I've been needing a warm winter coat for a while. Several 0 degree days this year convinced me to buy it and I've been extremely happy with this. It's warm and comfortable- good in the windy, below 0 days in Chicago. Buy it!

I brought this as a gift for my husband and he loves it. He 5'3" tall , 120 lbs. The xs size very prefect for him. It fits perfectly with room for a sweater underneath, it was very comfortable and warm. And also the jacket was effectively waterproof. My husband very happy this jacket and loves it. Thank you The North Face .

Imagine a blanket that you can wear while driving or while rolling around in the snow. And envision this blanket being waterproof and as warm as bear fur. Got that visual? Good. Because that's this coat and I love it. Moved from Houston to Cleveland and my wife bought this for me as a gift. Best idea she's had in a long time. (Honey--I am joking!). My wife is modeling the coat for me. I'm 6'5 and not as photogenic as she is.

I use the jacket for commuting to work and when I go out on the weekends. The fit is just as expected and it is extremely warm even in the coldest of temperatures. Great overall jacket and I love the simplicity of its look.

Very warm. Quality is very good. It stands up well to other brands that are significantly more expensive.

I live in Chicago, and work downtown Chicago a few block away from lake Michigan, when the polar vortex and the wind starts whipping off the lake it can be extremely almost unbearable sub artic temperature's. I have six different style north face coats to include a tri-climate jacket. Nothing I own compares to this coat for protection and warmth. The only thing I wish The North Face would get right, is change the zippers to work right. They function but not like I would like. Great coat feel like I am on an adventure every time I wear it!!!!! Think I might survive Chiberia's winter this year.

I live in Northern Michigan. It gets very cold and wet due to heavy snow. This jacket is warm. You don't have to go buy a canada goose. I was thinking about getting canada goose but I'm glad I bought this one instead and pocketed lots of money. For the price, you can barely find other jackets that are as warm and stylish. The fur on the jacket adds style to this jacket. The fur also acts as windshield when you pull it out when you are wearing the hood. People say I look warm and I take that as a compliment. It is also water proof which is never a bad thing. I have a greenish color which doesn't look tacky but rather looks mature. One bad thing I can think of is the inner pocket zipper: they don't work too well but it works so that's that. I sound like I'm hired by the north face to write this review but well I'm just a satisfies customer.

I moved to New York this year so I knew from the beginning that I needed to buy a good parka for a -much- colder winter than I'm used to (I'm from Santiago, Chile where the temperature rarely goes below zero degrees Celsius). It's not winter yet, but I've used a couple of times my new TNF parka and I love it. Great for cold weather and it also looks very good with casual clothes. I'll be using this item a lot this season.

I own two of these parkas...one of which I purchased while expecting (almost 14 years ago), and it still looks daggone good (I have only had to have TNF replace the faux fur around hood and stitch one of the inner pockets). Now, I have passed my love of this parka on to my son; his first one has taken him through three seasons and he will be getting a second one after the holidays (during one of your salesite ; ) ). My husband doesn't like parkas...otherwise, I'd stuff him into one too.

This is an excellent jacket, great for handling extreme cold in Chicago. It's costly but it's worth paying extra bucks. I like the deep pockets in which one can put gloves, ear muffs easily. This jacket looks bulky but it is light weight and very comfortable. I am proud that I made this purchase, and I will definetly recommend it to anyone.

As the reviews indicte, this is a great, warm and waterproof parka and dollar for dollar, probably the best value out there. But beware (as one reviewer noted) that if you remove the faux fur trimming on the hood, the remainder of the hood is a disproportionately small to the coat, and doesn't provide the same level of protection. But otherwise, a great coat.

This jacket is so comfortable and warm especially gearing up for the cold harsh winters in New England. The outside is tough and durable and the color selection is great! Would recommend this for everyone!

has snap wind fly......if you realy work out side in the winter, snaps for body temp regulation are better than velcro. 4 starr !
