i Tend to be a huge fan of Timbuk2 's messenger bags. While recovering from rotator cuff surgery I needed something different for work. I thought I would try this back pack. It is awesome and meets all my expectations and needs. Plenty of room for files, my iPad, sunglasses, water bottle and other stuff. I think I might like it more than my messenger bag. Rey compact and holds a lot of stuff!

Title says it all: this really is the best laptop backpack I've ever owned. The laptop compartment is roomy, and fits both my 13" MacBook but I regularly stick an iPad in there too, without any issues. The compartment next to that is enormous and hides a multitude of pack-rat sins: I put my Bose headphones (and case!), a large Shinola notebook, mail I need to sort (seriously), glasses, and various small organizer bags (tech gear, personal care, etc.), all in there without problem. The compartment next to that is the one with all the small organizational pockets. Everything has its place: stamps in this one, lip balm and hand sanitizer in that one, and all the pens I'll ever need in this one. It's crazy. And then there are the two small exterior pockets: the one on top is easy access and that's where my keys and my wallet go, and the one below that is larger and is a great place to stash my phone and my AirPods case. Add to that the perfectly-sized water bottle holder and you've got an ideal bag. Okay, so that's me raving about how much stuff I can stash in this bag, but the best part of the bag is that it sits SO COMFORTABLY on my back that I never feel like I'm carrying that much stuff. It's insane. Fully loaded up, this bag fits under an airplane seat without any issue. It's a great travel backpack as well as an everyday work bag.

I have a 17.3 in laptop and it fits perfectly in the backpack. It also very comfy!

I ordered three backpacks, hoping that one would work. Ultimately, I chose this one because it's comfortable (on my back which usually gives me problems), it's stylish, and has plenty compartments that are a perfect balance of more than enough and just enough.

Love the quality and style of this backpack. The most compact and stylish option I could find for a 17" laptop. Very happy with my purchase.

I love this bag. Has all sorts of compartments and places to hold my things. Not sure what these other reviewers are trying to stuff into their bags, but it holds my 14" work laptop, a book, various papers, pens, gum, etc... with no problem. Also, I love how well padded it is and that there is a separate space for my iPad. I use the bag for work, but look forward to taking all that junk out and traveling with it for leisure because I know it will hold and protect my tech and my prized MacBook Pro.

As someone commuting from home to classes in the city, this bag has been great with carrying the everyday necessities as well as being very comfortable.

I teach and I use this bag every day. It's easy to compartmentalize all my belongings. My laptop fits comfortably in one zipper compartment. This compartment was made to keep the laptop safe. I put my books in another zipper compartment. I don't even bother carrying a purse anymore because I put my wallet, phone, medicine, etc. in another compartment.There is a lot of space, and this bag never feels bulky no matter how much I put it in. Now my husband wants one too!

I purchased this backpack mainly for work with the occasional usage during travel. I've been using it for work for a couple weeks and just used it for a short weekend getaway trip and it's been extremely helpful. I like having all the different compartments to store everything from my Bose headphones and Nintendo Switch, to a power bank and phone charger. The water bottle holder on the outside is great for my 24 oz Hydro Flask, but that's the biggest size it can hold and even then it's a bit snug. It's comfortable and well padded so I highly recommend it.

I'd been searching for a work backpack and a colleague suggested I check out Timbuk2. The Authority Laptop Backpack is exactly what I was looking for (plus, matched the product description 100%). And I would be remiss not to mention that Timbuk2's customer service is outstanding. I have no doubt I'll be a lifetime customer and look forward to using Timbuk2 products for many years (plus, I've been recommending Timbuk2 to my family and friends)!

Love this brand. Got my first one in 2005 and still love it. Had to switch from a briefcase style to a backpack and could not have made a better choice. I especially like the fact that I can get to my laptop ithout having to open the whole bag. Great work guys!

I walk an hour to work, and sometimes I'm carrying my laptop. I also carry gym clothing, the usual stuff people carry, and sometimes food. This is extremely efficient for all these items. It's got a place for everything. And the padding along the back means it doesn't matter if the stuff in the back is lumpy. It's SO comfortable, even packed to the gills. Someone else said the outer pocket isn't on the correct side for right- handed people. I'm left handed. YAY!! Finally, we count. :-) It's also a very professional looking backpack. I'd feel fine carrying it to a meeting or presentation. It doesn't look like camping gear. Thumbs way up.

I bought this backpack about a year ago as I headed into nursing school. One year later and it's my lifeline. Not only do I need to carry items for clinicals (a hard case containing my stethescope, pen light, notebook etc...) I also need my ipad AND my laptop, and I also frequently go back and forth between my house and my boyfriend's house. Add to all this, at clinical we are encouraged to bring as few items to store as possible, and I'm asking a lot of this bag. But this bag lives up to all my expectations and keeps me organized while looking great and being incredible streamlined/narrow and taking up less space than other backpacks in a storage area. I'm typically able to pack in it for 1-2 nights, plus laptop, ipad, and school gear. It's a year old and barely shows any wear, except for the buckles and reflective stuff on the bottom, which are a bit scratched up. It's also kept my stuff safe and dry in the rain. I'm mostly worried about this puppy ever being discontinued! Tempted to get a second one to squirrel away just in case.

This pack is very well suited for everyday use. Love the padded laptop sleeve and I utilize the other two large pockets to house charging cables, computer accessories, as well as my lunch/coffee.

I have used a particular brand of laptop backpack for business travel for about 15 years, but have not been pleased with the last two bags. I did some research and decided to try the Timbuk2. I was concerned it wouldn't be big enough for all the stuff I like to tote around, but it more than fit the bill. It's sleek and comfortable and I love it.

An extremely versatile backpack. Plays the role well at the office, and revels in weekend getaways. A well thought out backpack. Not originally what I would've bought myself, but generously received as a gift and considering someone to generously give as a thoughtful gift.

I needed a bag to carry things to work. I ride my bike to work during the warmer months. This bag can support a change of clothes and a laptop. It's light and comfortable. Add the made in the USA factor and you have a bag that Im happy with and would buy again in the future.

I'm kind of a bag freak. I've been looking for the perfect bag for anything I throw at it. I found it... With one tiny gripe, the should straps I feel could be just a bit longer. When the straps are fully extended the top of the bag sits away from your back while the bottom of the bag sits flush. It's not uncomfortable but wish they were a little bit longer. Other than that it's literally my favorite backpack... Probably ever.

Absolutely love this bag. Great quick access organization in front pocket. Only drawback is large pocket can get overly crowded when full.

I bought this as an upgrade from my previous Timbuk2 backpack. I commute by train from the Chicago suburbs to the Loop every day and carry my laptop, a few personal items, a ton of beverages, and sometimes lunch or other incidentals. Timbuk2 packs are well organized and deter me from turning my work backpack into another disorganized mess like all of my purses, while still having enough room to carry everything I need on a daily basis. This pack is lightweight and comfortable. As always, thank you for another well-constructed bag; I'm a lifetime customer.

As advertised, fits a 15 inch laptop, notebook, charger and mouse. Holds two batteries and room for snacks. Great daily commute bag.
