Sadness. I have the Sorel Mother Boot (I can't recall the style but I can't find it anywhere) in brown and was hoping this would do the trick in black. Sadly, I was a Cinderella's awful step-sister trying to jam my foot into a boot that wanted nothing to do with me. It was the same size as the Mother Boot so it isn't that. The Mother Boot doesn't have a zipper either but seems to have a more supple leather upper (it folds over). It made me sad to send them back and no, I won't be trying another. I will keep searching for the Mother Boot in Black though I think that ship has departed. Sigh...

The buckle on the back was broken when I opened the box. Super bummed.

I had to return these because even though I could slide my feet in without a zipper, the calf width was not wide enough (even on the widest setting). My calves fit fine in other brands (e.g., Canadiene, Ariat) even my larger one. Probably as a result of the poor calf fit, the ankle area looked sloppy.

I’ve tried numerous times to wear these boots but their impossible to get on.

I love the look of these boots! The leather is nice and I like the shape of the boot. I would have kept them except I couldn't get my foot past the ankle of the boot. They really need a zipper. I could also tell that the calf was going to be narrow. Sadly, I had to send them back.

Exactly what other reviewers said, could hardly get my foot in this boot and I even ordered a half size up. I have many riding style boots without zippers and understand you need to use boot straps, etc. This boot just doesn't make any sense. I am surprised Sorel has put it out. Sad, it's a cute boot. Just unbearable to wear.

Yep, just as all the other reviewers said; impossible to get your foot in and once your foot was in, impossible to get it out. Had to get husband to pull the boot off. Were a bit on the narrow side, but they would have worked. Please remake these and include a zipper!!

I can't believe Sorel even put these shoes into production... I own a brown pair from the prior year and LOVE them. I can't get these shoes on my feet - it's bananas, crazy frustrating.

Such a beautiful boot but I could not put my foot in it!! Im a size 6 and I ordered a 7 because of previous reviews. Not even that helped. I tried everything to get my foot in!! Im so sad but these are going back. Sorel should improve the design.

I was so excited to receive this boot! I wear size 8.5 and I could not even get my foot through the top of the shoe :( :( :( it might have been helpful if there was a zipper. I had to send em back. I will try looking for a similar style Sorel.

These boots were so cute and I was so excited to get them! I read them other reviews of people warning that they ran way too small but I always think “well that won’t happen to me.” I got my boots yesterday and I tried and tried to get my foot in them but they are way too small. I am 5’4”, 138 lbs, and not athletic so I don’t have monstrous calf muscles. I normally wear an 8 and that is the size I ordered. I couldn’t even get my foot down in them. It’s like there’s not enough room at the heel of the boot to pivot your toes to finish sliding into the front of the boot when you try to put them on. You just can’t insert your foot past the heel of the boot - there’s no way. I don’t know how anyone gets their foot into this boot. The proportion of the opening to a real persons foot is poorly designed. Don’t bother wasting your time and money.
