. He literally says these are his "magic" shoes! He has a pair of the lace up shoes, the recovery slip on as well as the flip flops. I will be buying him these shoes from now on. Finding a shoe that does not cause him more pain than he already has is a blessing!

My doctor suggested them for foot support because I like to go barefoot around the house and in my yard. They feel great and I hardly notice that I am wearing anything on my feet, but my feet no longer hurt at the end of the day.

I am a Hoka fan and wear only the Hoka running shoes but this one disappointed me. Its flip-flop strap has hurt my left foot between toes or the upper part I should say. It peeled the skin off. I couldnt wear it until it healed. I have other flip flops with which I even did brisk walks outdoors. Not impressed.
The area should not be that tight.
