Overall a great purchase. Felt about a half size smaller than the Bondi 5’s.

First off, I am not a runner! My orthopedic doctor recommended Hoka to help with my metatarsal pain issue. I really like this shoe...it is comfortable, wide enough toe box so that my toes splayed nicely, didn't feel cramped, and felt as though I'm walking on pillows. My feet were happy overall. The downside is they hurt my calves when walking more than a quarter mile. No matter how much stretching I did, the calves just wouldn't loosen up and eventually my feet would go numb. I don't have this issue with any other shoe brands nor with the Clifton and Bondi that I tried. Also the left insole kept rubbing my left foot arch; right foot felt fine. I wore these shoes for nearly 3 weeks, trying to break them in but after calling Hoka Customer Service, I will be returning them and trying another Hoka style. I hate it too because I really liked these. I can't say enough good things about Hoka's helpful and patient customer service department.

I bought these and they are wonderful! They have just enough padding where they dont hurt my feet and my knees finally dont hurt for the first time after having a total knee replacement. They are a little heavier than i anticipated, however they are a trail shoe. I have had these a week now and have walked 15 miles in them. One thing to I would caution is this model does seem to run a half size big. Very pleased!!

I got these wonderful shoes because of the wide toe box and the trail description. They are wonderfully comfortable but the sole is not that great on gravel - I found myself slipping a lot. I love everything else about them.

Walking every day on treadmill and shoe is very comfortable. But, after a few days shoes became very sticky-no other tennis shoes do this. I've had husband and son run on the treadmill and no problem with their tennis either. For some reason the substance that the bottom of the shoe is made of becomes sticky from treadmill. I can't walk around my house in them because they stick to the carpet! Love the shoe, but this is frustrating.

I loved the Stinson Hoka One one I had before and another earlier Hoka trail running shoe I have worn out by overuse. I used the shoes running on trails and with cleats in the snow. They literally allowed me to run again after a severe injury. I was hoping this shoe would replace them. Upon initial wear the lacing is different so my right toe is rubbing against the upper lacing. I've tried wearing them to see if the fit would improve with wear, (4 mi 4x week) but it's still a tight fit across the lacing. Any recommendations for the same padding for mid distance running and occasional trail running? I have the speed Goat for trails but I honestly loved my old shoes and would like to replace them. I suppose I need a road running shoe with lots of cushion, yet the durability of a trail runner because many of our roads are closer to trails in construction than roads.

Very Comfortable! Awesome feeling on the trail!!! The only problem that the size feels a little wider & bigger (Thats why I gave just 4 starts) than the recovery shoe & road shoe I bought. But of course recommend HOKA! - They are the best & comfortable shoe I've ever had!

This brand was recommended to me by my Rheumatologist, as I have collapsed metatarsals and multiple problems with shoes which are too narrow. This shoe fits very well and leaves excellent room in the toe box, however I would add that it is just a bit short (1/2 inch) in the length and I would probably order a larger size-except for my concern the width would be too sloppy. The cushion feels wonderful underfoot, and I look forward to purchasing Hoka again in the future.

I have bad knees and am scheduled for a total knee replacement. These are the first shoes (I've bought 2 pairs) that really ease the pain.

Really happy with this update. A wider toe box, a stronger sole, and a reduction to 5mm stack - thank you!. This version is much more responsive on the trails yet the cushion is still there for the longer milage ultras. The sole can still use some stronger lugs so we can take these on the serious technical trail runs, but overall a great update.

Seems like a great shoe but they've widened the toe box so much even I, who need a wide toe box, found I didn't have enough stability in the forefoot. The turquoise can be seen from space, which is fun.

After injuring my foot during training I needed a wide toe box and a firm base that does not bend much. Took a while to get used to these but now it's all my sore foot is able to walk in. Thank you!!

The upper is very comfortable and the toe is not tapered allowing for normal toe position. ( An idea other running shoes have adopted) which helps my hallux joint and mildly wide forefoot. However the bottom was too spongy soft for me as I also have some ankle instability. For me the perfect shoe would be this upper with the bondi bottom.. Hope Hoka makes more shoes with a non tapered toe. The current Bondi has a very stiff tongue that hurt my ankle and the toe is slightly tapered despite being wide.

I had the Bondi 3 and fell in love with Hoka one one after I bought this shoe. After suffering from shin splints and constantly trying new shoes, I had found my dream shoe!! After wearing them out I went to buy another pair, well the Bondi 4 & 5 just don't do it for me, they do not fit just like the Bondi 3 did. So I have been trying different Hoka one one's to see if I can find ones that I love as much as my Bondi 3... These are very close, but not quit the same. I love the look and the fit but they are missing something... It may be me and my hard to fit feet. I am still a huge Hoka fan and will keep running in them! But miss that perfect shoe

I LOVE my Hoka One One Stinsons! True to size, no blisters, love the high toe box (re: no blisters!) and the cushioning. Great help protecting my lumbar area as I walk. Only complaint is while the ATR version is called a trail shoe...ruined a brand new pair of Hoka Stinson ATR in a 6 hour hike in Rocky Mountains. Trail was sand and some rock, high elevation but no scrambling. Walked through beautiful flowers and meadow. Tore off all the raised areas on both soles completely at heels. Definitely NOT a trail shoe unless your "trails" are groomed paths somewhere. Still love the shoes, just will go back to my hiking boots (another brand) when on the trails out here.

Stinson ATR 4 is super comfy. I wore this shoe during my vacay and glad I did. Feels like walking on clouds. The only negative thing about this shoe is the sole doesn't appear to be anti-slippery.

I am a 76 year old who has been wearing Hoka's for several years now and had settled on the Clifton, but last time I ordered new ones they felt tight and I returned them and decided to try the Stinson. They are comfortable, but really not attractive. They are much wider thru the toe box, which I figured would help my aching feet and that is true, but the appearance is a drawback. I had gotten used to the look of Hoka's, which are definitely not streamlined, but when you have aching feet you can live with that. Until the shoes start squeaking, constantly. I have no idea why. I have worn them mostly everyday (I like to walk) and they are fine for walking where I don't care how my feet look or as long as there are lots of sounds going around the immediate environment, but walking in the house or in the gym is another thing altogether. Don't even think about going to the movie theatre! I have hinted at my feet problems, which are numerous, and these work, but not I am not sure they are worth the sacrifice. I have osteoarthritis in my feet. I have had an ankle replacement and two new knees, so I am limited on my choices, but think I will go back to the Clifton for public use. I wanted to give you more perspective on my walking pattern. I do like to walk, but I am not an extreme walker. Due to my joint issues I usually stay under 3 miles a day for comfort.

As much as I get excited about a new pair I had to return this pair . They were too tight across the top of my foot by the toes. I love all my other Hokas. This would of been my second pair of Stinson. I'll keep trying. Im a walking advertisement for Hoka. I used to stand long hrs on my feet in the operating room. My Hokas never let me down.

I really wanted to love my new Stinsons. I’ve been running in old pair of Stinsons for way too long. These shoes are wide as others have said. They also made my toes numb as other have said. I had to loosen the laces way too stop the numbing. The cushion was great for me and at first I thought I liked them, but after a run my right foot hurt. It will hurt if I wear shoes that are to flexible or loose. It never hurts in my old Hokas. So, I Will continues to wear my old Hokas until they come out with Stinsons 5 sometime next year.

I agree with other customers comments on this shoe. For one, it rocks backward somewhat (heel is lower than forefoot). Two, it is not as cushy as one would think. There is cushion in forefoot, but not arch and heel. Makes for a much harder strike then I want. Three, my heel slips a little in this shoe for whatever reason. And four, which I don't think I saw comments on, the black decor strip going for tip of toe up through the tongue curls right in the middle and strikes the top of the toes when walking and running. It's not a game changer, but with all the other dislikes, it just adds to not keeping these shoes. I am going back to the Speedgoat. Thought I would try something different from Hoka One One. I think this shoe could be great with a few minor changes.

I loved how cushy these shoes were and it was just what I was looking for. However, along the arch and heel it was just a bit too narrow and the toe box was too wide. I also ordered the Hoka One One Arahi 2 and it wasn't as wide in the toe box and the width thru arch and heel was good. i think this shoe might have been a bit more cushy than the Arahi 2 but the Arahi 2 is still comfy too.

I ordered these quickly based on the fit of my previous Stinson style. Only after I questioned my imagination that this shoe was wider than my last Hoko One One Stinson did I realize from reviewers that the cut had changed. The shoe is very comfortable but the wide toe box is a bit distracting and odd looking. But comfort rules here, so these are shoes I intend to keep. I do, nevertheless, prefer the previous (#3) version and hope it comes back on the market.
