These boots are beautiful and they fell in my top three favorites! I loved everything about them they were stylish, warm, and comfy. The problem was the arch support and the cushion of the foot bed, there wasn’t enough of either. I was in search of a comfortable walking snow boot and in the end, these just didn’t work out for me so back they went.

I loved the way these boots looked in the picture, but in person, I didn't like the style very much - they felt and looked a little too synthetic and plastic-y. They fit well and were comfortable, and I'm sure they'd be warm and functional. They just weren't my cup of tea.

My feet get cold easily and stay cold for a long time, so I was looking for a boot that would help keep them warmer in frigid Minnesota winter weather and also keep the snow out. These are great! They've kept my feet dry walking through snow and provide good traction on packed snow and ice. My feet stay warm in these boots into the teens, and in recent subzero temperatures (in Fahrenheit) my toes have been cold but not numb and quickly warmed up when I wore the boots indoors. My main concern was that these would be difficult to drive in, especially with a clutch, but it hasn't been an issue. These boots fit true to size, I wear my usual sock, not a thick one, and walked several blocks in the snow right after purchasing them and they were quite comfortable. No rubbing, no sore spots, okay arch support.

I just received these boots and I love them. I haven't yet worn them in snow, but the faux fur lining makes them extremely warm and comfortable. I usually wear a size 10 in shoes, but I ordered an 11 in these and I'm glad I did. That leaves me room to wear thick socks. I also really like the lace-up feature because I have wide calves and these can be adjusted easily. They're very stylish, too. They look great with leggings. Though I haven't worn these out and about all day yet, I think they're going to be very comfortable for traveling and walking a lot.

Boots are really nice and keep me warm. But when I walk, boy do they squeak!

These winter boots are actually stylish and appear to be super weather resistant too! The shaft is fairly narrow, but is easily adjustable with the laces. There's no mistaking that they are heavy winter boots, but I would feel comfortable wearing them with a skirt at work.

I got a 1/2 size up in order to wear these with thicker socks. I so badly wanted these to feel good, especially because I own the shorter Shellista II Mid (which fit perfectly, but the right boot squeaks when I walk) but the back of the boot cut into the lower part of my calf when I tried them on and walked in my house. They are so cute though. If you have thicker calves, these are the boots for you!

I ordered these boots along with another pair of Sorel's to compare. Love the look of these boots, but when I opened them parts looked olive green instead of black :/ I ordered a size up like I did the Sorel's, but these didn't need it, so they were too large. Very comfortable though! And the laces help if you have wider calves.

These boots are amazing! Needed something to wear while walking the dogs and something to get me to and from work in the snow. The boots I had been wearing had virtually no ankle support so I was looking for something that would give me more stability. The Shellista III Tall is the perfect find. There's extra padding around the ankle that provides the stability I need, and because these boots lace up, I am able to get even more support by pulling the laces tight. Ideally, I wanted the ease of a pull on boot, but there's no way they would have been as supportive. These boots have kept my feet warm and dry through a few snowfalls and they were much more stylish than I anticipated. Definitely a great choice for what I needed!

I love my new winter boots. I spent a lot of time considering my options before I finally chose this boot. One of the main considerations is a boot that can withstand all the salt of city streets. The molded foot is perfect and has excellent traction. The rest of the elements keep my legs stylishly warm. The 7 1/2 which is my usual size fit perfectly with room to spare if I want to wear a pair of thicker socks. There is even nice arch support.

They look and feel fantastic. Based on other reviews, I ordered a half size up and they fit perfectly. They keep my feet and legs warm and dry and stay comfortable even while walking a mile a day to and from work.

I wear a solid size 8, but these were too snug. My toes were pressing against the front of the boot. I ordered a 8.5 and it will work great as a winter boot with a regular to thicker sock. Overall I think it is a really beautiful boot, very well made! The laces are ridiculously long though, I have to tie them once and then wrap them around my calf before I tie them off. I would recommend the laces be shorter or you have very long laces dangling and it looks funny. I think the height of these boots is very good - but I would not mind them to be an inch higher like other tall boots that I have.

Boot runs small. I’ve alwsys worn an 8 but had to return and get an 8.5, especially to wear socks.

Comfy ! Normally wear 9 or 9.5 ordered 10 to wear with thicker socks and it fits perfect !

Bought the lighter style of this boot on sale and chose the tan color because I may as well extract some style from a foul weather boot. I took the advice of previous reviews and half sized up from a size 9 to9 1/2 the boot fits well: With socks or stockings leaving work. I have a pair of Sorel Joan of Arctics to compare the cushioning to the Shalista III and the Shalista are better cushioned and lined. I put my bare foot into the Shalista...impossible with Sorel Joan of Arctic. I have muscular calves and this boot (because of the shoe ties) adjusted to the shape of my leg like no other tall boot I’ve tried on.

Love this boot! Fun and casually stylish. Super warm and great for waking around in the snow and snow melt. Jeans can be worn under the boots because of the lace-up front.

On "Felt true to size," I am a women's size 9, which is what I ordered. It fit perfect, as in - if I lived in a mild climate. But I live in Montana and we have very cold winters! I knew I needed that extra space around my foot for the insulating air space. I returned the size 9 and ordered a size 10. I have worn a size 10 Sorel for years and knew how well my feet stayed warm with that extra air space. I don't have any trouble tripping or anything like that with the oversized shoe. I LOVE these boots. Warm, comfortable, and fashionable in this climate. I recommend ordering a full size larger if you live in a cold climate (We just went through a week of negative temps and my feet stayed warm. Granted I wasn't standing outside in them all day but for just wearing around, they're great). I consider myself to have a moderate foot width and the width is great for me. As for the traction, I was also worried about this as I just had ACL surgery. The traction isn't as good as my Sorel Caribou boots, but I have to say I haven't had any major slips in the first week on some seriously icy and uneven terrain. That said, I'm also being very careful.

These were very warm but they were too tall for me. I returned them, it was hard to drive with them on. If they had not been so tall I would have liked them better.

I love these boots. Zappos needs to have an option to go all the way up to 11. I received them yesterday. I wasn’t 100% sure I’d keep them because they were lace ups with no side zipper. But they were so cozy when I put them on my feet. I wore them around the house and just loved how they felt. Today I made a trip to NYC. I wore the boots. I walked around the city for hours. It started snowing as soon as I arrived. My toes stayed toasty warm all day (I always have cold toes). My feet/ankles/legs were comfortable throughout the day. The only drawback I noticed is the soles could be a tad more grippy. These boots have that rubber shoe look at the base and don’t have good lugs that grip as well as they could as you walk. Last point: I tend not to like lace ups because they always gap/bulge and are too wide at my ankles. These boots do that somewhat as well. Please TNF, if you’re reading this make other versions of this style of boot. The 3D squares at the top of the boot are amazing. The different cuts & color of fabric along the shaft are beautiful. I’d like a slightly dressier tall version without the rubber shoe look and no laces to wear in a wider variety of occasions. And an ankle boot as well.

This is a smart looking boot and would be good for anyone spending time in the snow. Because I am small built, it looked bulky on me, and because I don't spend that much time in the snow, I returned it. It's a nice warm boot for the right person. I'm usually a 7 but I got 71/2 because 7 wasn't available; the 71/2 was okay for me because it had room for thick socks.

This boot is very attractive and tall (which was my biggest issue, to follow my toddler through fresh snow and keep my feet dry). The Columbia Minx Mid III and Minx Mid III Santa Fe (each of which I ordered in an entire size up) were shorter but more comfortable. This North Face boot has the rubber bottom section like a classic LL Bean boot (which I've never had or gotten used to and I'm also not used to wearing rain boots), so there's a stiffness particularly around the ankle which I'll have to get used to. I'm not going to wear them around town just randomly, but think of them more as attractive rain boots on top of being effective snow boots.

I love the way these look, and I think they'll be very warm once it gets cold here in Wisconsin. My only complaint is that the padding around the heel, which I think is supposed to prevent rubbing and provide cushion, is actually quite annoying and results in more rubbing since it's positioned on both sides and kind of "squeezes" the back of my ankles. But I think that will get better once I break them in.

The boot is very stylish . The only problem I have is the arch support seem a little high which caused cramping in my foot but it's not so bad where I would say don't buy them . On the contrary the boot is very comfortable, and will keep your feet and calves warm . I usually wear a 8.5 but I bought a 9.5 and it fit as if it was the 8.5 .

I gave these boots a chance even though there were complaints about the inside rubbing around the back/bottom portion of people’s calves...should have listened. I had to return them for this exact issue.

The color was not what I expected. The black was more of a olive greenish color. Also, when I first wore these, the bottom part of the boot cut into the back of my calf when I walked. I had to loosen the laces and that seemed to fix the problem. I have a 20 min commute and they have kept me warm and dry in the Chicago weather. Overall, they are ok.
