Im not entirely sure how I feel about my new boots. I like the look of them, but they fit oddly; they feel a bit too big/too long. My feet move around in them when I walk. And they rub a bit on on the side of my foot. Now, Im not used to wearing boots, I admit, so maybe I just have to get used to them, but Im sort of frustrated because I wanted them to become my go-to footwearbut so far, no luck.

They sent me classic black boots with a couple of scuffs and passed it off at antique black.

The boots are very stylish looking with the roughness look of leather.. so far they seem very comfortable. They definitely run big, which I was aware of so I purchased a 9.5 vs a 10.5. So far so good!

These should be called zip ups... My 3rd pair... 1 day break in and they become the softest most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Cognac color is beautiful. After a year, the leather is all I smell when I slide them off at the end of the day. I hope Frye never removes this boot from their store because I'm coming back for them for the rest of my life. Size is true.

Great looking boot, however the zippers are cheaply made. Zippers came off both of my boots and when I contacted customer support I was basically told to go find a cobbler (Is this the 1500s or something?). Horrible customer service, will be going elsewhere for boots.

On May 11th, 2023, I purchased a pair of black Bowery Lace Up boots from The Frye Company. When I received the boots, I made sure they fit and then stored them in my closet during the warm summer months. These past few weeks (15OCT-7NOV), I began wearing the boots and within three weeks, major defects in the boots began to show: the leather heal is delaminating and the dye of the interior lining has begun to run onto the black leather tongues. I presented The Frye Company with photos of my complaints, including the tread to show that the boots had not been worn long. The emailed response from the company was "Based on what we can see, it seems like there is a clear issue with the quality of the boots." However, since I was outside the exchange window, they would not fully refund nor exchange. They offered a $89.50 refund, or 25% of the cost of the boots. These are very high-priced boots that the company admits are low quality, yet they are unwilling to stand behind their product and provide the proper merchandise their customer paid for. I did not buy the wrong size or wrong color, but rather received a defective product that was realized six months later. No new pair of boots should need to be resoled, even if I had worn them the entire six months.

I love my 2 pairs of Bowery boots, a pair of chukkas, and a pair of Frye hikers--they've all taken me many many miles over many years. The style, quality, and fit are excellent. I'm deducting 3 stars though because Frye has not had size 7.5 available in far too long, and I've been wanting to purchase another pair of Bowery lace-ups in jet black for a long time. I can't find them here or at any of the other retailers (Nordstrom, Dillard's, Neiman Marcus, etc.) that carry Frye. Did they stop making sizes for anyone less than size 8? I've even explored other Frye boot styles, and I can't find any availability in my size. I'm going to have to explore switching to another brands after a decade of Frye. :(

Bought the bowery lace up, which is on sale. Sales are nice but i just wanted this boot. frye doesnt have an inches/centimeter size chart so i ordered my usual size. Long story short, these run big and frye wont exchange for a 1/2 size down. I offered to pay shipping, and even though both sizes are in stock, dude on the phone just kept saying its against policy. It just makes no sense to me. I get all sales are final but i dont want a refund. Unless youre 1,000% sure of what you want, and the fit, dont chance it.

Great look, comfortable right out of the box. Stylish look, exactly what I was hoping for! I wear size 13 and they fit perfectly.

This is my 2nd pair of boots, these boots Bowery boots, these fit right out the box, styling and comfort are spot on, these will be my go to boots for work and play, they go well with my leather jacket, and jeans.

Fit is large. Please size down by 1/2 size if you want to be happy with your purchase Quality is good and style is beautiful.

I recently purchased a vintaged brown leather motorcycle jacket, these boots complement it perfectly.

The color is a dark, distressed brown rather than a true 'black'. I'm a size 9.5 in dress/running shoes and a 9 fit just right width-wise, with a bit of room leftover in the toe box. Comfortable once broken in, and have a quality zipper. Deducted a star for minor chipping along the bottom edges of the sole when brand new.

Every brand I am around a 10.5. I read the reviews here and decided to round down to be safe. They are still very long in the toe box so I am going to exchange them for a full size down at 9.5. The color does have hints of brown, but I was expecting that. Do not get if you want a true black boot.
