Candidly, I really wanted to like these. Love Hokas. Closing in on my 15th pair. Felt they came in with some serious hype given the 50 mile champ who co signed on them, liked the description, and weight, but it just didn’t translate for me. The toe box and top of shoe was very narrow for my traditional size. I hadn’t run any ultra distances in them, but could only surmise this lack of room would inevitably become an issue as my feet swell. The squishy feel left me trying to find to find the sweet spot within the landing zone which never quite arrived similar to that of previous models I loved like mafate, Stinson atr, or bondi. Lastly, they were noisy. At first, I thought this would subside after a few runs, but it unfortunately didn’t. They sound like there either wet or I have have sprayed some type of stick’em to the soles. Whatever the reason, the outcome is annoying. As indicated above, I love Hokas, but this model was a bridge (or goat) too far. Reordered the lovely bondi 5 which is a super ride in every way. Hope this is helpful.

Great all a round trail shoe. It is a hoka so slightly on the narrow side.

I was reluctant to buy the first version of the Speedgoat, because the shoe seemed too narrow, and the toe box looked too small. It seemed the shoe was made specifically for Karl. However the second version seemed to widen the toe box, and so I decided to give them a try. I have nothing but good things to say about this shoe. It's true to size and width and it handles technical trails like a beast. The vibram soles make taking on slippery rocks and roots a breeze. I was coming off a pair of HOKA Challenger ATRs, and quite frankly Southern trails just chewed them up. But, the Speedgoat 2 is up to the challenge. I've run the Dizzy 50K and the Mountain Mist 50K in them and the performed spectacularly.

I had to return these because they were way too narrow. For some reason Hoka decided to manufacture the Speedgoat 2 on a much narrower last than the Stinson ATR 4, which I also have. The Stinsons are the same stated width (D-moderate) but fit my somewhat wide feet very well. Wish I understood why the industry always defaults to an impossibly narrow foot size.

I just bought these to go hiking in (day hikes; 3-10 miles). They arrived to my house so quickly which was wonderful! I wore them today and they felt great; like walking on a cloud. They absorbed jumps and impacts I was making. I have high arches and after a 5 mile hike my feet feel great. I didn't slip at all (and the incline was steep and the terrain rocky). I definitely recommend these shoes.

Excellent cushion, wonderful for long distance and speed intervals. I alternate between speedgoat2 and Bondi6 for marathon and ultra training. However I chose speedgoat for the cushion for everyday exercise.

I've been using my Speedgoats on the trails and they are fabulous! Great traction and stability. They are also much lighter than my last pair of shoes.

This is my second pair of speedgoats and they are my absolute favorite shoes ever! From the box to the trail, these are so comfy right out of the box. I run about 6 days a week 3-5 miles on mountainous trails and dirt roads. No more rolled ankles or stone bruises I've had with Salomons and Brooks.

I am a very active person who has never found much if any enjoyment in running. I love mountain biking, hiking (including fast paced, long distance trips) and more, but could never seem to get a run in that didn't involve heinous cramping and generally unpleasant conditions. These shoes really do feel like running on a cloud, and while a bit noisy, have done just fine on pavement and seem quite ideal for mixed conditions. Knee issues I have had in the past have gone away and I've found myself smashing any previous PRs. In terms of fit, they fit similarly to my Salomon shoes (Speed Cross and X-Mission). They are narrow through the foot like the Salomons. Length wise, they are nearly identical (perhaps the Hoka's are a smidge shorter). Toe box feels a bit narrower, with the rest of the shoe feeling very comparable. I far prefer the lacing on the Hoka's and can hone in the fit much better. The cushioning absorbs the shock of long descents in a way that my Salomons never have.

Use Bondi 6's for jogging 5 days a week and bought Speedgoat 2's for dog walking etc on a local rail trail. I love the cushioning and grip of the speed goats and while I think the size is a "true" fit they do feel a little narrow when I transition back and forth although I think it's more that the Bondi's have a wider last.

I ordered up 1 full size because I have always done so with a running shoe period. The shoe makes difficult steps to knees easier. There is a momentary learning curve, but it is worth the effort. My two coworkers tried my shoes and purchased. I sent a pair to my boyfriend in school in another state. We all feel the same way, worth every penny!

Would be even more awesome if there was an option for arch support insert instead of the standard liner - but that may be too much of a niche. Love the shoe!

This is my second pair. I wore my first pair out after hundreds of miles of trail running, walking and hiking. I am a woman but I bought the men's version because the store I was at didn't have my size in women's and they have been perfect for me. No break-in period, comfortable from the first step, I'm continually blown away by the traction and stability and how light they are. I am a fan!

I'm a "seasoned" runner/walker and really appreciate the cushioning I get with my new Hokas. Half my terrain is on trail and the other half is on the street. These shoes transition nicely to both, giving me stability and comfort. Also, not sure how they do this, but brings my body into proper posture, encouraging me to walk up straight. My mother would be happy!

Let me start by saying, I have plantar fasciitis and 2 ruptured Achilles tendons. So I have bought countless shoes to help with my foot problems. Countless insoles that I wear in all my shoes because I also have high aches. I have also tried several pairs of Hoka shoes and these hands down are my Favorite. Despite my heel and foot issues, I hike every weekend. So glad someone recommended these. These will forever be my hiking shoes. The only negative is that a lot of their shoes run narrow. I wish they sold more wide shoes. I am a female and buy a Male version just to get a wider shoe.
