My hair has lots of volume to it since it's curly so the hat is too small, I would add an inch or two to the front. My face is exposed about 75% of the time. Also...it's a tad bit small in the arm pit/chest area. Other than that, it's a great parka, I love it!!!

I needed a jacket for cold Minnesota and so far it has been working really well. I wanted one that was wind and water proof and this on is! It has been warm out on the trial and in the city. The only issue I had with it was the second time I tried to wear it and the zipper got stuck. The zipper seems to be working correctly now since I haven't got stuck in the jacket since then.

The coat is very practical while still being decent looking. The insulation is good quality (though I haven't tested it out in extreme weather yet), the material is sturdy, and it fits well. I like that the hood and fur lining are removable so that you can customize the jacket to wear as you want. The only thing I dislike so far is that it's a little stiff, especially in the sleeves and shoulders, but I'm hoping that will loosen up as it gets worn. I do like the fit in spite of that because, as a petite woman, it's often difficult to impossible to find clothes that fit as they should. Overall, I feel like I got my money's worth and I'm looking forward to testing whether this "Arctic parka" lives up to its name when I go to Norway.

I liked this jacket enough but when it arrived I ended up exchanging it in store for the Women's Far North Waterproof parka and I'm so happy I did! There's are a few features the Far North has that this one doesn't - adjustable hood, chin strap cover, and thumb holes. I also liked the fit of the Far North better, it's more feminine in my opinion than this one (this parka has more of a bell shape. I'm 5'5" and usually wear a size 2 in jackets and the small fit great. Overall, their both great hackers but I would recommend the Far North for the extra $50!

Recently moved from west coast to east coast and bought this parka to blunt the shock of my first east coast winter. I'm 5 feet 95 lbs and ordered an extra small at first but it didn't zip over my chest so I exchanged it for a small. The small is pretty big on me and the collar of the jacket frequently stabs the underside of my chin if I don't wear a scarf with it. The zippers have also gotten super stuck a few times and I've had to fight them down. It's warm and thick though, so it does the job I wanted it to. Just expected a little better for how expensive these things are.

Would have given a 5 except for sizing. Thank goodness I went to outlet and was able to try them on. I had to get two sizes larger to be comfortable and be able to wear a sweatshirt or sweater under. Also outlet store had a sale and was able to get it for 40% LESS!! YAYY!

Jacket is warm and comfortable. Great for all those wet, below 40 days we have north of Seattle. It is a heavy jacket, but is only intended for the coldest days and definitely does the job. Has deep pockets that keep things dry and warm and is long enough (mid-thigh) to keep butt nice and warm.

I ended up buying this jacket for $179 at a North Face outlet store. Really happy with the purchase. Im 6'1 and 160 lb. I bought a large which is actually a bit too big but I needed the large for the arm length! even so I thought it was such a good deal I picked it up anyway. Its really warm and I think it looks great. It has really deep pockets which is great. I wouldn't recommend this jacket for any snow sports but it is perfect for an everyday parka! :)

I use this coat for every day. Enjoy the warmth that it offers the best. Color is not my favorite. Color choices were too limited I thought. Comfortable overall. Really like the coat

Great fitting coat - just need a scarf and you are completely covered. Little tight in the neck area as it hits my chin but I just keep it slightly unzipped!

I bought this in a medium, and returned it because the chest area was too tight. The large fit in the chest but was too large everywhere else. Too bad, it is a lovely coat and looks like it is toasty warm. This is not for someone with a large chest.

I bought this jacket because I am always cold and living in New England, I need something to keep me extra warm during the winter! Highly recommend this jacket!

I was looking for a super warm coat that wasn't prohibitively expensive, and this is it. Really warm and cozy! I went for the XS, which is snug, over the S, which was too bulky. There are some small design flaws that are bothersome: the pockets aren't placed well and aren't insulated, so they are both awkward to use and not super warm; the fur attachment to the hood is stiff, and the zipper can be hard to hook and unhook.

Had ordered this coat two years ago and returned it because could not get zipper to zip. Shopped around, ordering numerous coats and finally ended up reordering to give NF another chance. Glad I did, still have issues with the zipper more often than not, but coat is so comfortable. Lays nice over all types of clothing, slides on like satin

I am a cold weather wimp. I am petite at 5'6" weighing sometimes up to 115 lbs. I was in Colorado in 20 degree weather, with constant snow. This coat definitely fits snug. Not much room for a bulky sweater, but because I am thin it worked. I did try the medium which unfortunately was too big. Irregardless, I was in fact kept VERY warm. It's a nice looking coat and I prefer the flat exterior as opposed to a baffled/quilted look. It definitely kept me well protected from the elements; wind, rain and snow. If I had the option to make changes, I would definitely add an extra pocket on the inside of the coat, I would add a warm lining to the pockets, and I would have made the faux fur around the collar adjustable. It looks nice when the hood is down, but when you pull it over your head, there's no drawstring to cinch it so it kind of flops around. Nonetheless, I was comfortably warm, I did not have feathers coming out of the jacket (and I wore black sweaters and pants), and I got a lot of compliments on the look of the jacket.

Coat is very comfortable and mostly warm. The wind does get through it in the mid to lower back if it is cold enough, which was disappointing as I am out in extreme cold at times (Ontario) so another layer is required in those temps. Perhaps there is not enough fill in that section of the coat. It is not figure flattering (I am 5'4" and 135 lbs) but that is not an issue for me. I have the black, originally I was gifted the white but that is not a practical colour for my lifestyle. I loved the birch tree pattern on the inside of the white and wish the black had a little more character. Overall love North Face outerwear and satisfied with this product.

I was looking for a coat that is perfect for the December/January weather. This coat is great for the winter, but it would not withstand a windy, -20 degree day. I wished the neck opening is bigger, its feels tight with a scarf on and does not zip all the way up. As well, the hood can use a little width and height, there is not enough coverage to keep the face warm on a windy, cold day. The pocket opening too can be longer and pockets need more insulation for cold weather. I normally wear XS and had to size up to S--the body fits well. This parka is stylish and is still a very good coat to have in the closet.

I am 5 ft and 105 lbs. For other Nf products I am a firm S so I ordered this originally in small and it fit perfectly, but too perfect. It didn't leave enough comfortable room for layering underneath and it was somewhat tight around the shoulders and chest area so I returned it and reordered a M. So now although I am happy with this size change there are things I wish were included to this coat like adjustable waist and a cincher cord for along the bottom of the coat for better insulation since with the extra room does make it a bit airy. Otherwise I love this jacket, I am cozy, have room for layers, and the color is very pretty (deep heather garnet). I get many compliments on it as well.

I highly suggest trying on in store in several sizes. I ended up going with a Medium in the end despite everyone saying go up a size. This coat has enough puffy/bulk to it without needing to add extra fabric of a larger size than you need. It won't require many extra layers under it because it's insanely warm! That's a Pro. A con is that it isn't as shapely and flattering as they make it look. It's more boxy in cut than it appears. But I was after performance so that was less important to me. For reference I am 5'6", 150 and the medium is plenty good. It fits snug but not too tight with a heavy fleece, and additional base layer. The large sleeve length was way too long and the mid section was just huge, my husband even said it added pounds to me. Also I'm sure wind would ride up it as this coat has no cinch cords. Buy your size is my advice.

I love the jacket, I do wish the pockets were lined better. If you don't have gloves on and its windy your hands will be cold in your pockets. Other than that the jacket is super warm and durable!

This jacket is super comfortable and the pockets are deep. I wish the pockets were cloth lined, though. They are satin lined, so if you have cold hands, the material doesn't really warm them up. The hood isn't has big as I'd wish it to be, as it barely fits over my head for warmth. The hood also doesn't stay put if there is wind, as there are no drawstrings to tighten it up. However, the jacket kept me warm and dry as I walked through snow, and it was snowing at the time, so I see it as an A+.

I liked the more fitted look of my usual size small. However, I decided to size up to medium and go for comfort instead. This coat definitely runs small. Still love it, just wished the sizing was more accurate. And I do agree with other reviewers that the zipper is rather cheap for this quality or coat. I would still recommend... it's super comfy and warm.

I love the color and that it's not too heavy. I also like the sturdy hood with the fur as it does not come off easily when it's windy outside.
