Have broken them in on some local trail runs on technical trails. Will be wearing them the second half of Highland Sky 40 miler this coming weekend. Feel like I've been missing out and wish I had tried Hoka sooner. Amazing ride, comfort, and control! Was concerned about the stack height since my ankles could be stronger but hasn't been an issue at all. Thinking the Speedgoat will be my go to for long runs, races, etc.

I am very active during the day, working in my house, hiking in the foothills and on the road, landscaping/gardening, cooking in a tile kitchen, and housework. I'm 68 and wear my shoes all the time - in the gym as well as in my houses, both with tile and hardwood throughout the homes. I have terrible bunions that I forget about when in my Speedgoats. My last pair I bought was for kind of dressy events. That one I intend to keep cleaner. Haha This is not your usual comment, I'm sure. But, I have always exercised and done everything around my homes mostly by myself. I wish I had them when I was a runner and gym rat. But thank goodness, I have them now. I've recommended Hoka's to my friends and especially my physical therapist and running friends. Without exception, all have been happy with the shoes and boots, which keep my feet warm when snowshoeing. Thank you.

Amazing shoe. I use them with a cork insole, and it's about as good as it gets. If I was to be super critical, I'd love to be able to add an insole and not feel a bit raised up near the heel. I'm splitting hairs here. Overall, really solid shoe for rugged terrain, and for cranking out miles all over the place!

I've been running in the Clifton series for several years - I started running again about 10 years ago after a 25 year lay-off. Since then I've run a handful of half marathons and a full, several trail half's and one called the Jupiter Peak Steeplechase - a 16 mile run that climbs up and descends around 3500 feet. All my trail runs have been in Speedgoats. I get about 450 miles out of a pair until grind the soles to a pulp and beat the cushioning out of them. I train in Hoka's and run road and trail in Hoka's, they have saved my hips, knees and ankles and now at 60, that is important!

Can't say enough about these shoes ! Don't change them. Fit & performance comes first & foremost, but I do ask that you PLEASE keep the sensational color selection of the Speedgoats. While I have liked a variety of your others runners, I have left them because they have gotten so "girlie" in colors: I tend to like the men's colors better.

These are the only sneakers I can wear comfortably for any length of time. I've had several toe surgeries, hammer toe & bunion. I have wide feet with high arches and need to wear orthotic inserts. While I love these shoes, I wish here was a better selection in wides.

These shoes were prescribed by my Podiatrist. Finally have feet relief and can walk without pain. Shoes are worn to hike park trails (2-7 miles semi rough terrain) 2 to 3 times a week and just my get around shoes.

the shoes fit just fine didn’t feel as though they were off size at all. The vibram souls worth the cost as well as the comfort of the shoe. I am on my feet almost all day so when I get home and put these on to run my feet feel as though they are getting a break. Can’t explain how pleased I am with the comfort. The bottom of the shoe is wide and gives you a sturdy platform to stand on. Hopefully the overall shoe lasts only time will tell. But would suggest these shoes. Worth every penny!

This is my first pair of Speedgoat2, I am very surprised and pleased of this pair provided. It doesn't require break in, I wore to walk and stand for nearly 6 hours in theme park at first try, I rarely feel pain after long hours unlike other brand names did. Speedboat is well-balanced, provides enough height and cushion to support ankles... and will be my only outdoor walking/activity shoe from now on.

I pulled these out of the box and took them for a 7 mile break in run through the desert and they were great. I was a little apprehensive when I saw how high the heel was, but when I compared them to my regular Clifton 4, I realized it was similar and just cut differently. However, once I started running, I realized this shoe has excellent traction and you can immediately feel it. Also, I don't know about non-desert trails, but I was grateful for the added cushioning because there are only rocks and sand out here. If you want a genuine trail shoe that can hold up to a rocky, uneven terrain, this is it. I will add that I read a lot of these shoe reviews and people wear them to work instead of run with them and I am not sure if this is the shoe for that because of the design and Vibram traction would be overkill.

Tremendous shoe that has saved my running. Had numerous injuries with other shoes and none since running in these Hokas.

Love the speedgoat. Bought this particular model for the color. It looks more orange in the picture than it is - it's more pink than orange. Nevertheless, I like the color anyhow. Already love the shoe. Now to pick my next color.

Bought this for my husband who has taken up trail running. He usually wear size 9 in running shoes but had to go up to size 10 in the speedgoat 2. He sometimes wears a superfeet insole in most shoes but didn't need them in the Speedgoat 2. He did notice when running on paved roads the shoes seem louder than his other shoes when hitting the pavement. He loves them and will continue to buy the Speedgoats.

I run and hike on dirt and rocky mountain trails. My waterproof shoes (another brand) were so heavy, I decided to try these. Great traction! My feet do get cold after 45 minutes in the snow, but that's okay. I have wide feet from yoga, and these have plenty of room.

This is the only Hoka model I've found that still provides a pillow ride for narrow feet. I loved the challenger ATR 2 until they ruined it by lightening and cheapening it. This shoe is very comfortable but has a narrow flat toe box. Runs a 1/2 size small. Love this shoe!

Though I had to return 2 times to get the right shoe and then the correct size I'm finally in heaven. Doubtful that I will ever change brands after the great experience that I had. These are amazing! Thanks Hoka for great customer service

With only 5 miles of pre-hike break-in, to make sure I had the right shoes and sox, I used the Speedgoat 2 for a rim to rim Grand Canyon hike. That's 24 miles with 5,000- 6,000 feet of elevation gain and loss. I needed a shoe that was lightweight, superb traction and plenty of cushioning for the rocky canyon trail.
The Speedgoat 2's didn't disappoint me and I was surprised at how good my feet felt when I reached the end. I also have a pair of Tor Ultra Low's but they didn't have the ventilation and breathability of the Speedgoats.
I now have about 150 miles on them and they are showing some wear. The extremely abrasive rocky trails in southern Arizona are very hard on shoes. Last week I did a 12.5-mile hike that dropped 6,500 feet in elevation and there was about every type of steep and rocky condition you can imagine.
The Speedgoats have become my favorite hiking shoe for trails. They really do make a difference and leave my feet feeling great.

First of all, let me start by saying it was scary how much i trusted these shoes to grip. Took them white water rafting twice on my hike and once i took a spill in the nantahala and stood up in the current on the slippery rocks and literally walked to the side. I regularly had to remind myself slipping happens to people not wearing these. As for durability, After 7 weeks and 600 miles in the mountains, my pair had been thoroughly used. i have about 5 holes in them, one big enough to put my finger in, but they held up amazingly. A guy i walked with needed new shoes by damascus(altas) i could have gotten some but didnt f eel like it was necessary with 125 more miles left in my hike. I put these things through hell and they stayed wet for honestly 30% of my trip. One thing i will say is the rubber peice from the sole came unglued on the front of both super quick,(under 100 miles) and dragged for the rest of the way. The shoe is made well and is very comfortable, like more so than my nikes. I plan to buy 4 pair in the near future to use on my 2020 thru hike because i was so thoroughly impressed. These are killer shoes
