I am not a fan of the wider last on the Stinson. My old ones fit better. The cushion is still good but the fit is not right for me. Also the tongue seems oddly short. I will still use them but I wouldn't purchase another pair.

I love the Bondi 5 and have two pair of them,. All of these shoes are expensive. I have extensive hardware in my leg and pain in leg, ankle and foot. I need plush support. The Bondi 5 s fit perfectly, feel great. This shoe however, slips in the heel. Back they go.

I bought this Hoka One One Stinson ATR 4 to replace the Stinson ATR 3, which was a perfect fit and has been discontinued. The toe box is too big and there is something different with the heel area. I, too, have plantar fasciitis and the Stinson ATR 3 was great support, especially in the heel. This shoe (Stinson ATR 4) really causes pain in my heels. Will have to look for some other shoe.

I like a wide toe box but the toe of this shoe was almost clown like.

The shoe performance is spot on.
The colors makes me sad.
I went in to Fleet Feet the day before The Urban Cow with old torn running shoes- not my plan to run 13 in them so I took a chance on these shoes. These Stinson's came to me...a favorite album is Hoka by Nahko and a favorite beach is Stinson. There yeah go. Lol- the shoes I picked were the men's colors. They didn't have my size and brought these clown colored shoes out..."These are the women's shoe" the sales person said. It's just embarrassing.

I love the Stinson ATR3 Hokas that I currently own. I wanted to buy some hiking shoes and while I was ordering them, decided to see what the ATR4's were like. I do not like the wider toe bed. I have another new pair of ATR3's to wear before I really need new walking shoes and hope Hoka will produce another shoe like Stinson ATR3 before I have to have new shoes.

I wear these shoes EVERY day, working in the Athletic Dept. of a small liberal arts college. They are comfortable and attractive, but drive EVERYONE crazy because they squeak so badly. It's a squeak built into the sole of the construction. I sent the the last pair back because of the squeak but this new pair do the same thing. Sounds silly but it's loud and annoying.

I LOVED my Stinson 3 shoes.....the 4's are much wider and cushier. I need a shoe that prevents my toes from moving too much (a ligament problem) and this shoe is definitely not as good as the previous model which was recommended by my orthopedist. I have laced it as tight as I can with only a little puckering at the toe and replaced the insole with the one from my old pair. This allows me to walk about 4 miles without pain.

I had hoped to enjoy these shoes for off road trail walking. They are stiffer than I thought they would be. I have 2 pair of Bondi 5s and a pair of Arahi and was hoping for the same comfort with these shoes but they are lacking. The heel slips and they feel "clunky" when I walk. I'm keeping them in hopes I can walk enough to loosen them up but won't recommend this model to friends.

This shoe shifted my gait and created instability which caused an injury. I have other Hoka shoes that I love, but this one was not what was advertised or expected.

Was super excited to get this new iteration of the Stinson ATR... unfortunately it doesn't compare to last years version. Its VERY wide and the cushion is just not there. It's a cool looking shoe but just not what it used to be. After logging only 13.5 miles last week I started to feel a little plantar fasciitis. Really bummed, especially for the $$$.

Until this last change in to the Stinson 4, I loved these shoes. They literally gave me my life back. Superior cushioning allowed me back on my feet. These new ones are very wide, odd for me to say, since I have pretty wide feet, and do NOT have near the cushioning that made the Stinson 3 such an incredible shoe. Please Please Please give us back the Stinson 3.

I love Hoka One One more than ANY OTHER running shoe I've ever had, my husband & sons wear them and they really aren't runners but the comfort is incomparable to any other shoe out there BUT I miss the Stinson ATR 3, the last model this one isn't as supportive and cushioned and the heel is super wide. Please redesign this model ASAP!!

Please, please, please return to the thick cushioning that made me fall in the love with Hoka shoes from the beginning. Although this shoe is still a great shoe, it is nothing compared to the Stinson 3. It lacks the cushion and support that the 3 had. Also, the colors are not that attractive. Please, if it's not broken, don't fix it! Bring back the cushion!

I have the older version of the Hoka One One Stinson ATR. It was a wonderful shoe and I love it. I tried the Bondi but found that it didn't have as much arch support as the Stinson (for me) and ordered the Stinson 4. I am so disappointed -- I expected the love the Stinson 4 as much as the Stinson 3. I found that the I had the same problem as several other reviewers -- the toe box is too big. It made the fabric on top of my foot bend in such a way that it rubbed. I am disappointed because I love the cushioning and support of the Hokas. As always, I appreciate Zappos for allowing me to try shoes and return the ones that don't work out.

Loved my old Stinsons. These are very very wide in the toe box and I found them unstable for the forefoot. Like other shoe companies, as soon as I find a model that works for my foot issues they discontinue it.

It's frustrating that when I finally find a shoe that's perfect for me and I try to re-order, the style has been discontinued or significantly changed; and the new style doesn't work as well. I started with the Stinson Tarmac and loved them - recommended to everyone - was able to have about 5 pairs of those before the style was discontinued. They were really durable and comfortable. I bought the Stinson3 and was unhappy with the durability of the uppers. My toes on both feet wore holes in the fabric. This time, I exchanged an unworn Stinson3 for the Stinson4. It doesn't fit as well. The toe box is bigger and the fabric "wrinkles" on top. The eyelets don't seem as durable. The fabric is stiffer. The arch seems high and the heel is lower. The sole doesn't seem to have as much cushioning. I've only worn them for 3 hours since I walk an hour a day about 4 days a week. The jury is still out.

My first pair of Hoka's was the Stinson ATR3 and they changed my exercise life!! No more soreness in my ankles and knees. Extremely comfortable. So much so, that I wore them daily for 3 months. Thought I should get another pair so I bought these. They are comfortable, however, there is a bigger toe box which makes them a sloppier walk for me. They also feel stiffer than my Stinson 3 in both the upper material and the footbed. I won't return them because I need them but wish Hoka would incorporate some Stinson 3 in their next iteration of Stinson ATR...

These have a nice wide toe box, but they were too large in the heel area for my feet. The slippage in the heel made the back of my foot very sore. I was really hoping these would work since my feet seem to be very difficult to fit. Thanks to Zappos for being so gracious and allowing me to continue to try to find some kind of athletic shoe that will work with my horrible feet.

I had to return this shoe because it did not have enough room in the toe box. I am a size 6 and ordered a 6.5. The shoe was very tight on my foot, so much that I could barely tie it with a sock on. The material and design too seemed inflexible.

Ordered these on the maximum cushion they supposedly provide, but they turned out incredibly stiff in the sole. The first time I tried them, the soles of my feet hurt. After a couple of days I tried them again with thicker socks, this time the side of my left feet hurt, and the soles did not feel much better. Very disappointing.

glad zappos is easy to return, I was disappointed in these shoes. I love saucony shoes and these had no padding, I could feel the ridges in the bottom of the shoe when I walked. I returned them. the look really great but if there is no padding what good would they be. padding is the most important thing to me, as I have bad feet, and I always buy this brand, I hope they are not going down hill, coz I always count on saucony, and im so disappointed. I know I can always count on zappo to do easy returns. thanks zappo

I love the Stinson ATR 3; nothing can match its comfort, thickness/support, and stability. I am a daily 5-mile jogger in my 40's, and the Stinson ATR 3 were the only shoes which gave me enough shock absorption. My knees feel like they are going to crumble with any other shoes. I was really disappointed in the cushioning of the 4th iteration. They absolutely do not compare to the ATR 3. The cushioning is very average with nothing special. I am not sure what the company is trying to do, but I hope they know that there are very unhappy customers like me. You can remodel the shoes, but please do not take away the special shock absorbing feature of the sole. I hope you bring back the Stinson ATR 3 if you are unwilling to modify the shoes without taking away the special sole.

I've owned maybe 15 pairs of Hoka's and have loved them all -- except these. I like the wide toe box, but the heel is also very wide and does not hold my foot in no matter how tight I lace them. Also, they are very slippery out of the box on wet surfaces and especially on trails with fallen leaves.
