I wear this coat in cold New York weather. Good coat but not made the way it was made years ago. Much lighter, thinner material and less down fill. Overall though it is still made good. Also, I got an extra large instead of what I normally buy: large.

This is a great coat for what I needed it for-- walking around the cold city of Boston & staying warm. Major pros are that it's really cute and super warm. In weather of -5 to 30, it is a perfect jacket for cold weather. The hood is a little smaller than I'd personally like, but still covers my head and stays put. I read another review previously about the zipper being a bit finnicky, and I agree- it could be better. I originally ordered a medium thinking it would still be fitted enough to layer, but I realized I did not need to layer underneath as it kept me very warm, so I exchanged for a small which fits great! The width at the bottom is a bit bell-shaped, which is also where the smaller size allows for a better fit overall.

This coat is a great price for what it is. Extremely warm and comfortable. Unfortunately I had to exchange it for a different size because it felt too snug to me in the belt region

I bought this juniper teal color arctic parka in the end of Jan from the North face website in Canada and the product reached me at the est time7-10 Business day. It was a lovely colour and jacket feels warm(I love teal color), but it was not that super warm when you compare with other nf jacket like Tremaya, or Shavana. To me it feels like daily jacket towards mild cold day in Ottawa region.when temp goes down to minus 15 with wind, you need a sweater underneath. I fit between medium with 5"6 tall and 145 pds weight, chest 38B. I ordered a large size. it fits me well with rooms for sweater. The length fits to my mid thigh and the front part almost two inches above my knees. It was warm with sweaters even with temperature falls below -12 to -17 and windchill. One reason that I return this parka is that the parka is too short than something that I looked for. Another reason is the exterior material looks too cheap than tremaya parka which is another better parka from NF, although it says it is waterproof. other than these reason the parka is a good parka coat for daily use in average weather in Ottawa.betwwen 0 to-15 I guess.I am going to return this to get another Tremaya parka from other vendor for better quality , more durable and warmer NF coat. Unfortunately, I have to pay for the return and they insisted it must be tracking and signature requiring post service.I have no idea how much that will cost me, but anyway, it is an experience to purchase something online from the north face in Canada.wish those who want to buy northface to try the jacket in the store and then purchase. Otherwise, you have to pay for the return.

I love the look of this coat, lots of compliments so far. Hood detaches if desired. Great length, hits around mid-thigh (I am 5'4"). The sleeves have elastic so wind does not enter through sleeve hole. Only thing I have trouble with is the zipper occasionally, but overall like this coat.

This is a comfy coat that fit just as expected. I'm 5'3" and 120 lbs and purchased a size small. I was originally hoping for a coat that wouldn't require additional layers underneath but I've acclimated to San Diego temperatures. At 20 degrees and windy in Philly, I ended up adding my 550 gram North Face vest underneath to feel totally warm. Cute and simple design. Hood fell a little over my eyes when my hair wasn't in a ponytail but covered my face pretty well. Overall, I'm happy with this coat for city walking in Philly winters!

This coat is super warm and great for very cold winter weather. The fit is a bit bulky but it is comfortable and does a great job at keeping the cold out. My only complaint is the zipper. It keeps getting stuck. It's a bit troublesome, but otherwise it is I really like the coat.

I love the coat! Just what I was looking for to deal with the upstate New York cold! Just ran bigger then I needed.

Very warm, great quality!

I use the product as my outer coat for the coldest months of the winter. It keeps me warm and it is great for those cold rainy days. Its simplicity allows you to take it from a day look to a evening coat. However, it is never particularly stylish. It is a very comfortable coat, it has great pockets and it allows me to stay outdoors for hours without freezing!

This jacket keeps me so warm. Even when it's single digits outside, I only have one layer and this jacket and feel warm in it.

I love this jacket. It keeps me warm in the cold winters. It's the first time Ive bought a long winter jacket and I do not regret it. I'm petite (5"3) and opted into a small rather than an xs since I like wearing bulky sweaters underneath. Only con is the double zipper. It sometimes gets stuck and hard to zip up. The hood is also a little large for me and I can't see when I pull it over my head. But even with those two small flaws Id still recommend the product.

We bought for my team to go to Sundance for the film festival, the jackets are smaller than the size chart.

I wanted a warm, butt covering coat that I could wear to work without looking like a staypuff marshmallow person. this is perfect, except the sleeves are just a bit too snug over a blouse and sweater.

I got this coat as a Christmas present from my husband and I love it! It is very warm in extremely cold temp, as it gets frigid in Michigan. I would of given a 5 star if it weren't for the zippe, which could of been constructed better.

I use this for cold Montana winters! It is wonderful! Keeps me warm and dry! I have wanted a coat like this for years!

I was trying to decide between this parka and the Brooklyn. I decided on the Arctic because it met all my needs without the belted waist. As the temperature has dropped in NYC, it's been the perfect time to test it out. I'm usually so warm in this it's ridiculous. The two drawbacks are the zippers- it's hard to get to zip and they look cheap and weird angle of the pocket-it wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't a zippered pocket. It scrapes my ski. If it was metal I'd have bruises.

As I transition my move back home to New England from the west coast, I realized I don't own a coat warm enough. I have owned a NF coat in the past, which held up extremely well. Unfortunately, I gave it away because I didn't think I'd live in Massachusetts again. The site recommended I get a small. I tried the black one on with a thick sweater underneath. I feel it's too bulky and just a tad bit big. I felt like a butterball. I'm 5'2" and wear a size 2 in pants. I will have to exchange it for the XS. The only complaint I really have is the zipper. It doesn't feel as durable as my old NF. Judging by the reviews, this seems to be a common complaint. I'm hoping the XS won't be super tight. I would still recommend this cute parka!

I use this coat for "around town". I think it would be too bulky and too long for hiking/skiing. Very warm! Nice big pockets.

Love this coat for winter. I live in Minnesota so a warm coat is needed 6 months out of the year. My only complaint is that the arm length runs short. I returned a size medium for a large, hoping that the arms would be longer, but they are still a tad too short.

I ordered the coat in a XXL based on the web size questionnaire. The jacket was huge on me. I immediately ran to the local store and swapped it for an XL and LOVE it! It's exactly what I wanted and fits perfectly! Go with your gut, not the sizing recommendation!!

Great coat. I normally wear a Medium in outerwear, but needed to trade the M in for a Small - the M was a bit wider than other similar products. Very warm, nice weight. I'm a big fan of this winter coat.
