Honestly, these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I don't know if it's because I tried a wide width shoe for the first time, but I ended up buying a whole shoe size smaller than what I normally wear. The arch support (I think that is what people are referring to when they talk about it feeling like you're walking on rocks) is excellent, but if you're not used to having actual arch support in a shoe, it can be a bit overwhelming (in a not very fun sort of way) at first but eventually goes away. I buy shoes with the idea that they will be worn as an everyday, walking around shoe (helps keep osteoarthritis in my ankle from flaring up) along with hiking on the weekends. These definitely haven't disappointed me.

True to width may mean wide for some folks. Lots of shoes squish my toes but these are nice, plenty of foot room up there. They are really light, not the heavy logs that hiking boots can sometimes be. Pretty comfortable, all-around kick-around shoes for everything. Awesome.

Nice shoe

Two weeks of daily wear, and I like these shoes. I initially ordered the same shoe in waterproof, but sent it back because it was very noisy and crunchy. These are pretty quiet and very comfortable. I think I like the Vibram sole on the Moab Ventilators better. We'll see how well this sole holds up. These were significantly less expensive than the Moab Ventilators or Moab Waterproof which has been my last two pairs of shoes, so I will check back in a few months to let you how how they are holding up compared to the Moabs, which were quite robust for a long time.

This is my second pair; I bought a pair this winter in Florida. Great shoes, lightweight with good support and especially comfortable for off-pavement wear. Great light hiking shoes

Excellent! The shoes fit so well and are so comfortable and nice looking. I have had other Merrell shoes and as far as I am concerned Merrell is an exceptional brand :)

Nice shoe, but "Wide" was not wide enough for me, so returned.

Like others have stated this is a Very comfortable shoe right out of the box! I use them to play Disc Golf & the grip on concrete is very good. I really love the tread pattern on the soles as it doesn’t get clogged-up with mud like on my other Merrells. 5*****

I really liked this shoe. It had one issue that made me send it back. It felt like a rock in both shoes right behind the ball of the foot which gave me a bruise for 1/2 hour try. I really liked everything else about this shoe.

Not a bad shoe. The OEM-provided insole felt "lumpy" and uncomfortable. I replaced the original insoles with "Superfeet" insoles and the footbed was much more comfortable.

Sadly I have to agree that the shoe feels like you're walking on hard lumps. Maybe this is only for big people - I'm 250lbs. Even tried with an orthotic insert, but still lumpy... Otherwise well made and good value. I imagine it must work well for lighter people given the good reviews.

I have been very satisfied with Merrells in the past. Unfortunately, these are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever tried on. It's like they weren't designed for human feet. Suppose the huge hard lump on the inside (arch side) of the shoe is for arch support, but they crippled me on my trial stroll across my living room. Sorry Merrell, but what happened to your comfy shoes?? Otherwise seem well made and good looking, but I don't buy shoes to look at.

I have never felt a more weird fit in a shoe. Even with 2 arch supports in each shoe I still feel like the sole is canted towards my arches. Very strange. I think if I wear these very much i will become knock kneed. I have worn nothing but Merrells for over 15 years but these are just plain strange. Other than that they should be great shoes, ha.

On the 5th wearing, a lace loop popped loose, making the shoes unwearable. Zappos has excellent services however, and refunded/exchanged them. I'm hoping I just got a bad pair, and the replacements will do better. I LOVED the shoes until the mishap. Excellent fit, great arch support, comfortable. I'm hoping this pair just had a bad seam in it. My previous Merrell Moab shoes have lasted 5 years and are still great.

I have high arches and these hiking shoes feel amazing! I'm a woman who wears a size 11 with a "wideish" foot. I have found that men's tennis shoes and boots fit me better because the width on a men's medium fits perfectly. These boots are quite flexible and very light weight and will be great for summer hiking. My foot feels very supported and stable in these shoes.

Great hiking shoes. I bought this pair for my trip to Zion National Park with family. I normally wear 8.5W, but I ended up with 8W so it’s about a half size bigger than normal. It has great fit and would buy it again.

My son loves the shoes. Every times he wears a pair out he wants this exact shoe.

I sing remember the last time I got excited about shoes but I am very happy with this pair. I'm a size 12 in sneakers and similar style shoes and this fit perfectly. I have flat feet and I really feel the arch support in this pair. Very comfortable, looks good, high quality.

These are true to size, with ample room in the toe box, with kind of high of arch support. I chose "Moderate arch support" from the drop down box because it was either that or "Excellent support", and that's subjective to the wearer. So, again I feel the arch in the shoe to be slightly high. My feet are fine with it, but these shoes probably wouldn't work too well for someone with very flat feet. I can not at this time attest to their durability because I've not had them long enough, but they do seem well constructed. Hope this is helpful to someone.

I bought these for my husband, who has ankle issues from childhood surgery and is extremely difficult to satisfy with comfort, price and quality. He took them out of the box and has worn them at every opportunity. He says they are the most comfortable shoes he’s ever worn. He plans to wear them hiking and to the gym.

Can't go wrong with Merrell's. Best shoe around. Exactly like picture and a great price. Shipped on time. Can't be happier

Bought these for my husband, he loves them for work shoes.

I’ve tried Keen and now I want to try Merrell, I used these shoes for a weekend of hiking around Joshua Tree NP and I was more than pleased with their performance. So far for an expensive hiking shoe I’m more than happy with it.

Very comfortable, ventilated, received today, will order a 2nd pair. People have commented on the arch support. It is a little more than most shoes, but not at all bothersome.

Great fit even with my longer (C) narrow foot size. Nice hiker kicks for the price.
